The END of Van Life in Mexico (this was NOT the plan)

- An unexpected end to my time in Baja led to a 1,200 mile journey North alone through the deserts and coastlines of Mexico. It isn't the end of van life forever, but it is goodbye to Baja for now 😔

You found out what did not work and had a wonderful experience. I loved seeing what you showed. There is always a “next time” when you want to try again.
Thank you for that reframe! I couldn’t agree more :)
Baja California is beautiful, there's no question about it, but the weather is extremely warm and unbearable, especially if you are on the Sea of Cortez side. You certainly are a trooper for being courageous enough to travel by yourself in a part of the country that is generally safe, but still worrisome when you are in unfamiliar territory. Thanks for sharing your story!
Oui, the scenery! Tara pulling/leading you out of the water had me chuckling. She's adorable. So are you young lady. Thanks for sharing the video. Peace out.
Omg, when you said "this is where is went wrong" I was so nervous! You said it right though, maybe he didn't trust your spanish and he wanted to make sure you really meant 5 weeks...🤷♀️
Hey Alex so glad u follow the “gut feeling” & are heading back! What an incredible journey Ms Independent btw your Spanish is great! 💜🇦🇺🐨🍻 a bone for Terra 🦴
. Alexandria, thanks for beautiful trip in Baja.
Thank you for being here!
Priorities, and you're absolutely right - Tara comes first. :) My dog has both environmental and food allergies, and we're doing a food trial right now to nail down which proteins she can actually eat. It's not easy to give a dog a balanced cooked or raw diet in another country when an allergy is involved. I'm sorry you had to cut your journey short, but perhaps there will be another time that you'll be able to visit Baja again. I really enjoyed watching your videos from this trip. It was a wonderful experience, not only for you, but for all of us as well. Safe travels & stay well.
I love the opening, with the camera in the frig. I hope you like this limerick:
Day and night I do what I need to do
Sometimes I break a jar of soup - it's true.
Folks dismiss me as "cold"
even icy, I'm told.
and never consider my point of view.
🎉 welcome Back glad you both got to experience this life learning adventure 🎉🐾❤️
Thank you for sharing your journey! It’s awesome that you respect your internal voice and follow what feels right for you. ❤
Also those swimsuits are super cute and their ability to incorporate plastic is so cool. I’ll definitely have to check them out
Thank you for being here to share it with! And agreed, they are so comfortable and cute! They’ve been great out in the water :)
Glad you made it back to the US so Terra can stay healthy! Yes, you have many possible years ahead to go back, this really seems like the best decision for now.
Couldn’t agree more :)
💕I loved watching Tera prancing up the sand dune💕
Your dog's face when you are eating in the truck. Lol
I am sure your parents are glad you are coming back to the states! Welcome back home! Hope your puppy is doing better.
Glad you’re coming back home!
I panic every time I have to go thru airport security. The border crossing locations and military check points are SOOO intimidating. I'm not sure I could handle it. LOL
But as I shared with you on IG, I'm so proud of you for listening to your gut and prioritizing what feels right. Baja will be there next year, or maybe it won't. But you've experienced it and made some wonderful memories regardless. :)
Haha I feel ya! Nerves for no good reason😅 but agree, glad to be back and looking forward to our next opportunity to go :)
glad your back home .... 🙂
Nice job with you're Spanish at the check point ! Good for you to be learning and trying!!
I keep Sojos dehydrated dog food in my van while traveling with my dog. It’s pricey but you can keep months supply that takes up little space and makes no mess. Just need water
Hills Brothers makes specialty dog foods for allergy dogs. Most vets sell it.
Aww so sorry. Safe Travels Always Back . God bless you both . Mucho Love from your friend in Michigan, Tam
Alexandria you made the right decision. Our pets r so important. I had a dog named Tootsie who had some real medical issues when we was in yuma. Spent so much money at the vets office. She was allergic to the bird poop
Anyhow, if you go through Rosarito Beach, say hey to an old friend of our family,Helen from our old Horse racing days in TJ. I hope it doesn't rain, we had to drive on the sidewalks getting out last time.
❤thank you for bringing us along. Love the date bread❤️🥰 be safe, kind and blessed ❤️💜🦋
Thank you for being here to share it with! The date bread is fantastic 😍
You’re not alone> You’re with Terra!!
And G😮d
Safe Travels, Im sure it was a Great Visit to Baja!
Love your videos....I wish I would have been so adventurous when I was your age...now I live through you! I was really sweating for you when you were at the military border...so intimidating....just keep smiling! Loved seeing Terra on the dunes....she is a sweetheart. Looking forward to Sundays and your videos!
love your channel keep going love from scotland
Keep at it. Thank you for sharing.
omg, we miss those tortillas (and all of Baja) so much!
Omg.. you had me so nervous at that military checkpoint!
Hope your pup is feeling better soon!
She’s already doing much better, thank you!!
It’s all good girl!! You did the right choice for you and your best friend Tara ❤ there is always another time to go back again.
Thankfully so :) hope to see it again one day in the near future with a better lens!
Does your Medical Insurance Company provide you coverage when you travel in foreign countries? Mexico, Canada, etc. What is the quality of the fuel in Baja that you are putting in your truck? Gasoline and Diesel. How reliable are the repair companies in Baja for your truck and camper? How is the Veterinary service in Baja? Things to consider when you leave the states.
Nice Video Alex and Happy Sunday 🥰☺
9:23 You illustrated the exact reason I NEVER try and use a native language with foreign speaking officials. Spent 18 months in Germany and figured that English was safe and I wasn’t likely to use incorrect (or offensive) words at inopportune times.
