18:30 as the fumbling mage Jon steps on the obvious trap, our hero Benor once again wonders why he bothers to bring this wannabe necromancer on his adventures
Jon, the "good" thing about the Ghostblade is that it weighs 1, and power attack stamina cost is based on weight. It's a weapon you use if you really love power attacks.
12:05 That wasn't a trap Jon. The traps with soul gems are made of stone and have a thingy on top to direct the the magic forwards, this was just a stand with a soul gem on top.
While that is clearly true, it cannot be denied that he proper fucked up that stand. xD Also, found it really funny that the only time he's able to hit one of the soul gems resting on something is the one time it's actually harmless.
What if Jon's character has a split personality, which is represented by her one good eye and one magicky evil eye. Like, the bad things she's done, like killing Uthgerd, were justified by her evil half, and the good, heroic deeds justified by her good half. Plus, her good side led her to take up restoration, while her bad side led her to take up necromancy.
Hanky1000 Mate, this is MATN, he's physically incapable of role playing. Just imagine his character to be a psychotic sociopath that thinks they're in a game and you've got every non challenge character Jon has made. (Without considering the challenge runs, no kill, etc)
i can already feel Benor being weak follower now[lvl cap30].pls jon retire him after you marry him in riften. get Vilkas from companions team [lvlcap50,2H,Heavy armor]. other good options for 2H,Heavy are - injgard at fort dawngard [no lvl cap] Mjol the lioness in riften [lvlcap 40]
Gee Jon, those whirling axes sure seem hard to avoid if you try to step between them like that. If only you where some kind of dragonborn with the ability to sprint like a whirlwind, that might make things easier for you. ;D
I'm loving the way that you're playing through Skyrim, Jon. Just a "Set a destination and explore everything/go on adventures on the way" is a real treat to watch!
jon, I found perfect weapon for benor. 1. ask around banered mare for rumors 2. get a quest about the jarl's son 3. do the quest 4. sacrifice friends 5. give to benor like so jon will see☺ actually just go into dragonreach kitchen basement and listen to the door
Jon, the Ghost Blade is awesome. Even if its damage is mediocre, the fact that it weighs one and it never needs to be recharged does make it a pretty good back up.
The animation of getting up from falling down makes it really powerful to put a 1 second Paralyze enchantment on a sword gets a bunch of casts, and basically locks the enemy out of combat anyway for future paralyze enchantments, you may wish to consider it so you do not have to recharge frequently
Jon I just want to say thank you for uploading skyrim, total war, and red dead redemption. Your videos make my week a lot better than it would be without you. Much love you big goof
"it's nice to find a cave that's just a simple cave". And just knowing how far and deep that cave system goes since I just finished up the crown quest on my last playthrough.
The last time I did this dungeon, I had a character with high Illusion. Upon reaching the main chamber, I crept up the stairs to Lu'ah's bedroom and cast Fury on her - all the Draugr attacked her and once she died, they all dropped XD. Easiest. Boss. EVER!
the ebony mace would do 1697.4 damage per minute and the ghostblade would do 1904.4 per minute if the enemy has 50 armour, but that's not including the ebony mace enchantment because I couldn't find how much damage the after burn does and how long it lasts
22:41 - I haven't laughed that hard in days. What we really need is a Skyrim - You Only Live Kilotimes so we can see if Jon can complete the game (and all DLC) before he hits 1000 deaths.
the paralyze and freeze is so broken in this game because it takes them like 4 seconds to get up off the floor plus you only need paralyze of 1 second with 26% chance of and then they start falling over that pretty much a free 5 second of dps u can do
Jon there is a big problem Benor has a level cap so you should probably get a mod to remove it as Benor will become progressively weaker as you level up
Dammit, Jon. When you found the Elven Armor of Gilded Restauration I though you were excited since you would consider using it; but nooo it's just for the selling value. You really should consider it though, since the armour rating would be good and it would still be a big reduction in cost for Restauration spells (which you use the most). I will also repeat myself and say you should REALLLLYYY use Alteration spells - still don't know why you refuse. You could somewhat easily get Ironflesh at this point, which increases your Armour Rating by 80 - quite significant considering it's almost quadrupling your rating in the first place.
I FOUGHT THREE DRAGONS AT ONCE WHILE WATCHING THIS VIDEO, AND I FLIPPING WON. Holy crap, that has to be my favorite moment after probably thousands of hours poured into this game. And if it wasn't for this series, it wouldn't have happened. Because until I started watching the adventures of Benor and his Archmage Friend, I had been on a rather long hiatus because I'd become bored of it all. Jon, you've rekindled my love for this game.
Hey Jon, if you ever want to build your own house, you should keep the amulets. If you add the basement, you need the amulets to crate the corresponding shrine. And it can be a pain if you're trying to make them & have to find an amulet.
