- When I started my investing journey, I WISH I knew the power and simplicity of index funds. Investing would have been so much easier and I would be SO much further along in my financial independence journey.
An index fund is designed to allow investors-that's you!-to buy little slices of all the companies traded on different stock market indexes rather than spending hours researching and actively trading stocks.
Here are just a few reasons index funds are AMAZING:
✅Diversify for less risk: You don't have to worry about picking the next best company. Instead, you own shares of all of them. That way, if one company has a bad year or folds entirely, there are plenty of other companies to balance out that loss.
✅Reduce fees to make more money: Actively managed funds with fund managers can come with high fees. Index funds do not.
✅Set it and forget it: There's no need to actively monitor your account, trying to time when to buy and when to sell. And of course, there's no need to worry about commissions on trades or high-fee actively managed funds.

In 40 years, $2.6 million MIGHT buy you a scooter!
Who got 500$ dollars at the end of the month?
Investing $500 Per Month To Become a Millionaire #personalfinance #familyfinance #financialfreedom
These people never account for inflation. It's less than half that.
Not how inflation works it would just mean 2.6 mil is worth way less prob 35ish percent
@michaelschemmel1984 500 per month for 40 years at 10% annual yield is roughly $2.6million. When you adjust for inflation bringing the yield down to approximately 7% it brings it down to about $1.2million inflation adjusted. Which is less than half. I am absolutely correct.
And in 40 years you'll need 12m to retire at the rate inflation is going
Close 7 million for most middle class families.
@@kennethb6211 less than 7 million, even at today's inflation rate.
I can't afford a house. What make you think I can afford to do this
At 5% interest that only a little over 10K per month. You're probably not even keeping up with true inflation. You're out of touch. In this inflation economy, you need inflation proof assets.
the s&p has an avg yearly return of almost double that.
If you have 500 a month extra you can throw into an account and not miss, you can already afford whatever you're looking for.
In 24 years the value of money dropped by half. With some rough rounding, in 40 years that 500 a month would have dropped by three quarters.
650k isn't anything to sneeze at, but you'd be better off buying an appreciating asset if you're actually worried.
Land would be the classic example, housing, hell even a business.
It could, but there are much better ways to invest your money and make it work for you.
In 40 years… I’ll be 60
Perfect time to have a nest egg of money that allows you to stop working.
@@MarriageKidsandMoney my goal is to not “have” to work in my 30s, but I’ll be working anyway
Now do 100 years.
I’d rather stick to crypto, idk where I’ll be in 40 years but hopefully wit more than 2m😂
Which, after inflation will be worth $350,000 at the outside.
Pair that with your Roth IRA, SS and paid off house you should be in a pretty good position.
That's not true at all. You can literally work it out based on average inflation. It would be worth the equivalent of over a million adjusted for inflation.
in 40 years your 2.5 milly will be equal to $25
40 years???
Lmao I’ll pass. This is what boomers call a win
Damn you about to work forever huh?
Normally you should pass on investment advice from short form content, but this is actually pretty good advice
@@ThisIsJakeupNo actually invest lmfao
@@ThisIsJakeup lmao I’ll prolly retire at 30. Instead of being a stupid college kid during the pandemic I educated Myself in stocks , day trading, even dabbled in nfts, I also hold 35 ETHS and 3 bit coins at 21k. I think I’ll be fine
