Most of the people that wanted that cards and hold em for a certain time, the persons without the card are searching, but it isn't affordable due to the hype from February 24 - May 24. The market is stabilizing right now and nearly all cards are finishing on a higher price than previous, that's for sure.
There is one that you did not mention on this list that has not had a lot of upward or downward movement in the past six months that in truth may be the most investable alt art out there right now because it is still considerably undervalued. It is the Charizard V alt art from Brilliant Stars. Can still be had for around $140. Long term, given the current price, that is the one to have multiples of.

That looks normal for supply and demand in TCG. The drop is due to normalizing of the market after eager single card buyers got off the market and more of them gets listed. Besides the drop isn't as volatile compare to MTG who has lesser art variants.

Big question is where will they be in 18 months when booster box supply has thinned out even more. I haven’t been buying any big ones since they spiked but I may have to get some more if they retrace 30 plus percent and flatline for a month or two
I still don't think anything compares to the Latios Latias Alt Art from Team Up going from $20 in 2019 to $800 in 2023. I've never seen anything multiply that fast in 4 years. I get less people were buying cards in 2019 and Team Up was not printed a lot but still, a 40x return in 4 years is something I doubt anyone could have seen happen.
I'm sure you've already mentioned it in one of your videos, but the price charts / graphs you're showing, what prices do they show? All available copies of the cards, in all conditions? Only graded cards?

Just don’t sell em and don’t watch the types of videos that cover price corrections and you’ll be fine. I bought low and did not sell high but still enjoy the cards and they’ll probably blow past those previous highs if you just let them sit a couple years when 90%+ of the SWSH packs have been ripped
Really interesting stuff. I think it’s a combination of a typical summer lull, more newer people getting out of the hobby, and money shifting towards XY and Sun and Moon.
nightmare? gengar vmax alt was originally 50-100$ I personally scooped 3 myself for $80-100 a pop now it crashed to 300 thats a successful nightmare too me tbh. Rn is honestly the best time to buy alts since most of the "investors" are out of the buyout season rn and prices are affordable y'all don't seem to understand these swsh alts have cemented pokemon history most hype era of pokemon and highest demand for pokemon cards era ever even more than vintage....nobody has talked about any set more than evo skies literally a set that will define this entire pandemic era go buy 1 if you still don't own it.... Anyone speaking otherwise isn't an actual investor and is a quick flipper yea those guys will lose out for sure most of us collectors personally I'm looking to scooping 5 more moon kittys for my personal collection. I invest and collect pokemon myself and If I had more cash I'd be going even heavier than i am on these swsh alts. DO what y'all wanna do I'm gonna scoop more alts rn while prices are still cheap
I think some alts jumped way to much in the last spike! The umbreon V almost doubled. So I feel some of them should come down. They shouldve only increased by 20/25%.

I wonder if this is an effect of people appreciating the Illustration Rare's we've seen in TEF and TWM (and prior sets in SV also) and momentarily taking a little attention off SWSH? The Greninja SIR from TWM has pulled insane attention selling at nearly $700 in a PSA10 and the Illustration Rares from both TEF and TWM are hot property atm. There also looks to be a TON on offer in the near future in SV. I mean if I'm honest, as much as I love the SWSH Alts, some of these SV Secret Rare Arts are just as incredible 🔥 Also shoutout to Aura for pointing out the Eevee on the Sylveon VMAX, I never noticed that!
I agree with your daughter on the giratina! lol I pulled it and never liked the art much. Sold it at a card convention and was able to use that trade in value to nearly complete my 151 set (4 cards left to go! All SIRS completed) as well as bubble mew and a TM booster box 🥳 it was a great day
A big factor in the alt art rise to begin with was the coordinated buyouts that occurred a few months ago. There are big lawsuits currently going on as a result of market manipulation on TCGplayer that certain parties have set up. The same thing happened a few months prior with Lorcana, except those cards went all the way back to their original price. A factor here with alt arts is that many of their respective sets have had their booster boxes sell out on Pokémon Center. So while they will go back down, I doubt they will go all the way back down since booster boxes are less available.
I love seeing modern drop, the prices on cards that are 11,000 in population in a 10 is unacceptable. There’s no reason a card like umbreon VMax should be the same value as a psa 8 goldstar latias. I hope modern plummets and vintage spikes.
I sniped all the sword and shield alt arts as they came out. I came across deals here and there. I don’t see these alt arts going much more higher. I think they’ll regress some more. Then stabilize!

They are all Iconic cards in the Pokemon TCG. They had a hype spike in price they are going down now. I bought my favorite alt arts and plan to hold them for the long term. They will all go back up for the long run, prices on these cards will be nice in 5-10 years.

Loads of youtubers hyped them up into a frenzy, people went absolutely fomo crazy buying them all up at top prices and now they have fallen like cards often do during the summer. Also the prices they reached were starting to get far too high and out of reach of most people. It's been quite amusing to watch tho. Nothing went wrong look at the gains on them in the last 6 months. Now it's correcting anyone that buys into fomo in anything will get a nice reality check but if you got in a couple of years ago you just ride the ebs and flows. What did people expect another 100 per cent gain after it already doubled 😂😂

I saw this exact same thing happen with the Japanese moonbreon. I sold it for 700$ when it dipped... I won't be making that mistake again.

You really hit it on the head. When they oversaturate the market, people will latch onto specific cards and just make them the price they are

The moonbreon won’t drop below $800 raw …. The art is too legendary for it to become a commoner card
