@@jamdc2000 my apologies man, I misunderstood, thought you were talking negatively of his build. I think I meant to reply that to a different comment. I agree with you, I think it’s an awesome feat of homebrew engineering 🍻
My buddy bought a MK4 R32 new back in the day. I was so jealous! The upside, he use to ask me to drive it cuz I was awlays a gear head, car junkie use to speed. He was always slightly nervous to push it to its limit. I ended up building a MK3 Jetta VR6. Was never as fast as his R32, and wasn't all wheel. But it was on nuespeed coilovers and, 17" Koenig wheels, Pirelli tires..It skated along side the R32 in the corners. Miss the VDUB days. I remember the R32 was only biilled at 240bhp, but I think it was one of those gentlemen agreement deals to underrate them..Probably some tax breaks or something. Felt more like 300BHP. Rant over!
You do you man👍 Id be drawn to the supercharged r32. Love that instant throttle response 😍. But the belt constant belt shredding would drive me nuts. Nice work on both rides 👏 I drive my b5 a4/s4 cel to cel myself. Its a vw/audi thing. You get accustomed to it. You actually start to believe its normal, lol. Im currently 95% rebuilding my b5 a4 1.8 stroker. Suspension will be only used part. About 10k mi on that. Hopping for some reliability after that.... at least 50k, but 100k would be better. Keep on wrenching 🍻 and enjoy your rides. We have maybe 10 yrs of possible daily drivability with ICE 😪
Had a MK4 R32 in Deep Blue Pearl that's the best color VW has put out in my opinion. But I would take the Reflex Silver one in a heart beat! Nice save on the Black Magic Pearl R32. Lost my R32 to a flood and insurance didn't want to fix it put alot of blood, sweat and tears in the build in time I had her wish I still did.
I still don't know "etiquette" on commenting on older videos on UA-cam despite having been here for years and years, but just wanted to say I absolutely love the MK2 Golf Country tribute of sorts, I've loved those since I spotted one at a local car show here in Norway, and I'm an avid supporter of being able to build your cars as you like, albeit within limits, as in make sure you're not customizing a mint condition rare model, as I feel there should exist at least one stock form model just for preservation so to speak. The MK4 R32 is not super rare, and the fact he even went as far as doing it to basically a parts car that'd never see the road again in it's original form, is basically the optimal way to make builds like this, and I love it! I'd go as far as saying he basically saved a MK4 R32 from becoming nails, and via making tribute to the MK2 Golf Country no less, I feel the MK2 Golf Country is oddly rare though, I've seen one once, so at least not common in Norway, I see a lot more BMW E28 Touring around than I see MK2 Golf Country, and BMW never made a E28 Touring ( they were built by Schulz in Germany. )
I occasionally see his R32/Country running around Lexington Ky. It defiantly catches your eyes and sounds great. Wasn't aware he had a normal R32 as well.
Both look and sounds great! Never saw these around when I lived in KY... My cousin had a Golf Country when those were new. Cool car. Needs a road trip to Silver Lake sand dunes up in Michigan!
Dude! I love every single Second from this Video, Gold, Awesome! Greetings from Germany and R32 Owner. Only one Solution (Air Intake) from you grinding my Gears: Why the F you dont simple use Map-Pressure on ME 7.1.1 with hole new Mapping behind and instead you use the Original MAF and make the longest Way from your Vortech all over Asia two times around the World to your Drivers-Side. THIS is just Stupid, BUT the other 15 Minutes (so basically 98% of the Time) your Content is pure legit platinum MK4R32 Shiiiiit and we love it, you make 4 man over 35yo very very happy with this. Best Regards
Couple really sick builds!! Hard to go wrong with ANYTHING VR. The lifted one is perfectly executed for homage to the golf country, plus its like one on steroids with that drivetrain, long travel coilover/ sway disconnects and some badass looking skid plates/ bash bumpers/ spare tire carrier. 😎 I love the BBS CH and the wrinkle black charge piping/ catch can/ reservoirs, etc. I do a lot of the same 'stealthy' looking stuff, as I think it looks best. The bay looks great and being a fab guy myself I can appreciate all the custom work for sure!😀 They both look like a blast to drive and 300+ AWHP is more than enough to get you into trouble 😉 Thank you very much for sharing these! 😁👍👍💪✌
I love it actually. Not anything I would do personally but I like the effort put into this 4x4 build. 👍 The silver, supercharged R32 is more my style. 😎
Have you added subframe spacers that would help with driveshaft angle maybe you already have i dont really know anything about lifting vws. Also could you not build a sold strut mount spacer that prevents it fron over extending like i said just an idea i dont really know anything about lifting things
I love the wheels on the street R32. Both are sweet cars. R32 has been my dream car since 2004. I bought my GTI in 05 and can’t justify a R32 yet. I’ll probably just AWD and big turbo because the price is crazy on R’s. Owner has a great attitude and glad to see him on the drivers side of things.
