I have one of the highest win rates/bb per hr in the world and in the top 1% statistically speaking, so when weird shit was happening, I got bad vibes and just left entirely. Been playing Texas Holdemn for 24 years since I was 11 years old and I won't play online anymore.

The better the bot the less likely it makes these mistakes, such as not distinguising between an overbet being 2x pot or 10x pot. Playing badly against clickitback 3bets/ 4bets either preflop and/or postflop. Older bots played ridic vs very small bets , you could just murder them with 1/4th pot turn and river donking, nowdays its not working vs most anymore. It doesnt mean poor playing at all, it means you know how to exploit them. Talking about midstakes online.

I quit online to focus on live poker and I know make a living playing live poker . 1/3 and 2/5 games and I make enough that I dont have to work a regular job. I usually play 4four 8 hour sessions per week and average 4000 profit a month. yes there are down swings but there has ben times ive cleared 6000 in a week.

I have not let myself play online though as most of the thrill of poker for me is is bonding with folks that simply want to take each other's money 😂 and I love when I table talks crap to each other, has a mix of folks who play rather traditionally, some play wild and others just being verse. I like looking for tells and feeling the energy. I am not as lucky as you on cash games as I sometimes win a few thousand but more times than not loose at least thousand. I really do "I am no baller" I do have a rather tournament win/loss ratio though. I Perhaps I win over 50% of any tournament I enter but can not always make the money monopoly money like I do in a tournament. I fold too much in cash games

The problem is usually not with the RNG itself, but the different cheating methods other players (and may the poker room itself 'cheats' using their own house bots) can use from real time assistance to colluding.

In very few jurisdiction on Earth it is considered cheating/ stealing by law when somebody cheats in online poker. Its so ridic. Even if was illegal punishable by prison time there would be people who still risk it as money is so good in it. So what do you think happens when all your punishment is that you need to find another identity or room to cheat on and you only lost couple buyins you kept on your account balance.

Yeah, it’s not worth playing online anymore, there’s just too much risk of cheating. When games got harder, I stopped being a winning player online around 2015 anyway and just gradually lost interest, I go to the casino for a game if I get the itch. Chess online is the same way now, though at least you aren’t getting your wallet raided when you run into engine users 😂

Then I wondered if something changed because he could no longer get to a final table. How could he go from getting to a final table a few times a week to getting to a final table zero times in a year?
You know if there are bots in the tournaments, they can't see his hands... They're just playing gto poker. Bots are not unbeatable, so it could either be a bad downswing or he's just not improved enough over the years. Poker has changed a lot over the last few years. Maybe he hasn't kept up with it and just isn't good anymore.
Online sites keep players around as long as possible to rake every penny. They saw all their new players loose all their money first day and fixed that problem

I think the only way to mess up the bots is mixed games that does not include Holden as it 100% solved .Not impossible but having a bot played 8 to 9 games perfect would be super expensive and hard to develop