Generally speaking, if you want your companion to use something you have to make sure that whatever that is happens to be the best weapon or armor in their inventory. If you want Benor to tank, you can let him keep the bow, but make sure he doesn't have any arrows. Also, on the off chance you want a companion to use a bow, they would only need 1 arrow and they'll automatically use the best arrow damage-wise (it's also a good way to get free arrows over time, for instance if you gave them daedric arrows, which aren't overwhelmingly common until late-game).
I believe the whole Robes value difference is because there are two types of enchanted robes in the game: Novice/Adept/etc Robes of : very valuable, both magicka regen and spell cost reduction increase. Robes of Novice/Adept : Not valuable, only spell cost reduction increases.
Did a few tests, if you hit inside the area be or is standing and the little green ring touches him he is rallied. Just shoot the ground near him for easier Rallies since it is way hard to hit him square on.
From what I've heard and seen, ghostblade is a good weapon for power attacks and stealth, and ignoring armor is pretty useful. I recommend keeping it because if you ever are in a position where you might want it then it's there. It weighs as much as a book, so yeah.
Jon, if you activate the swinging axes (or if Benor does, but seems unlikely), use whirlwind sprint to get through them! Alternatively use become ethereal. No damage :)
You can upgrade the Ghost Blade at a whetstone workstation with 3 ectoplasm, assuming you have Arcane Smithing. It's a great assassin weapon once you upgrade it fully. Shor's Stone has a nice mini-quest in their Ebony mine.
Hey Jon, if you ever do No Stone Unturned, you'll end up coming back to Tolvald's Crossing - there's a section that's blocked off until you collect all the stones and start the final stage of the quest. Beyond that section is a shrine to Barenziah which holds her crown and it's guardian spirits.
Also if you like some lore, you can find a full set of both The Biography of Barenziah and The Real Barenziah among the skeletal remains.= in the cave system.
Jon that is not how paralyze works, it's more like a persentage chance to paralyze that can be resisted everytime, so essentially the more you swing the greater the chance of them getting paralyzed. There are only a few enemies that cant be paralyzed. Also I find it highly entertaining just how much the atronach stone is saving Jon.
started playing for the first time in 3 years the other day... Was exploring and fighting a dragon in a town, accidently killed benor... I just found his body on the ground and thought to myself... oh noooo not benoooor... remembering your clips
I think ghostblade is basically a good backup weapon. If you're looking to save weight, it's great in this regard since it only weighs 1 and does some armor piercing.
Jon: *steps on pressure plate*
Benor:*avoids pressure plate*
Jon: Dammit Benor, you activated the trap!
Shh. Don't let Benor hear you.
18:30 as the fumbling mage Jon steps on the obvious trap, our hero Benor once again wonders why he bothers to bring this wannabe necromancer on his adventures
When was the last time he actually reanimated anything, anyway?
Tenebrous Nova the useless fox in the last video
Poor Benor. Jon steps on a trap and Benor gets blamed for it.
Seriously! Both times, too!
and also in previous episodes
The Hole Deal His perception is so low that not only does he step on the obvious traps he also doesn't even notice it when he does.
Jon, the "good" thing about the Ghostblade is that it weighs 1, and power attack stamina cost is based on weight. It's a weapon you use if you really love power attacks.
i have so many mods i forgot what the base-game version was like, kinda reminds me why i have mods
Jon you shouldn't make fun of Stormy for his impotence, he is very sensitive about it and its not his fault
That's not very nice.
Jon said Benor 156 times in this part making the Benor counter at 1347.
I’m so glad this is a thing lol
bro has dedication
This is awesome

To get a potent storm atronach you must have Elemental Potency in the conjurer skill tree
Benor is such a good friend he will defend you with a shield and pickaxe
Skyrim: The Friendzoning of Benor
"J'zargo!"
He says, moments after knowingly lighting himself on fire, and in surprise that fire doesn't differentiate between friend and foe.
tracerd2 He needs to be making Jon-proof scrolls
I think I just witnessed an NPC get friend zoned...
*breathes in through teeth* Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................
The Skyrim drinking game: Take a shot everytime Jon says Benor
Xx_Fedora Appreciator_xX I'm dead
Benor
Right now I counted that he said benor about 35 times, but I'm not so sure because the rapid "Benor" can make me easily lose track
i dont drink and yet i still think no matter what you were drinking you would die as soon as he gets into combat lol
kenseikage I counted about 92 times. Yeah the drinking game is basically starting your own funeral
"Guys, we have to work as a unit! Stick together!"
... says the guy who takes a time out to browse books while his followers fight.
SalfordianBlue how are you doing totoro

Hanky was closer.
