I think the captain is hook and he's locked away in the temple that briggsy says a monster is locked in. "A pirates life for me" us a song Hooks crew had sung. Makes sense we are going to get a very mean hook. Perhaps a hook that even flameheart is scared of.

No the Cap'n isn't Hook, the Capt'n was heard of well before the Disney collab, people need to stop wanting this game to be a mashup of every pirate related stuff out there and remain SoT
So far the captain could be anyone. Even a dark reflection of our own player character. Other games have done this, even star trek online!

I have to say I know it sidelined what was going on with Flame heart, but I'd say Pirate's Life was dramatically more focused on the main games story than it was POTC, that felt more like a nifty lens to see the world grow through, think about how little we knew of the SOTD or the Sirens pre-APL
After they added all of the emotes from the movie "Hook" I have seen it as basically for certain that we will be getting Cap'n Hook

I think the “she” that Jack made a promise to was Tinker Bell her self since as soon as Jack came to the Sea of thieves he was killed by Davy Jones and then was imprisoned by the Ferry man and when we help him get out and the crab monster steals the treasure he said “after that treasure I gave “her” my word” I think that for how ever long he was trapped in the brig of the Ferry he talked to the treasure or who was ever inside the treasure and made them a promise to get them out or maybe take them back home
People really need to stop with the other Disney collabs, this is Sea of Thieves, not Sea of Pirate Mashups
I remember one time they said "Something big" is coming and it wasn't all that great and was soon forgotten.
Most of their adventures should have been tall tales, and a few tall tales should have been adventures. They really need to keep the tall tales going and make the adventures actually last a while because these one and done things are kinda annoying to do because it's not always worth doing
Not to mention some of the adventures were quite climatic. The summoning of the megs event was something that I thought they’d sort of keep in the game. Having some of the tall tale locations serve more than one purpose would be good too. The underwater kingdom for the second pirates life was a one done tall tail that I’m surprised hasn’t been used again.

Honestly there was a slip up recently. I found a placeholder belt in my clothing cabinet that looked like the ferryman’s belt
I personally love the pirate life tall tail I keep doing it over and over again since I love pirates of the Caribbean growing up as a wee lad
i feel like the tall tales served as a good introduction to the sea of the damned, i don't really want the lore to take a full on Disney canon.

I did start playing just before pirates life so I'm hopeful that it will give a boost amd bring in new players again! That's what excites me the most about another pirates of the Caribbean crossover
the bad thing about a new potc crossover is that the lore will be heavily ruined once again

Its definitely going to be captain Hook that comes back for part 2. He will have made a promise to Tinkerbell to save the lost boys.
It would be good if they throw a spanner in the works and went with the original Peter Pan fairy tale. Where Hook was the good guy and that all the pirates were actually lost boys that hook managed to help them escape Peter Pan.
No spoilers or anything but as far as can see there's no update for insider yet and we're so many weeks away which is odd.... wanted to go test and preview next season aaaandddd nothing

I wouldn't say no one knew about pirates life there was a pirates life leak on insider that maybe 5-10 people saw in the commendations but joe neate went to their house and silenced them.

@@infinitypeaches3329 Back when "pirates life 1" was still unknown there was a patch on insiders that revealed information it was removed in like 1 minute but some people seen it and talked about it in the forums then they shut the forums down for "maintenance"

I really hope that it isn’t adventures for jack sparrow that would really suck purely because of the fact you can’t replay it and new players can’t enjoy it, I’d rather it as tall tales a voyage or something else permanent in the game whenever they decide to bring him back
I personally really hope that the Cap'n isn't Hook. I was fine with Davy Jones showing up as the main villain of Pirate's Life because he showed up, did evil stuff which set main plot events in motion (the formation of the Dark Brethren) and then died *_*_* , effectively removing him from the story and allowing the main events of the plot to take center stage. This was good because it still pushed forward the pre-existing plot while the crossover characters had their own section of the story without shoving a bunch of Disney characters into the middle of the story. However, if The Cap'n, a villain who is very important to the main plot and has been foreshadowed since the games launch, turned out to also be some random Disney character, it would heavily cheapen the unique original aspects of the world of Sea of Thieves.
TL;DR: Davy Jones becoming the main villain of a Pirate's Life was fine, but Hook being the main villain of the entire plot would just take away from Sea of Thieves's uniqueness.
*_*_* Technically Davy Jones isn't necessarily permanently dead, but his soul is imprisoned on the Ferry Of The Damned and that's about as dead as you can get in Sea Of Thieves.

