So wonderful. If l had known what our culture would become, l would have enjoyed my coming of age years that much more. This is class from start to finish. What a treat!😃
I was 16 years-old in 1965. We didn't get our first color tv until 1966, and I remember my younger brother and I watching the news, (of all things!) just so we could watch a color broadcast! LOL!! Remember the TV Guide magazine marking programs that were in color because they were a rarity? Our family watched Hollywood Palace every weekend and really enjoyed it. We didn't have to make big decisions about what to watch back then because there were only three networks broadcasting.. Remember, CBS, NBC, and ABC? I look back now and realize that simpler WAS better.
I remember as a teenage boy you could always count on Hollywood Palace to produce a nice leg show or two, and this is a perfect example of that. Joey Heatherton usually put on a nice leg show, but in this episode the acrobats REALLY 'out legged' her! LOL!! DAMN!!! Women really looked like women and we guys were so glad they dressed the part!!
What I like about PALACE is that it's often hosted by people who weren't going to do thier own weekly shows at that time(Save Berle and his failed '66 attempt).
I don't have masters, I'm not that well connected. :) There are DVD sets available if you search the internet, none of them official. I don't think any company clearly owns the rights to the series, which is probably why there's never been any official release on DVD, not even a "Best of" set. There's so much amazing stuff in these shows, it's the only explanation I can come up with.
I grew up on chicks like Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, Chrissie Hynde, Siouxsie Sioux, Kate Bush and Nina Hagen (the original Lady Gaga) but Joey Hetherton rules! Thanks.
Gee, even the commercials were more 'enjoyable' back then. I remember when Chiffon Margarine first came out, but I forgot it was the first soft margarine.
Wait...It gets worse Edward. Donald Trump would be elected President of the United States in 2016!! Yes, things have gone down hill since this Hollywood Palace show aired in 1965.
50:00 Gay Liberace tears off the clothes of Milton Berle -- the man with the largest endowment in Hollywood. 100% pure, family entertainment. Then there's Phyllis McGuire who dated Chicago mafia boss Sam Giancana. Stars in 1965 were more "wholesome" than today.
Wonderful to watch Joey Heatherton here. Still mesmerizing to watch her perform nearly 50 years later. :-)

Mr. Television! How this talent is missed! Name me a Hollywood Palace host that did so much in one show?

Joey Heatherton knew how to make love to a camera. And make it melt.
You don't miss what you've never had...

Hitchclock was Mr. Fields from Abbott & Costello & Cesar Romero was born in 1907 & Miltie in 1908.
Look the same to me..
Great show! But,what's with the counting numbers on the bottom of the screen? What's that all about?
It a production tape, it's counting frames, used in editing. The TV viewers wouldn't have seen those.
Is that Eddie Bracken doing the cigar commercial? 15:57
vaudelvill from 30's and 40's on tv
What happened to quality entertainment.. It's 2015. Dear god, what happened.. It resembles the effects of Nuclear Fall Out!
what happens when nuclear fall out actually occurs?
Wait...It gets worse Edward. Donald Trump would be elected President of the United States in 2016!! Yes, things have gone down hill since this Hollywood Palace show aired in 1965.
Thank God for President Donald Trump.
