These are great! Makes me want to get back into the system. I would LOVE to see you break down Empire of the Sun. That has been a tough nut to crack for me. Your vids have helped me learn some difficult games.

Great video and clearly explained as usual - fantastic job. There is a small error at 16:55 where you state the mortar in the example cannot fire at a target 2 hexes away, this is inaccurate as the range listed on the counter includes firing ranges of the numbers listed. 2-60 inclusive, so all ranges up to and including the numbers listed on the counter are able to be targeted.

Something doesn't add up. You're right the 81mm mortar counter lists the range as 2-60. But the chart says (NA 1-2) so it can't fire at range 1-2. So either the counter is misprinted or the chart is misprinted. At 23:24 the video shows the stats for an American 60mm Mortar and its range is listed as 3-45. I find it difficult to believe the American 60mm mortar has a greater minimum range than the German 81mm mortar (but maybe I'm wrong there). So, I'm leaning to the counter having the misprint. Unless the full game of ASL is different for the chart and the counter is right? What do you think Ben Harsh?

@@JohnWilliamsGTS I see what you mean. However, if you are ever in doubt about the stats of a weapon you should refer to the ordinance notes (in this case in the rulebook) which are lifted straight from full ASL. The Mortar in this case has a minimum range of 2. The chart is correct because it is showing the M1 81mm Mortar (American Mortar). A different Mortar to the counter used in the example

As with all the other SK tutorials, exceptionally well done. These are the best SK video tutorials out there.
Just one mistake, sort of. At 25:00 you state the SW mortar elects to not use Intensive Fire. However, only Guns as defined by 1.2.6 can use IF. The SW mortar is not a Gun and cannot use IF.

is there a difference beetween a red and a blue target acquisition counter??

There is no difference between acquisition counters of different colors. The important distinction between acquisition counters is the letter marking. The ordnance counter has a letter in the upper left-hand corner. You want to select an acquisition counter with the same letter in order to avoid confusing which ordnance counter is associated with the acquisition.

the other difference between acquisition counters that is important is the size that is used. Area target type use the 5/8" counters while the others use the 1/2" acquisition counters

I just want to say that I've been really enjoying these. Shouldn't the broken squads get a -4 Desperation Morale counter?
    Warm regards, Rick.
