It's so funny how all Range Blaster needed to recover from being bottom of the food chain was to wait for armour to go away and, more importantly, gain the ability to chug a teeth-decaying quantity of red bull in a single match
it is weird that the Luna got its shot curve adjusted but not any of the blasters that actually need that sort of change
@@omegasmesh It's cuz vluna has zipcaster. Also, the other blasters would IMPROVE from that sort of change, but they don't NEED that sort of change, as seen from how they're all quite good in current meta. Nintendo wnted to buff a weaker blaster but not too much so that's what they chose
@@omegasmesh I do think it is very weird, but honestly given Luna struggles with kill time for its range unless it directs (and it’s supposed to be light and mobile) I THINK it just about makes sense
@@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 Blaster/Range Blaster are carried by tacticooler hard, even Nintendo knows this and is why they altered Luna's curve since it doesn't take advantage of tacticooler enough. the Rapids by design are always 2 shots so they don't depend on the tacticooler buff to be reliable. and the super scope, also by design, lacks the long range reliability issue of the RB since it can afford to miss
I find it cool Range was able to get a redemption arc in 3. Hopefully Dynamo gets that redemption too someday

@@CaprielleHarmony I feel it’s more of a sidestep because a vdynamo has a good kit. The gold kit is a ton of fun though
Dynamo as a main definitely needs buffs as the Vanilla kit is pretty good, plus Kensa dynamo needs to be in the game burst/angle shooter would be a decent alternative to sprinkler I'd say.
In a quick respawn + shooter meta? Nah

Been playing range for a bit now, it is very team dependent but works so well in this game compared to splatoon 2, also range and s-blast having different strengths is really nice balance wise

How epic would it be if instead of just slapping on a lame sticker, they made the Custom Range Blaster have Blue flames instead of orange and red?
That way we could have the red/orange flames on the vanilla range blaster, blue flames on the custom range blaster, and of course, green flames for the grim range blaster.
thats the color I was thinking. With the new kits Nintendo has seemed to always change the color scheme of them so I don't think range will only get just a sticker especially since they're taking so damn long to give the vblaster and range blaster second kits it better be worth the wait meaning I wanna see blue flames and I want range with splat bomb kraken. I feel if range gets its kit next season it has a high chance of getting splat bomb kraken bc we got two chumps and one kraken weapon this season so maybe to even them out they'll give us two kraken weapons and lets hope on of them is range

CRB stands for curling reefslider blaster. It is inevitable.
No it stands for crab range blaster,you wre thinking about Luna blaster or clash blaster because reefslider And curling bomb Can help them get in with their short range.

Penguitt was my main inspiration for Range Blaster the one montage for CRB with Dr.Wily theme is still a favorite of mine.
I picked up Range again after completely dropping it 2 and it has never felt better to play. Thank you for covering this weapon I look forward to the next one.

I've tried Range but it wasn't my style of sitting in a distance and being aggressive at a nice small range.
S blast and Range I can use but I'm more of a Lunar blaster guy.
I'd probably would like Range back then if I played splatoon one since blasters seem to be my favorite in 3, still it'll probably grow on me over time.

I've been a huge Chara fan since the endgame of Splatoon 2. Despite him playing Range Blaster and thus kind of inspiring me to try it out, I never really played it in that game since it felt so awful to play even with Grim Range's kit. In Splatoon 3, however, the addition of Intensify Action, the removal of Ink Armor and the Range's kit having Wave Breaker (among other factors) made it one of the most fun weapons to play in the first months of the game's lifespan. I don't really pick it too often when I need a blaster since S-BLAST exists, but I might heed your advice and try playing both it and Range, especially since the meta right now is so good for the latter.
Kind of wish the weapon would actually receive a buff or two though, which could allow it to still be good without having Cooler to back it up (i.e. decreasing Jump RNG or IA curve like they did with Luna).
ngl you should play every one shot blaster (except vluna) if you play s-blast theyre all kinda strong and play similar gameplan-wise

I has very strong intensive feelings against this weapon, why does ink brush lose 1 on 1’s against this, dynamo, and Every, Single, Weapon. That’s, it, I’m gonna create my own video explaining my toils of the inkbrush
Range may not be the meta-pick it was in splatoon 1, but for as long as I can pub-stomp with 12 kills and 0 deaths and act as the one unstoppable force keeping my team alive and coming back, it will always be a meta-pick to me.