I think Belle's "talisman" is in her buoy. The buoy is obviously from the Sea of the Damned and is Belle's primary transport (if not her only transport). I suppose it's possible that Jack somehow imbued her buoy after the events of the Pirate's Life Tall Tales, allowing her to be active in the adventures, but if there is a pixie in Jack's talisman--which I believe to be the case--then I don't think the same talisman allows Belle to move freely (unless Jack simply gave Belle a healthy supply of pixie dust). Belle's transport doesn't look like pixie dust, either. I think it's more likely that Belle received some power to travel between worlds, either from the Ancients, or as a result of the Dark Brethren's attack on the boundaries between worlds.
In fact, I'm not sure her freedom is complete, even now. It's clear to me that Jack's talisman has a pixie in it because the Pearl turns golden before opening the portal. In contrast, Belle only appears on hazy islands, and often in the company of Ancients. I think there was only one adventure in which Belle was seen somewhere other than on an island: She was on a *memory* of the Killer Whale. The state of islands with the buoy on the coast is one that would accommodate ghosts and phantoms. Corporeal memories. It's almost like the buoy pulls these islands toward the Sea of the Damned, rather than serving as a way to reach the Sea of Thieves. It reminds me of the lighthouses and torches there. They have a strange influence on the space.
For anybody that doesn't know, yes nobody knew about the Pirates Life Tall Tales, BUT insiders did test a lot of functions and additions beside the Tall Tales from Pirates Life, such as Portal Hopping, the tridents, the sirens. So we had something to test that had some relation to it although we didn't know for what. There is no PL 2 coming for the anniversary since we haven't tested anything.
The anniversary is after Season 8 ends in 2 weeks, and Season 9 is going to be a plain Quality of Life update, nothing new added to the game apart from some Pirate Legend voyages, other than that is just fixes and improvements to the existing game

I would okay with jack sparrow return to the sea of thieves world but I would absolutely loose my mind if the straw hat crew from one piece came into the sea of thieves world
I'm still hoping for a proper Monkey Island crossover! I loved the little Easter egg in A Pirates Life, I would die to see that more fleshed out as a Tall Tale in SoT!
The "Her" Jack was referring to is totally Tinkerbell! look at how the ship leaves! Perhaps a possible face off against Captain Hook
I feel as if there would be a pirates life 2 would they not do some kind of a big announcement on it like last time doing at a showcase, E3, or just a video etc.
(Edit)- Also i personally dont mind if they add new tall tales here and there relating to things in game i find them enjoyable from time to time and it would be nice to do them whenever and not on a time schedule like the adventures now.

The pirates life will be the tie in for some port, we got the regular one, sea dogs tavern will probably be the second (reapers) and the third. One for each main region.
That begs the question of if they can use Johnny as the voice actor

I agree that we’ll likely see another Disney collaboration this year. I believe towards the end of the most recent SoT Podcast Mike Chapman said something like “this will be another magical year for Sea of Thieves.” That could be a throwaway PR line but the first thing that came to mind was Disney content tease.
Funnily enough in the podcast today they talked about the next mystery needing involvement from their legal team. Whenever I think of legal stuff, I think Disney.

They did not use him in the first set of pirates' life tall tales either, it's a voice actor that impersonates him and has been doing it since the early POTC games on Xbox 360 and the like.

I really hope that this will not happen. Sea of Thieves, have personal LORE, and own main story to tell, like, we still waiting for returning of FlameHeart. Yes, this crossover was absolutely cool, but only like, side story, not serious story, not a important part of LORE. We ain't bought game about Disney's pirates, we ain't need more Pirates of Carribbean. We want out, Sea of Thieves with own characters and story's. Maybe not we, but I am, and i really hope, not only.

Honestly my only complaint about A Pirate's Life is all of the stuff relating to Jack Sparrow. Jack Sparrow is, in my honest opinion, a character that has well outworn his welcome. Jack Sparrow has gone from a supporting character in the story of Elizabeth Swan and William Turner to the axis around which the entire Pirates of the Caribbean Universe spins. He's a black hole that has consumed the entire franchise. When I heard Pirates of the Caribbean Six was going to be a continuity reboot with a new cast of characters I was fucking relieved because new stories and new characters would be a breath of fresh air into the withered zombie of a franchise.
But now I hear they're bringing him back, and I'm just like god damn just let his story fucking end! Stories have beginnings and they have endings, and the only way any of the stuff that comes between the beginning and end can have any meaning is if there's an ending.
It's the problem all franchises have, for story to have any meaning it has to have an ending. And a story that just goes on and on and on forever will never have any meaning because nothing that happen will ever mater because it's all middle. There's never any finality. You can see this most clearly in the fifth movie with the Will and Elizabeth plot line. Will and Elizabeth had a pretty happy and conclusive ending in the third movie. Will saved his father, Elizabeth and Will finally got married, and Elizabeth's fidelity ensured the curse of the Flying Dutchman would be broken. And then all of that gets thrown out in the fifth movie to drag their characters back into this zombie of a franchise. The finality of their story thrown out because Disney wants another billion dollars and people liked Will and Elizabeth so maybe if we throw out their happy ending and drag them back into this franchise Disney will get another billion dollars! Why should I care about anything that happens in these movies when it will never matter. If the characters are popular they'll be back, you think Barbossa 's going to stay dead? If he's not back by the end of the 6th movie, I'll boil my cavalier hat and eat it. Nothing that happens in these movies matters in the long run. If Disney thinks bringing back Barbossa will make them a billion dollars they'll bring him back.
I'm sick of Disney Franchise schlock. I'm sick of every single corporation turning every single work of art into a never ending story in the hopes of creating a never ending money well. I'm sick of formulaic block busters with budgets larger than the GDP of small counties sucking up all of the oxygen in the room. I'm sick of the same three corporations cannibalizing their intellectual property over and over and over again. Give me art, given me cinema, give me finality, give me anything but this death march of meaningless never ending stories.
I did like the Sirens, Dark Brethren, and the Sea of the Damned elements. Those were really cool. And I do like Gibbs we should just make a movie all about Gibbs.
