Your videos are an example to all UA-camrs. No unecessary 'music', no boring chat but excellent photography showing just what you are doing. You are also an exceptional blacksmith.
Bless your workmanship. I am no blacksmith but I always enjoy watching a master craftsman in any trade at work. Brilliant video, informative, entertaining, and the finished product is stunning,
It is truly an honor to watch u make cool and useful stuff, and I especially like that u show what they are for after u build it ,thanks from the United States
Your inner sense of music shows through your hand movement, just as it does through the choreography of your video editing, and your design process (and explanation).
All of your videos leave me speechless. Your proficiency as a blacksmith is beyond exceptional, and dare say your skills with cinematography and editing are equally impressive. No doubt the 17 minutes I just spent watching your video will be the most beneficial use of my time today! I'd love to see plans for that guillotine also. Thank you for posting your video.
GPaulSalvetti Ha ha, thank you very much! The guillotine is basically a ripoff of the "smithing magician" found here - www.blacksmithsupply.com/catalog.aspx?StoreName=blacksmith_supply&DeptID=269444 - I have no other plans.
Torbjörn Åhman+GPaulSalvetti I so agree with GPaul to watch your skill and finesse is a great pleasure and learning experience plus your videography improves all the time! Sometimes I can feel the metal moving to your coaxing...awe inspiring! Thanks for the link to the "magician"...really a versatile tool. Also wanted to ask if you ever sketch your pieces before you start or do you just go from your head to hands with it? Thanks Very Much! ~PJ
pjsalchemy Thank you! Great! I often do sketches, it helps when you think through the working steps. I did a sketch for this one, shown briefly with the stating title. Had no other place for it...
i know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I love any assistance you can give me.
That was the most beautiful and masterfully crafted piece of metal i have seen on you tube. I know it was just a pair of tongs, but every hammer blow had a reason and was carefully planned out. Each heat was for a specific temperature and no higher. Well done.
Beau travail. Merci
This is outstanding work, it really makes me appreciate the man who invented the steel laser cutting machine, if you ever meet him please give him a double bells on the rocks.
This is a work of art. Exceptional high skill set and an incredible talent being shown here in the making of these tongs. Thank you very much for sharing. I'm setting up my forge and have this to look forward too. Quite inspirational in fact, another reason why I've taken up smith work. It's so important to keep traditions alive. Thank you again from Ireland.
Incredible absolutely incredible, both the blacksmithing itself as well as the cinematography was exceptional. Such a joy to watch so thank you sincerely for taking the time to share this ~Peace~
kolejny raz jestem zachwycony efektem Twojej pracy.
And great it is, Sir 😊. I am grateful for your Like and looking forward to see more of your extraordinary craftmanship. I really appreciate that there are still people nowadays, who take their time to create a valuable tool or piece of art. Continue your work!
+Matthew Marting On this piece there were allot of filing done... and if you are careful drawing down on the power hammer you can get really smooth results.
I've just watch the video, and I don´t know what to say. Amazing work, as allways. Once upon the time, I try to make a pair of tongs based on a video of yours. What a shame! I need to practice much more before I can do such a perfect work! Mr. Ahman, congratulations!
Torb, Lovin your style, loving your forge, lovin tools, loving work and also loving your dress sense in the forge!! As always another brilliant video. Thank you for taking the time film this!!
What a great video ! I was so impatient to have a new one of your job ! And again it was a great work and a good inspiration ! I hope you had fun making those tongs and i'm hoping to see more of your work !
Great demo video! Those are perhaps the nicest ember tongs I have seen to date. I find your videos to be very informative and have used your methods on many of my own projects. Very well done my friend!
Beautiful video, I enjoyed it :) You are skilled craftsman, you remind me Peter Ross and his series "Blacksmithing for woodworkers". Thanks for sharing your creations with us, thanks for your time and effort to make these videos. Best regards from Slovakia!
you will be just a pile of dust and long forgotten memories when some future generation of yours will be tending to the fire and his child asks, where did those cool tongs come from ? then you will get to be reborn in the memories and stories of this future generation whom you will probably never know. He will start with well son, there was there was this man who built things out of steel.......
What sets you apart from so many other smiths is your utter attention to the details. "as forged" is great and can look/function very well, but a smith that spends the time to hand file and fit his forged pieces is a step above the rest. One issue I've struggled with as a smith... the fine line between "good enough" and "perfection" since the latter takes 3 times as long. but you can't always charge 3 times as much.
Your videos are an example to all UA-camrs. No unecessary 'music', no boring chat but excellent photography showing just what you are doing. You are also an exceptional blacksmith.
Thanks Gerry!
Precise, complicated, lovely work. Most people do not understand how difficult it is to do that.
Thanks
An absolute work of art!!!! Love watching this MASTER at work !!!! This guy is very GOOD!!!!! Beautiful
Thanks!
One of the best blacksmithing videos I have seen on UA-cam ever!
Andrew Pershall Really? Thank you!
Torbjörn Åhman Yeah, I had no idea how the tongs were going to work until about 11 minutes into the video. Great work!
Incredible video and workmanship.
OrionsAnvil Ha ha, *bowing infront of the audience* :) Thanks!
Bless your workmanship. I am no blacksmith but I always enjoy watching a master craftsman in any trade at work. Brilliant video, informative, entertaining, and the finished product is stunning,
Alan Byrne Thanks again!
I enjoy the fact that your work can be displayed and there is no need for chatter as you create
Thanks

Nice seeing some finishing and detail work with crisping up the edges and filing down the rivet heads. I could watch this all evening, and just might.
Thanks!

Thanks!
Very nice project!! I'm also happy to see that you haven't forsaken your hammer and anvil in favor of your power hammer!!

How the hell is your final work so clean? Surley hammer control only goes so far... Not a single ding or dent on the piece that I could see. Amazing
