i've personally done no raiding at all except a little bit on horde side phase 1. Went alliance and just been leveling prof and preparing for 60 on 3 characters. A mage (43) paladin (41) and druid (50)

IMO have weekly lockout for the first half of the phase, then increase it to 2x a week. This gives people time to do things outside the raid to get geared up but then later in the phase when the only upgrades available are from raid they will be able to raid twice a week.

You know the problem is .... GENX we had the mentality that whoever plays more should have more and that's just the nature of it ... but GENZ are like .... i want everything in 5 minutes and PVP is too hard and complicated and whatever i prefer everyone should be constraint to our preferences. Thats not how it works .... Look at SOD phase 3, people were bithcing about getting gear in ST but then only raid log and didn't even use the items for regular playing... no pvp .. np farming no anything , just raid logging. Who gives a shit, if those who enjoy the game playing 10 hours a week want to impose the same rules as those who play 50 to 100.
You can't make the game perfect for everyone especially those who are just in it to collect items and not even play the game. Also, when i say Genz .. I'm generalizing ..some of them are very nice and respectfully but some of them are the most selfish self centered me myself and i i have ever seen. They are the same people that are ruining the community, that only care about you if you have something to give to them. The same people that when you message in chat will try and start shit or just never reply to any message. The Anti social scene never existed in vanilla... this is a new generation thing.
Double raid is perfect for those who want to gear up their mains and alts fast and play the game. But the real issue in P4 isn't gonna be raiding or gear, its gonna be runes and the lack of new interesting combos to make new builds. They are gonna do like in p3 and focus on super damage and that's a huge L. SOD in p1 and 2 was about, making new builds that were interesting and different. The runes they came out with are some of the laziest designs I've ever seen. The rogue one is another gun ability, so they basically took quick draw then said lets make between the eyes changing slow with stun and then blunderbuss remove stun and add AOE and change the name. How lazy of a design can that be... rogues arent ranged attackers .. no cloack of shadow , no anything special like mage getting healing , no new fresh special ability. Phase 4 is gonna be another damage pumping nonsense for parsing which is totally bogus.
I mean, the ones that are crying always are the boomers with 10 Jobs, 5 wives and 25 kids
I'm Gen X, I don't PVP, so what. Also, eff off about Gen Z, whiner. Most of the people who want stuff easier are older people like Gen X who work jobs and have kids. Give it up, gramps.

Ive been playing wow since PRE beta, and i have NEVER EVERRRRR seen so many people being so lazy, selfish , me myself and i. Its not just 1 out of 100 .. its every single dungeon , raid , PVP group. Everyone does what they want. If your a tank ..2 players in your group pull aggro on everything on purpose, they also use half of their ability. NEVER silence or CC anything , you can'T tell them anything or they vote kick you. If they pull aggro on 1 mob when there's a 20 mob pull they vote kick you for not having kept aggro, healers use 1 healing spell, they loot the item they want and leave group... OR if the item they want doesn't drop. They also leave. They are rude and insult everyone but if they get called for it they put you on ignore.
Ive had players message me to help them and i said sorry i can only do it in 5 minutes. And they would put me on ignore. Ive never seen such craziness in any game in my life. I played wow for over 45k hours and its everyday all day long. So, you can say what you want but your judgement towards my comment is wayyyyy less valid then mine ;)
It's been getting worse and worse, imo since AT servers back in og tbc. That was when Blizzard started to attract the "gamers" instead of adventurers. It's funny and ironic how WoW ended up being sold to Activision. And how Cata destroyed the original Azeroth, and officially paved the way to turn WoW into a "gaming" experience, instead of an adventure. And now the game is full of self centered, anti social bots, and gold buyers.
Good stuff. I think this has a chance to be the most popular phase but only time will tell.

Some of the blood moon items were really cool looking and it sucks to see them being made obsolete. An option to upgrade them to lower end 60 loot would be nice. Or add new items to end game loot that share the looks. I mean this was the only time we've actually had a totem as a weapon on shammy in OG wow. I'm not sure if they ever got one in later expans because I didn't play those but it's cool to see such an iconic weapon from early warcraft be useable finally.
As far as world bosses I think it would be neat if they added the instanced versions but the out door versions still spawn. So people who want to go after the out door bosses can still get that extra pvp aspect and also get an extra chance at loot.
I wonder how long this phase will be. Getting Tier 0.5, upgrading it, getting MC Tier 1 Set, Onyxia, world bosses, new dungeon, it’s a lot. I don’t like the Blackrock Mountain PVP thing. That’s going to make getting to dungeons a huge pain.
Why would u even go for tier 0.5 when u can just run mc twice a week and get bis?

Maybe they could do a raid version of the world boss and an outdoor, give people options?
Nah instance makes sense. Most the world bosses are just camped by the top sweaty guilds and other guilds never really get the chance

That did make the world feel alive, but look how many problems they have had with tons of people in on zone? something has to give, and I think instancing it off the lesser of two evils. you want to massive pvp, do the events they have, or go to av.
I'm tired of all the negativity and complaining from chronic, perpetual WoW players. Enjoy SoD for what it is; seasonal content. If you don't play retail or other versions than SoD, simply unsub and come back later when more content is available. I have loved SoD, and been on a month break from it playing other games, but I will return strong for phase 4 -- Super excited
Brooo im sayin. People love to complain personally im done with SoD but that’s because it’s just not for me. But I pay a $15 sub where I can play 3 other clients of the game I love 😂🤷🏻♂️ ill stick to retail but like the complaining is so bad
you can just let people reset the raid and do it again right after, just like dungeons, but it has a cap of 2/week.
the think with 2 lockdowns raids per week is that some ppl feel that they NEED to raid, i mean it´s cool that way u can find grps more ez, and if u have a week off from work you can go hard gaming

ZG and other 20 mans were always 3 day lockout, which is practically the same, but now it's just set on specific days rather than a 'random' day every week?
I think its about people experienceing the classic with some new touch ups not like tagging world bosses and sweaty pvping there and getting crushed by players with 20 years of experience haha

All sod content is puggable after like the 2nd week. 2x lockouts are perfect, I’d much rather have the choice to pug a raid if I can’t make both guild runs than only having daily activities available 6 days of the week
More raid lockouts means more PUGs during the weekends. As a weekend player, i will raid less (once per week) but at least i will raid again !