Glad to see you're making it back home. we got plenty of places to visit in the states and you should be able to keep tara with good food too 😊
Agreed! I’ll be back one day, much more prepared :)
Love the videos and adventures im from Ontario Canada Van camper
Thank you so much! Ontario is a beautiful province :)
Wonderful to listen to stories of other women in adventure. My dog also has a chicken allergy and it’s the real deal. No bueno. Happy travels!
It’s so wonderful to connect with other women out here/online! Thank you🧡
Going to miss your video in Mexico love your video
We will too, but good things are coming!
Good video 😊
Have you been out to the East Coast North and South? Say NC mountains to the Coast. Your pup should be okay. My Chihuahua is good on the East Coast he was a Trucker pup. One day I'll take him to Myrtle Beach
Chicken Allergy ..? That's a Thing ?? Take care of that girl.. I think raw is a great diet for dogs but I'm no vet and haven't had Maxx for 10 plus years now... I sure do Miss him
I’m headed down next year!! 😃😉
Woohoo!! So excited for you :)
Great job on this video 👍
Thank you!
You need to learn how to make dog food so you can always feed her. Beef, sweet potatoes, rice, salmon...ect
That’s what I had been doing for the past week, but a lot of times it was difficult to get a range of balanced foods, so it wasn’t realistic long term.
Nothing more important than the food you feed your dog. Knowing the natural Biological diet for a dog, if you don't give it to her... You'll feel very guilty when she gets sick later in life.
Cook the meat, if that makes it easier... Just no carbs!!
@@truestory923 try not to judge. She’s doing her best! Do u eat the most healthiest foods at all times? Oh ok
Beautiful environment
Hi Alexadria, great video, rgs❤
Thank you so much!
@@SheRoamsWild you are very welcome beauty, rgs ❤
that border crossing stressed me the heck out from the comfort of my own couch...lol
Haha thankfully it was no big deal! But always a little nerve wrecking when it’s your first time :)
I like it ❤
İspanyolcan çok iyi süpersin❤
You literally passed half block away from my house in Mexicali if you went the easy way to get to the East port. Too bad you couldn't stay longer in Baja.
Wow! Such a small world. I’ll be back one day, I’m sure - it is a beautiful place with wonderful people :)
I was happily surprised to see you on the beach in Tal and Mads video.Further more delighted to hear their mention of you offering them the place you stayed as a recovery room. I'm 2a5c
Watching this vid of yours for the second time. Take and make smiles during all you adventures.
Your a awesome girl and your road dog love your channel 👍
Good video!
Thank you Aaron!
Please check out the weather I had of you when you’re going back in the states and check in advance because things are different than they were before.
Passing any kind of security checkpoint just be polite and professional. Answer questions as simply as you can, without volunteering unnecessary details, and keep in mind that the guards aren't there to harass you for fun. They have a job to do, and their incentive is to pass you through as quickly as possible. Which they can do as long as long as you don't raise flags by being argumentative, overly nervous or seeming like you're hiding something. Yes, the guards will be crabby more often than not. It's not personal, just part of their charm.
Gosh you’re beautiful. You remind of a great love I had when I was a young man. Like men normally do, I screwed it up. But you are the spitting image of her. Y’all could be twins.
Hi ave a good day love seu ❤
Big news, the weather isn't what you might be hoping for, hope you find the needed dog food soon.
It's actually been really nice! I left to find winter, and I certainly have :)
7:45 “Okay, Tara… We’re at the checkpoint, act natural.” Tara: 👀😳🙃 Lol
Alex, Thanks for the beautiful videos you post. And I have to say that you are also very beautiful yourself. Also do you take donations?❤
Thank you so much! I don’t take donations per se, but if you’d like to support our travels further, I have a Patreon listed in all of my links :) thank you!
I feel you every moment, you my heaven.shamim 💔🕊🌹✔🤝🧜♀️👏💑
Pro Tip: Never leave your documents in your truck EVER. That truck you have is extremely easy to steal, and in VERY high demand in Mexico. It's actually surprising that it hasn't already been jacked.
While I don’t disagree entirely, it’s not practical for me to have my documents on me 24/7. I’m also not at all surprised that my truck is still good & well :) to have my truck ‘jacked’ would require me leaving it for extended periods of time, not to mention that I have yet to see a single break-in let alone whole car theft here.
@@SheRoamsWild I bet those surfers who were just killed for their tires didn't see a single break-in or car theft until the night they were killed. Unfortunately you don't have to leave your truck for extended periods of time for something to happen. What kind of logic is that??
@angela-ti1np what happened is absolutely heartbreaking. They were in a completely different part of Baja than I ever went to, and for good reason. I completely avoided ensañada and TJ due to increased crime and breakins that come with being in larger cities. It’s not an excuse for what happened, but crime happens more in bigger towns, no matter what country you are in. My heart goes out to the families of the deceased.
I used to live down there, they give off a whole different vibe huh? Good people, you just have to do like the Romans.
Una mes, y una semana
❤
Oh well...
👋
Hi!👋🏼

👍💞
Terra understands Spanish no doubt 😂
Haha surprisingly she understands a lot of her commands in Spanish 😅
How is the tundra doing?
Still kicking strong!
Following your whimsey is what this lifestyle is all about. No "REGERTS"... right?
🤣🤣🤣
😂 yep!
Struggling with the rapidly warming climate. So whats leaving van life going to do for the climate? 🙄
First thing to do to help the climate is to stop geoengineering.
I was referring to the rapidly warming climate of Baja that we were in as spring approaches, and I’m not leaving the road :)
Why do you have tats on your hands and lower arms?? And why your fingers?? I really don't understand.
Why not 🤷🏼♀️
Stay away from bread if you are modelling swimwear.
