Denis, your an absolute gentleman and an outstanding blacksmith. Tom's 5th anniversary mass is this month and its a really lovely tribute you included this for me. I deeply appreciate all your work and keeping it old school. Just hammer and great imagination....If Tom saw this video he would have said..."By God, its not his first time with the hommer"!!! Thank you Denis
I do have a series on how I make tongs. This link is for part 1. Part 5 is on bolt tongs - if you just want to learn how the jaws are formed. If you have any questions let me know.ua-cam.com/video/EdbGUcnSBno/v-deo.html
I actually answered that in a short video a couple of months ago. Check the link. ua-cam.com/video/i5p0WcFHIJk/v-deo.html if you have any questions let me know. A few people have also commented that they use magnets but I haven't had much luck with that.
it's hard for me to not think of some projects with a welder fabricator mentality, and start thinking in s blacksmith mentality. eventually both thought processes will benefit each other, but now it's confusing sometimes.

Excellent tribute photo at the end. Really puts a face to the story. Thanks for including that in your video.
Apparently that picture was taken on his 80th birthday
..Mr Denis, your ability is just simply Astounding !!!...
Another good one Denis. Thanks
Did you make the heading tool? that is quite spectacular. Of course your tongs are great as well
It is a shop made header but I didn't make it. I found it at a yard sale. The shoulders and the dies where machined and the hinge was forged
Thanks
Excellent
Thanks
Great video. I was wondering if you could do a video about V bolt or Box cut tongs? I would greatly appreciate it.
