Since Morbid Stuff's release, I have not stopped listening to that album. It is just so relatable and catchy- yet dark. I listen to it through all my moods haha.
I just saw them on their first post-covid tour and lets just say your comment was highly accurate. It was amazing, they play as if it is their last show ever.
Pup was the last band I saw live before lockdown. It was in a small venue in Eugene Oregon. My family came (I have very cool parents), my best friends came, fellow lovers of music. It was magnetic. I left that show thinking about how there is nothing I love doing more than screaming along in a room full of sweaty strangers and friends. This was so comforting.
Dissonance and resolution. Tight hard driving rhythm. Upbeat Nihilism. Total commitment in every performance. Haven't stopped listening since I heard these guys a few years back. Keep those cords healthy Babcock.
This is the first band I had ever heard directly reference my hometown in a song and it’s strangely comforting? Hearing someone else’s perspective makes everything a little easier and a lot more bearable.
An actual *home* concert feels really good in this series. This is not to say that other performances in a proper set are bad, this one just seems a lot more intimate and genuine! Anyway, thanks for keeping Tiny Desk going!
I get joy watching/listening to PUP that I don't get from many bands/artists. Fun tunes, good dudes, don't take themselves too seriously but still somehow always sound good. This made my day.
I happened to stumble upon this band through tiny desk. Never heard of them before. And I'm in love with their sound. They remind me of old atdi. The wall of sound is perfection and I just want more! Also, the drummer look so chill While he's playing. I love it.
PUP was the last concert I hit before the pandemic, and it was a huge watershed experience that got me through grad school apps. It's meant a lot to me this past year, and it's always nice to come back to this recording!
You know, while watching this and dancing around my living room, I actually got that feeling of seeing a LIVE show again. It's been a while, so thank you so much PUP
I totally want like a whole hour set at the NPR offices of PUP sometime next year. This is amazing. We get closer to a Death Grips Tiny Desk every day.
Idk man, kinda not the same being crushed between a bunch of large, sweaty dudes screaming out in passion together in love and unity. Wait, were talking about a PUP show right?
Amazing live. I believe he told us in DC we were the first crowd where the mic hit him in the mouth that many times on the opener. Drummer is a monster too. They contained his sound well for something this scaled down.
PUP is the best band of our entire generation, and it'd be a disservice to the fine desks at the NPR office to NOT have Stefan come back and stand on them screaming about meeting at the reservoir.
Fantastic! Had tickets to see these guys about a week before live venues were shut down in Seattle and I passed on being in a crowd. Still have my tickets. Thank you NPR and PUP.
PUP should invite their neighbors to their gigs following the safety protocol. That could be a good way to be accepted into the "community" (if PUP cares) while given them a good dose of energy.
Any Dead Milkmen fans here feel like PUP kinda sounds a lot like them? Particularly the vocals? (And, of course, I mean this in a good way. The Dead Milkmen are awesome.)
I've seen them twice, got nixed at Shakey knees last year on account of the old covid curse. Hope to see these boys soon, highly recommend their live shows!
God tier band. They literally have no bad songs
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a fact!

This is pure fun, even for an old dude of 61 years old. I had the pleasure of experiencing the early punk in the late 70's. Keep on going guys.
Would punks in the 70’s wear face muzzles because the governor in their state mandated them? Is ‘obey authority’ very punk?
Michael Ray Probably lol

Just cause you're sad again...it doesn't mean you're special.
You'll def love their first ep and the 2 full length before morbid stuff, All songs. ALL
This one hits a lil different. PUP was the last show I saw before the World broke.
Same! I saw them in Eugene it ended up being either their last or second to last show before the tour was canceled. Truly a magical night
Same! I saw them in Nashville, Tennessee. Great performance.
Saw them in Seattle in March a couple days before they cancelled the tour, feels like a life time ago
I was gonna see them in a Sacramento on March 14th 2020. I think we all know how that ended up

Listen to their south o' the border friend Mr. Jeff Rosenstock.
this feels like a highschool band trying to cover pup songs in their drummer’s mom’s living room, and it’s beautiful
Stefan trying not to yell too loud is incredible
behind every great drummer is a parent(s) cool enough to tolerate a drum set
Took me eight minutes to realize he was using the suitcase as a kick drum. Awesome.
It only took me 4 minutes cause that’s when I read your comment 😂
12 minutes because i read this comment... guess im the dumbest lol. Thought it was just a sign in front of the kick drum
These guys are always so tight with their performances.
Scorpion Hill is such a beautiful and sad and heartfelt song that is just amazing and a punk rock classic at this point already! Live it is amazing

Idk I think Mabu takes the cake. DVP is hella good though
Old Wounds and Full Blown Meltdown disagree
"Your sister thinks that I'm a freak !!!!!" - one of the greatest & funniest opening lines in modern punk :D
