How about Greg Merson 2012!?!!??? He won event 57 for $1.1 M then right after won the main event for like $8M…day 5 had less than 2 BB…still won the whole thing…all while beating an opiate addiction.

I'm just a random fan of his who found clues on 2+2 poker forum and googling his info and found a belgium poker forum where someone called him Jonas. I found an old social media page with his date of birth and that he played in a wsop 5k 6 max live event one year. Havent seen his name in the modern GG Poker high stakes games. Heard he made rare appearances at 2-5 zoom on stars after dissapearing from stars high stakes. I emailed a detailed report to high stakes database how I found his name and they quickly, publically released his name.

I once won with 11$ and 1.10$ satelite ticket to 55$ torunament and took first place for 13,404$ then i made in that period a second final table and i bluff i remember verry bad spot and take another 3000$ something like that then i go down in flames stop playing such long hours but rathet have fun and alchool and drugs everything lost on slot machines bad lifestyle bad decisions i was young but i have that dram of make something alone !! i did it but what happened next its drama get banned forever on stars because of bad behaviour sending mails etc 🥶✌️ i cannot change nothing now but it is what it is
