I think ALL OF US would LOVE to see a After Glen Reunion - and there is really reason for it not to happen. Small venues? So the LA Forum, to which tickets literally sold out in less than a minute, is a "small venue"? The NJ Prudential Center, which holds almost 20,000 people is a "small venue"?... ???... You're kidding right? How can you imply they aren't "relevant" anymore and yet, still say they're "selling out shows"? How does that work? If they weren't "relevant" anymore, there's no way in hell they would sell out shows (and some of these sold out shows weren't/aren't in "small venues").
No offense, it's cool if you like the Graves-era material. To each his own. To me, I'll always prefer the Danzig-era Misfits. That's what started it all and now that they've chosen to reunite and perform together again, that's what's got fans really excited again. I do like a couple of Graves-era tunes but, to me when Graves joined, they lost that "fire", their original "bite" and became just another ordinary, mainstream-radio-friendly "metal band".
To me, it was a "safe", "sanitized", almost "Di$ney-fied" version of The Misfits. No more swearing on songs in new albums so as to not be a "bad example" on young kids who got into them during that time. I mean, I don't need swearing in music I like at all *_BUT,_* with a band like The Misfits, it "fit" with the image, attitude and music of the band. Everyone that got into the classic Misfits, knew what to expect. They knew what they were getting into music-wise. It was fast, loud, crass and abrasive. When Graves joined, they lost that and it dulled a lot of the "edge" the original band had...

Great interview. Doyle had always been approachable, great guy. And we're on the same page with the vegetarian thing, so bonus! Learned something new. I knew there weren't going to be any more reunion shows, Danzig said the exact same thing. It's all just Jerry running his mouth, wishful thinking, because the Jerry-led "Misfits" sucks ass. Badly. Only is just a shitty songwriter. When I started seeing film titles as the track titles (ie Friday The 13th, etc), I knew he had officially jumped the shark and there was no hope. Only is just nothing without the Misfits brand, that's why he kept suing for it... Nobody gives a shit about a would-be Jerry Only Band. Let's put it this way. Doyle is Only's brother... And Doyle couldn't even stand being in the band with him so he left! Any talk about more shows is just Only doing wishful thinking. Someone threw enough money at the original members to the point that they finally agreed to do a few shows, they were offered too much money to turn it down... But that's it, Jerry. Now go sit in the corner.