Hanky1000 Restoration and necromancy go hand in hand, and neither are inherently good or bad
Hero Peasant necromancy is evil tho, and restoration is the opposite
Hanky1000 what heroic deeds? I’m pretty sure benor is her good side :D
Jon i hate to break it to ya, but you stepped on that pressure plate
also when you stepped on that pressure plate on purpose and went flying I almost died laughing
Jon's infamous -1 perception acting up again.
Well, yes, I stepped on that pressure plate on that occasion. The other times were Benor.
you aren't killing her because she's raising zombies, you are killing her because she tried to make YOU a zombie
21:34
Jon your legendary level 1 Perception strikes again! The note says it's the recipe for fire salts
That's not so much perception as it is reading comprehension.
Ryan Wisse Jon's perception is well known to be -1, not 1
Brandon F. M *-2. It got downgraded in a stream remember?
"Restless Drougr, I can handle this by myself!"
Benor does a cinematic kill 😂
Did Benor marry the Jon NPC, yet?
Not yet
David Canmore there's some .messy laws around human-egg box relationships
He also hasn't made it back to Riften, though, so you never know!
i can already feel Benor being weak follower now[lvl cap30].pls jon retire him after you marry him in riften.
get Vilkas from companions team [lvlcap50,2H,Heavy armor]. other good options for 2H,Heavy are -
injgard at fort dawngard [no lvl cap]
Mjol the lioness in riften [lvlcap 40]
Sunny bunny NEVER HERITIC
"Oooh! Firesalt recipe, I wonder what that makes." C'mon! Really?!
It could be anything.
Gee Jon, those whirling axes sure seem hard to avoid if you try to step between them like that. If only you where some kind of dragonborn with the ability to sprint like a whirlwind, that might make things easier for you. ;D
Konner Deyo If only you could avoid most traps the same way Jon. :)
You'll be telling me that there's some way to become ethereal and not take any damage next.
I'm loving the way that you're playing through Skyrim, Jon. Just a "Set a destination and explore everything/go on adventures on the way" is a real treat to watch!
jon, I found perfect weapon for benor.
1. ask around banered mare for rumors
2. get a quest about the jarl's son
3. do the quest
4. sacrifice friends
5. give to benor
like so jon will see☺
actually just go into dragonreach kitchen basement and listen to the door
Swiss army knight yes
Jon, the Ghost Blade is awesome. Even if its damage is mediocre, the fact that it weighs one and it never needs to be recharged does make it a pretty good back up.
"I can't remember what this recipe is for.." *clearly marked as fire salts in the description* Never change, Jon.
Jon: "Benor is a true friend"
Benor: *crying inside*
Benor needs to get a better companion. This necromancer keeps doing friendly fire damage.
The animation of getting up from falling down
makes it really powerful to put a 1 second Paralyze enchantment on a sword
gets a bunch of casts, and basically locks the enemy out of combat anyway
for future paralyze enchantments, you may wish to consider it so you do not have to recharge frequently
oh Jon, still trying to sneak around with a shining light hovering over your head.
Lets all give Benor a hand, he really is patient with his Rincewind-esque mage.
Jon I just want to say thank you for uploading skyrim, total war, and red dead redemption. Your videos make my week a lot better than it would be without you. Much love you big goof
"You shouldn't, anyone who gets too close to me gets hurt"
and sometimes it's not even on purpose!
22:27 oh lord almighty Jon u bring me to tears the way u play these games LMAO
ghostblade is good for sneeking and weight restricted areas. also, it upgrades with ectoplasm.
"it's nice to find a cave that's just a simple cave". And just knowing how far and deep that cave system goes since I just finished up the crown quest on my last playthrough.

many a true benord

Andrew Andrade the fire damage is 10 points regardless of how long it lasts BUT targets on fire do take extra damage
Best time I've ever had with Skyrim is watching these. I'm sad I'm a third of the way through.
Those blade-trapped hallways are a menace. Best to whirlwind sprint or ethereal form through them.
David Idiart you can sprint through if you time it right
Yeah, but there are better options that remove the guesswork.
22:41 - I haven't laughed that hard in days.
What we really need is a Skyrim - You Only Live Kilotimes so we can see if Jon can complete the game (and all DLC) before he hits 1000 deaths.
A happy healthy Benor a day keeps the Draugr away
I just love to kick back relax and watch some skyrim it's nice
the paralyze and freeze is so broken in this game because it takes them like 4 seconds to get up off the floor plus you only need paralyze of 1 second with 26% chance of and then they start falling over that pretty much a free 5 second of dps u can do
the value difference of the robes is because some are college like robes (expensive ones) and the others are necromancer robes (cheap ones
"Benor is a true friend."
