As an ATPL student training at Larnaca in Cyprus, I find doing the question banks is crucial as the explanations in the bank can be very helpful and help build you’re knowledge on the subject you’re studying, also depending on what subject there could be up to 80% of the questions you do in the bank could come up in the exam
You are right, you could very well understand many points from the question bank. However, developing that aviation knowledge is equally as important. thanks for watching
I already finished my ATPL with the new syllabus with average of 95% and in my opinion the video is not so accurate when it comes to bank. 80% the longest answer is correct? Let me guess “too long to be wrong” this is no longer correct with the ECQB20. If you want to pass get PadPilot V2 or Oxford 2020, get your TK v2+3 learn the syllabus, gain enough knowledge so you could explain the subject to someone, practice questions and go for the exams. Also, EASA replace 1200 questions annually with a mix of words per question so to learn the bank is not ideal. Good to practice but do not expect to pass only by doing this. The knowledge is more important than the bank with the new syllabus.
I agree with you that the knowledge is more important because simply that's what you need for your career. However, knowledge alone WILL NOT make you pass those tests. Most of those questions are written by non-native English speaking individuals, which makes it challenging to sometimes even know what the question really is. that's why you need to practice.
Passing the ATPL exams are basically studying the questions bank (AviationExam and ATPLQ), if you just study the books and go to classes you WILL fail 100%. The exams are build in a way to make people fail, full of dirty traps and wordplay just to confuse you and a good amount of useless knowledge like what is the size of a rain drop (who cares). I would actually argue that one can pass the exams just by studying the question bank from scratch without even attending the classes. Having said that, it's sad that 80% of what we have to know we will not use in real life, the ATPL exams are just hard for the sake of being hard. For anyone trying, passing with an average score of 80-85% is already good enough, most important thing is get done with it. Also, the majority of people fail 2 or 3 subjects and have to retake them, it's normal.
Thank you for your comment, well it took me about 12 months to pass all the 14 ATPL subjects. However, i am still learning till this day. A good Pilot is always learning.
Hey, i suggest you use BGS Online, I’m using that and it covers all ATPL questions for all 14 subjects, question bank is basically a practice for your exam questions, like past papers

You are absolutely right.
This is so accurate
thanks for your advice, how much time did you spend learning these 14 subjects ?

It’s 13 subjects not 14
If you did 14 that’s mean you did old syllabus…..that irrelevant for the new syllabus
The music of your video is super loud!!! I have to repeat many parts 😤
Thanks for your feedback, will rectify the issue in the upcoming videos.
Sorry, but what are these “banks” and where can I find them?
You can check out ATPLQ, it is probably one of the best banks as of now.

Next time, can you turn down the music?
Noted, thanks for the feedback
