Showing my 13 in-ground fig trees. These represent 11 varieties. A couple of these I have to go back in my records and remember the variety name. I also have a few in pots that I did not show.

I live in north FL about 30 miles from the GA line, and the Texas Everbearing has been a big disappointment for me. I've read that it is just another name for brown turkey? Anyway, it died back to the ground three years in a row, regrowing to almost 6 feet all every year and has NEVER made a single fig. I managed to save it from freeze damage this winter and we're starting from 5 feet tall this year but so far no signs of any figs... Thanks for your video!

@quintyoung have you fertilized it at all? I don't really like to use man made fertilizers, but I have struggled the last several years so I did take some advice and threw a handful of 13-13-13 around each of my figs. It does seem to have helped.

They look good and healthy! I hope to complete our fig tour videos in the next week or so. I heard you mention the pawpaws . I've tried a couple times and failed with them ... But man I want to grow some so bad

I was able to figure out what one of the "forgotten" varieties are in the video; LSU Gold.

Try air layering on the suckers

In the past, I have successfully done both air layering and rooted cuttings. This year I plan to just let them do whatever they want

Not so sure I would call it crunchy. Last year I thought the heat had made it a little tough on the outside, but in hindsight it may just be what I would consider a "chewy" fig. Here is a link to last year's tasting.
