Check the oil pressure switch by the dipstick, they leak oil through the switch, the plug is probably full of oil and causing the oil light to come on.(If it was on due to lack of oil pressure it would be knocking it's arse off) The other common Corsa issue on that engine causing the Hunting (revs going up and down) will be the rocker cover Theres a Pcv Positive Crankcase Breather valve that goes tits up, best change the whole cover as it comes with the gasket. (A misfire would put the engine management light on )
The thrust bearings on the crank are probably knackered, the flywheel is rubbing on the engine block when you put your foot on the clutch, these corsa engines can suffer from this.
Firstly there are no friends in business l think this guy new what was involved and passed it on to you with a sob story even though it brings in video footage for the channel he’s taking advantage in my humble opinion
A good days work Mark unfortunately that car has been run into the ground by the previous owners and this guy has basically brought someone else problems and the current owner needs a deep pocket to sort it out. Hopefully next time he decides to buy a car he comes to you or at least pays you to look over the car before parting with his money.
when i was 17 i owned a mk1cortina which had teeth missing on the fly wheel(ring gear ?) i used to have to rock the car in gear before starting it instead of replacing the fly wheel went to local ford dealer bought a new ring gear put a blow torch to the old ring gear which then expanded removed it heated up new ring gear then fitted it jobs a gud un
This guy will prob jump in the car and drive off and say to you I will pay you later when I got work never to return ,no payment no car cos that is what is going to happen
You have done your bit Mark, I do hope the geezer aint a rip off merchant, you have been doing this job for yonks now, and can smell a rat from miles away, but see the colour of his wonga that you agreed on.... before he gets the keys...😉
Look at the metal particles on the gearbox oil filler? Not sure about this car. Don’t give credit. You would probably not get your money. Be careful Mark.

I would have thought there'd be plenty of used Corsa flywheels at the scrappy for £30 or less.