Welcome to the Friendzone Benor. I've been here a while and you will too, speaking of which, do you care for tea?
Love how Jon set off the traps and then blamed Benor
you could probably do a "magic only" run ... where you can't use weapons at all. companions are allowed and can carry weapons.
John, you should use a sword or a knife when sneak attacking. Anything heavy like a mace makes your character grunt and alert other Falmor.
38:39 Benor jumped down like an action hero XD
What if Benor is the dragon born and shouts so that Jon feels better?
"This time, don't try and rush this bit" *gets swatted of the walkway*
*Stares directly at a still-burning fire and sleeping bags* "No sign of anyone here."
This series should be renamed to "Adventures of Benor and his companion who undresses dead women"
I FOUGHT THREE DRAGONS AT ONCE WHILE WATCHING THIS VIDEO, AND I FLIPPING WON. Holy crap, that has to be my favorite moment after probably thousands of hours poured into this game. 9:52 No they didn't. They told you it was Blisterwart and wheat.
poor impotent storm atronach...
I can't wait for the wedding
Hail Kiloby
Hail the Sloth Shadow Council
Lex Betty I was confused af who was Kiloby
You don't know who Kiloby is? HERETIC!
KIloby is our grand master ruling from the shadows seeking to bring about Regicide.
Lex Betty I like sloths
I do enjoy how you say you can kill a restless yourself and Benor still kills it for you.

For the swinging axes try strafing while looking at the wall to see where they come out of.
Did a few tests, if you hit inside the area be or is standing and the little green ring touches him he is rallied. Just shoot the ground near him for easier Rallies since it is way hard to hit him square on.
Jon: *steps on trap* BENOR DON’T- OH NO BENOR HAS STEPPED ON THE OBVIOUS TRAP HOW COULD HE NOT HAVE SEEN THAT
"oh, he's got such terrible weapons right now."
Jon, Benor had just equip his Battle-axe right in front of you before you said that.
Benor is the champion of Kvatch to your Martin Septim.
From what I've heard and seen, ghostblade is a good weapon for power attacks and stealth, and ignoring armor is pretty useful. I recommend keeping it because if you ever are in a position where you might want it then it's there. It weighs as much as a book, so yeah.
u should really use the whirl wind sprint to get through those axes or the ethereal shout
Jon, Ghostblade cannot be enchanted AFAIK, regardless, it might be worth keeping as a backup, since it is incredibly light by Skyrim's standards.
Please check to the east of Ansilvund. There's an amazing ruin there.
woooo Jon got the intro right
Jon, if you activate the swinging axes (or if Benor does, but seems unlikely), use whirlwind sprint to get through them! Alternatively use become ethereal. No damage :)
You can upgrade the Ghost Blade at a whetstone workstation with 3 ectoplasm, assuming you have Arcane Smithing. It's a great assassin weapon once you upgrade it fully.

it seems like time to get rid of benors level cap or find someone new
Give Benor a decent back up weapon for when he gets disarmed.
12:06 thats a soul gem holder jon
Jon that is not how paralyze works, it's more like a persentage chance to paralyze that can be resisted everytime, so essentially the more you swing the greater the chance of them getting paralyzed. There are only a few enemies that cant be paralyzed.
Also I find it highly entertaining just how much the atronach stone is saving Jon.
29:15 That was a pretty cool clutch there.
Next time you find a hallway of swinging blades, just use whirlwind sprint to pass through in one go
The ghost blade is ludicrous on toast with steroids.
Oh Jon, you could've just used whirlwind sprint to get past the scythe trap at 19:36 .
just so u know john, when u see those traps you have a shout called whirlwind sprint, gets u right through them no problem lol.
"The hope of Redoran" "Real Barenziah"
if you read books, it was a pile of Dunmer-related books in particular
If you're having trouble with the swinging axes you could try whirlwind sprinting through them :)
That recipe was a legit recipe for converting regular salt to fire salt
Atronachs become potent when you take the perk that makes them more powerful, though I forget the name of it.
26:45 A moment of silence for our brother in the Friend Zone.
Hey, you can use whirlwind sprint to get past axe traps pretty easily, FYI
started playing for the first time in 3 years the other day... Was exploring and fighting a dragon in a town, accidently killed benor... I just found his body on the ground and thought to myself... oh noooo not benoooor... remembering your clips
great video Jon
jon really knows how to finish em off
I think ghostblade is basically a good backup weapon. If you're looking to save weight, it's great in this regard since it only weighs 1 and does some armor piercing.
Also, I think stormy actually has more health than frosty
Jon,you know you can command your companions at a distance to hold your talk button,it has a uncanny resemblance to f4 companions commands.
The Cave is the final part of the quest 'No Stone Unturned' Jon
The touch stone Jon, you missed the touch stone!