Range blaster was so balanced that nintendo needed to screw over in the second game, we really should get the ink recovery of splatoon 1 back to all weapons

Let it be known that I vehemently HATE the entire Blaster class
range blaster was the first weapon that made me fall in love with this game, it was back in platoon 2 two, so its really great to see the brilliant weapon thriving in a way i never originally got to see it

Wait i thought blasters as a whole had no jump spread in the 1st game
Coming from one of the few that mained CRB in Splatoon 2, another reason why CRB was even worse was due to the heavier gear dependancy. In earlier patches it was a little bit less of an issue since bubbles were bigger by default. During one of the final patches of S2, Bubble Blower was nerfed to require more Special Power Up to keep a threatening amount of radius. Since the Bubble combo was one of, if not the most (more like only) threatening move CRB could perform It had to stack more SPU. On top of that, Object Shredder is also required meaning that fitting Quick Respawn, Stealth Jump, and other utility abilities all the more harder for CRB to have a chance at maintaining an aggressive playstyle compared to the other 2 Range Blasters.
I really enjoyed watching this video, here's to manifesting CRB getting it's S1 kit back.

This weapons popularity is confusing to me. Personally I could never see "charger without a charge and it has a blast too" being an accepted weapon by the community but clearly it was. It is currently such a clear weapon of showing its strengths and weaknesses and I can't really see how removing the weaknesses will allow a more accepted weapon than less. Last time that happened 52 became the most unbarable weapon to fight in the game. Just the viewpoint of someone who clearly never played s1.

Range blaster might be my favorite weapon for tower control. The exploding shots are perfect for shooting around the center of the tower, and I find the range of range blaster to be just right for both contesting the tower and defending it. Similarly, I prefer wavebreaker over regular blaster’s big bubbler because its damage and tracking are useful both for taking the tower and riding it. I don’t find myself using the suction bomb that often, but obviously it’s really good for turning half of the entire tower into a kill zone.
you can output a lot more pressure if you start throwing your bomb more - i think i say something ab it in the video but big blast radius from the blaster + big explosion from the bomb + long time before detonation = a lot of pressure. i run 1s of sub saver that might be nice to try

rapid deco is a contender of being one of the best blasters as well, over s-blast due to a great kit and great synergy with the main and sub weapons
its not really that good anymore bc 210p + inkjet rebalance. range and s-blast are definitely better (maybe luna neo too)
disagree, it's very good. jp is using both rapid deco and rapid pro deco a lot over both range and s-blast.

edit: in clicks's personal opinion tier list, s-blast, luna, and luna neo are in D tier, the lowest tier. rapid pro deco is in S tier, rapid pro and rapid deco are in A tier, and range is at the top of B tier

also theres the problem of tier lists never being objective or consistent across splatoon regions because usage rates and results heavily affect what people will think of the weapon, and if theres more rapid in jp than na (which im pretty sure there is) that will affect its tier list placement there. it cant be completely objective but i think those placements are wild. the weapon is good but i just cant see it being better than range anymore
I mean, you can disagree with the list, but jp usually has more people playing, therefore more of a weapon pool to see what is good and what isn't@@jacobcats_spl

@@jacobcats_spl I wouldn't even call it gimmicky at top level, it's just gimmicky overall. It takes about 15 seconds to reach center stage which means you effectively have half that time to actually get to use it. If they at least gave you a pittance like allowing you to keep 5 AP after it runs out (fitting with the theme of it's ACTUAL name, something along the lines of Running Start) then it *_might_* actually end up being pretty useful in general