They gave us raiding twice a week so that when war within is released, people feel satisfied after a couple weeks and move to retail. Not rocket sciense to see that =)

P4's gonna come out, every streamer's gonna have their "SoD is back!!!" series of videos, they're gonna burn through everything in 2 days, play other things, War Within comes out "OMG RETAIL IS BACK!!", new raid releases in SoD "OMG SoD back again" and we're back on the cycle.

Plenty of people like to level alts in Classic, X. Don't gatekeep altoholics.
When it comes to leveling Xaryu, you need to remember this is a seasonal server. This is the only reason they have sped up leveling. If this becomes a proper server, i highly doubt they would keep that.

Sadly, the class balance this phase means I'm probably gonna quit, but I might hopefully be back for later phases. They seem to be balancing purely around the top 0.1% raid logs, and nothing else. No other reason explains why they are nerfing Warrior damage by 50%. If you look at the top 0.1%(even top 99% is not enough) of raid logs, Warriors are 30% better than the second best class, which is way too much, and they need a nerf in that aspect somehow. A 40-50% nerf will probably put those Warriors somewhere in the top 10% of classes, which is probably good. However, below even top 90% parses, Warriors are close to the top, but still beat by a couple classes.
Then you take into account that Warriors suck or are mid tier at every other aspect of the game.

What will a 40-50% damage due to those Warriors? Those Warriors make up 90% of the Warriors in game.
As someone who plays fairly casually(questing, pvping, raiding in a casual guild who wipes at least once per raid, dungeons), I just don't feel like I have the energy to fully lvl and gear out another class that is viable at those aspects.
Everything up until now has felt like filler content in SoD for me. I'm one of those people that has been waiting to experience it at 60 for sure
Just because the possibility to raid twice a week is there doesn't mean you have to do it lol. That's the whole point, to give people the option to play if they can/want.

Maybe I'm in the minority but dungeons and leveling is a big chunk of content in classic and if they don't add a heroic mode or just make dungeons harder then this is going to be like every other phase. Everyone will rush through content to raid and kill the raid bosses once and 85% of the player base will quit again. The reals are nice but like Xaryu said the dungeons get bored and need variations, difficulty options, something.... My biggest issue with SoD from the start has been the power creep we get makes dungeons boring, feel even more grindy and not challenging in any way. Classic dungeons were already easy and they just made it a joke with no dungeon scaling to account for our boost in power
Jesus christ, this community is so incredibly entitled and seem IMPOSSIBLE to please... I'm hyped AF for P4, it's my fav version of WoW by far. I'm a filthy casual tho, what do I know...
Hard pass for SoD for me. It had some fun to be had at launch with some good ideas along the way but...nah. Maybe a real (fully supported) Classic + in a couple years....sure. SoD had a great small group of devs but it wasn't really backed/supported by the company. They simply can't monitize it like they can Retail & Cata version.

Eh I’ll pass this is not the way you handle seasonal content. Sounda given us a regular grind to 60 from the start then just add 2-4 tiers at 60 with new dungeons and raids. Maybe a couple new abilities per class but runes are stupid

This thing with 150% more exp? it had never been implanted with wows classic team back in days 2005! There was a reason why wow classic had 10 million players in 2006! wasn't because the game was simple with free epic or 150% exp boost to lvl 60. The game was hard, challenging incredibly social game where you had to take time to get to know other players, and play with nice attitude with your fellow players. There was no extra % exp, there was one way! play the game! do quest/dungons or play raids.
WoW Sod could have become as popular again if they had introduced these new runes, but expanded what vanilla didn't offer much in early 2005, more quests in those sparse zones, more dungeons for low levels, more battlegrounds! More crafting recipes, added more Elite quest, for elite guest generate the social aspects of the game! you get to know new players that way. Add ,more wings to Scholo, BRD, strath, or even make new dungons in vanilla style!! or add Heroic mode to the game, and add "Heroic tokens you can buy material for crafting items! that creates value for farming and playing more!

We got 1 new dungeons since phase 1, class balance is terrible, communication is terrible, they took very long to release phase 4 to milk your bank accounts, when are you realizing you are getting abuse and go play other games ?
After being told about phase 3 being extended, i just took a break and went to play other games. Its not like we have to stay on the same game all the time

Isn't it about time we got a new bg? and a complete overhaul of Av? I mean seriously so many things could make AV much better. Just a few to mention:
Use the ticket drain system...8 hour avs are stupid.
Get rid of the horrible imbalanced terrain like the one way choke point bridge horde have to cross...the wall hopping crap that allies can exploit skip...the unfair tower- bunkers. The ridiculous amount of materials needed to hand in for events inside...The afk farmers...the stupid quests that see many questing in a friggin team match ...the nodes people just join to farm...the imbalanced NPCs guards. That one side can bypass...most of all the fact it's a PvE race...
Why is it so hard to make some new bg? People love pvp... especially those on a pvp server...we don't give a crap about fighting ai...that's for nerds...we enjoy fighting unpredictable real people.... that's where the best rewards should be... fighting a stupid ai is just doing the mechanics and mundane...We need people with real imaginations on the dev team...give me control of making a bg and you'll have the best damn pvp zone ever.