Cool to see a couple awesome builds like this that are kind of close by, Kentucky is only about 45 mins away from me..25-30 with a little spirited driving lol.
The lifted R32 is absolutely not ruined. 100% not my taste in cars but it’s his car and considering the car had a savage title I’m happy he found a way to keep the R32 alive. Plus he got a stunning road worthy R32. This guy is doing good things.
First, I will say this is effing awesome! BUT, the suspension does look soft/bouncy. My jeep setup is stiff but smooth. Takes major bumps like a prerunner truck while other vehicles are bouncing all over. You did alot of things I wouod desire adding to my MK4 FWD TDI Golf
R32s are so rare in Canada I don't have an opinion. It's a car I have never seen, and can never have. This is coming from a guy who has owned a Phaeton, converted a w12 Phaeton to 1.8t and rwd, and have also owned 11 Passat W8's!
I´m from Germany. Nice project these homage to the MK2 Country! It´s so nice to see these cars in the States. The Mk4 is the car of my childhood, but also now, here are driving a lot of these around here. But very less R32, more 1.8T
What i learned about breaking cars, is that people complain about cars going to waste till you have one up for breaking, I had to scrap my a3 quattro 1.8t 180bhp quattro, nobody wanted any bits hardly, besides the shocks and springs and some minor bits, I couldn't afford to fix it myself nor did I have the skill
silver one, perfection!!!!🤌 black one, also very interesting, the only thing i would change i the front of mk4 jetta, to make it more square. just a thought 😉
Fuck yea. A totaled R is exactly the car you do that to. Like he said, it's not even supposed to be on the road. So fuck it. Have fun with it. Well done.
What a pity it seems that the mk4 is so "hard" to lift. I own a 4motion wagon tdi, wich in my opinion would look awesome lifted. But it already has the heaviest springs for the mk4 stock and there are very few guides for lifting a 4motion in the rear so I'm kinda stuck with my Ideas, this video helped me figure some things out, although I'd whish for a simpler solution up front. Awesome build anyways!😎
I really like how the off-roader looks, but was an R32, a literally limited edition car really necessary for it ? Honestly you could just slap a normal Mk.4 on there and any other random V6 or other engine, and it would be the same thing.
Hi I am a Skoda car owner in India. My Car has 1.0 TSI ,3 Cyl, 113 Bhp, 178 NM, GDI without port injector on intake valves. I have a few questions and would be grateful if an experienced person like you can answer:- 1. The recommended engine oil is 0w30 on the owners manual. The place where I like the temperature is about 40 Degree Celcius for 6 Months, 15 Degrees for 3 Months, 30 degrees for 3 months. Is this engine oil for this temperature ok? 2. Skoda recommends changing Engine Oil every 15K kms, Spark Plugs every 60K kms. Should I replace these at these recommended intervals or sooner? How much sooner? 3. If I drive it more aggresively will it have a positive effect and reduce carbon buildup on the intake valves, or will have a negative effect and increase blow-by and hence increase carbon deposits? 4. Should I drive in Non-Turbo range i.e below 1750 RPMs to prolong the engine life as I won't kick in the turbo at these revs and would have less pressure on the engine. Or is it bad for Turbo and ruin it instead? 5. How much can I expect this engine to last if I followed the service schedule fully, used top tier 95 octane fuel and baby'ed the car? Thanks and Regards
That car absolutely is not ruined at all that is amazing it is literally an off-roader nothing is as cool as that
Agreed. Everybody else is doing the same old thing - this is something different. I like it!
Like Golf 2 Offroad Edition
At first the title of the vid threw me off as I thought the off road version was a totally car.
It was gonna be scrap but he made use for it.
Ruined for sure
Speechless... what a piece of home garage engeneering
Why do you care so much about what this man does with one of his two mk4 r32’s?

This R32 it's the best VW 4x4 sound ever. Amazing work done!! The next thing must be a new interior according the rest of the car. Congratulations!!!
Better than being a parts car! Gave it a new life. Love the build and respect the drive.
This man is a LEGEND! I love his honesty, and all the work he put in.
I don’t think he ruined it. I’ve been waiting to see someone do this to a Mk4 golf. Such a dope platform. And the guy just seems cool
Love this guy, so happy and humble. This is how you should live. Enjoy life!
This dude is awesome, I bought a Vr from him a couple years back. I'm gonna have to ride up to wookies with him next year.
Awesome owner with plenty to say and explain. Would have a beer with for sure.
That off-road R32 is pretty damn sweet! Keep up the great content! That VR6 engine sound is pure bliss!

wonderful build , im jealous would love it for a beater
This is the coolest car I've ever seen.
Love Country remake. Maybe use that grey thing for parts? ;)

As someone who is about to lift a tdi bug, this is beautiful 😩🤣
Both cars are awesome
