Extra info on wiring Evo X steering wheel to a VR4 and how steering wheel wiring generally works.

I decided to add this video as an addendum to my Evo X steering wheel installation video so that you can see how the wiring interface between the steering wheel and the radio and cruise control system generally works.

Nice work! I didn't realise that the X used a voltage divider. I assumed that it would be CAN Bus given that the rest of the car is.
I DIY'd some SWC for my Evo 8 - probably would've been faster (definitely more professional looking) if instead I'd installed an Evo X wheel!

It will be CAN bus in the controller side of all the wiring as the Evo X was the first OBD2 Lancer Evolution. Hard to say what cars will have an actual digital microcontroller in the wheel itself these days, but I would imagine some do. The voltage divider based solution has been in use for many years though and is extremely reliably, so I would still say it is the more common solution.
