He single handed prevented the entirety of the PKA fan base to ever do LSD if they haven’t already. That’s an impressive accomplishment because we might be one of the most drug prone podcast on the internet.

Our subjective realities aren't actual reality, just how our brain processes and interprets things. But its the only reality we can ever know or perceive.

rambling about the effects of psychedelics. He sounds exactly like me when I was 16 and had just taken LSD for the first time. I can't believe anyone would let that guy be their "shaman." You could pick someone at random from a Phish concert and they would do a better job.
Around @1:20:00 i realized the guest cant even fathom facing issues head on, wanting to better yourself or develop different habits.
My decision to get sober has been cemented after this episode

I have done a LOT of psychedelics and I wouldn’t dare say I for certain “know how the world works”. If anything you would be humbled to the point of accepting that no one knows how the world works.
Yeah same I took 7 grams at a party once when I was 14. It was intense but I didn't come out of it knowing the meaning of life, if anything I just wanted to do mushrooms again it was awesome haha
Ego death, the problem with that is I know tons of people who became pretentious while experimenting with psychedelics, the ego of the person they were dies, and then life is given to a whole new ego, faux enlightenment, can be a side effect of psychedelics.
@@orsy_pyrrhic I went through it and still fight off ego a lot as I become more and more of an adult. It’s hard. But I find that not integrating the lessons you learn from the trips or not having intentions of doing self work lead you to egotistical places. You have to realize no matter how profound the feeling is, you are afterall on an drug.
People who shill psychedelics as a all encompassing problem solver are doing damage to the public’s idea of the tools and medicines which are what these compounds really are.

I think that they gave this guy an unreasonably hard time. At the same time he kind of did it to himself…
He should have stayed with the “psychedelics can offer a welcome perspective shift that can help you navigate life” and did less of the poorly quoting Allan watts. He’s not a councillor, therapist or doctor. He is offering a service for people to take an opportunity to have a scientifically proven potentially beneficial experience, at a time where legal constraints are still an obstacle for many.

this guy reminds me so much of the guy at my group therapy that thought he knew everything and would argue with the therapists only to have to go back 4 months later cause he didnt get better
Dude is like ‘happiness isn’t guaranteed, so you shouldn’t orient towards happiness at all’.
Like no dude we can self reflect and have hope and vision, that’s what makes us human.
This guy is the best example I’ve ever seen of the fact that psychedelics by themselves are not any kind of path to spiritual enlightenment or self awareness.
It's a philosophy he adopted to be able to live with the fact that he fell asleep at the wheel and killed his wife that he's trying to push onto other people who haven't done horrible things.
