How smart some people think they are! You never trim the hair away from their eyes…they do not have lashes like other dogs & the hair protects the eyes…dogs are not people. They run play rough dust dirt other small object become stuck on surface & can lead to infections! You’ve just Endangered that animal! The hair’s there for a reason!
Trimming the hair in front of the eyes is perfectly safe and standard grooming practice. I do agree that the health of your dog is of the utmost importance and if you have any concerns a veterinarian would be the best person to speak with.

You are not giving this Coton the correct grooming cut. It is a Coton de Tuleur, not a Shih Tzu. This is a terrible cut!
Many pet owners don’t want their pets in the breed standard trim and I’m happy to give them the haircut they request
