in 1995 i was 13 and when i first listened to this shit, it just blew me away. i loved it so fucking much, i cant tell you. now i hope that there is ja 13 year old kid who will be blow away the same way that i was blown back then.
My sister was a sound engineer and she has exploded my brain several times. once in the 70s by buying me a copy of apostrophe by Frank Zappa and in the 90s with this CD. I returned the favor with at the drive-in relationship of command. That one still fucks me up. Imo, still ahead of its time.
No, it's just guitar playing at high bpm, and it's hardly fast, if you go to japan or northern europe. nofx can play much faster than 200 bpm, they just don't.
Think Mike said "taking GHB" actually, seems like they decided to say that recently for fun because they are on TV and it would be funny (maybe before the show) and the guitarist forgot so he ends up saying "singing GHB" (because he started to say "singing jibberish" or whatever the usual lyrics are) but Mike clearly says "taking" not that it matters
@@brassmonkey9557 just to clarify, I wasn’t saying they said all that in THIS video. Clearly mike says ghb, but previously it was phrases like “such bull shit” “gibberish” and “gbh” that he used in other songs. Also he definitely did NOT say taking. Both of them start with an S
Legend has it, Les Claypool made a deal with the devil... No one ever heard what Les received, but the devil got the best bass lesson he could get! -just saying 🤷🏻♂️
Give the cameraman props cutting away from Mike doing "controversial" stuff on stage like humping his bass, etc.. to try keeping the live version clean enough to show lol
Gosh they don't even try and they're still entertaining as fuck. This live version had almost no display of musicianship, besides smelly, and el hefe's guitar tone, which is always killer, but I still love the general sound. Such a fresh sounding band even 30 years after the fact
You're crazy. These musicians are ripping it up! Maybe you mean compared to their other work? This though as a stand alone performance is great. Guitar completely shredding rhythm, drums chaotic and masterfully played, singing with a pitchy swagger but it's charming, emotional, and excellent dynamics, phrasing and enough pitch to get the song across and be catchy. The out of pitchiness and bendy delivery is great, and you think that pitchiness is an accident or bad musicianship? It's literally the spirit of punk's rebellion. The harmony from the rest of the band is amazing and those chord changes at the end, whoever wrote those changes is a master. At least my opinion as a life long almost 50 year old musician, and studio engineer, and new to NOFX listener who's never even been a punk fan, is that there is stellar musicianship in this performance.
Bought the Cassette version of Punk in Drublic Sept '94. Only had a cassette player in the truck, so that made the format choice real easy !! Linoleum; still a top 10 Nofx toon for me.
”Possessions never meant anything to me I'm not crazy Well, that's not true I've got a bed and a guitar And a dog named Bob who pisses on my floor That's right, I've got a floor So what, so what, so what? I've got pockets full of Kleenex and lint and holes Where everything important to me Just seems to fall right down my leg And onto the floor My closest friend linoleum, linoleum Supports my head Gives me something to believe That's me on the beach side combing the sand Metal meter in my hand Sporting a pocket full of change *Shit* That's me on the street with a violin under my chin Playing with a grin Singing gibberish *Singing GHB* That's me on the back of the bus That's me in the cell That's me inside your head That's me inside your head That's me inside your head”
these guys got me into punk music when I was a teen. I still listen to them from time to time. they were the last true punk rock bands who refused to sell out to MTV. Green day was pretty good in the early 90s but they turned pop to make the $$
Fuck when I seen these guys in Winnipeg 2016, the upper balconys just sat and Hefe was confused as shit! Even the floor level seating had tons of people sitting. i dont get it man! Gotta be kicking and throwing fists especially to a gem like Linoleum!
If it's anything like when I saw them live, ya gotta hold onto the front railing or stage for dear life otherwise you're thrown fifteen feet back or some 300 pound drunk guy will stomp on your foot and shove you into the pit. Being in the front at a skate punk concert is a fuckin arm workout if you wanna stay there, always gotta keep one arm on the railing or your spot it gone.
Could you imagine having to sit through this shit? I mean not jumping up and running around. Watching this and having to stay in your seat. Get up and move!!!
this was Not So Fat mike era...then vegan,, then carnivor..then vegatarian..then back to Fat Mike..in fact on the warped tour he ate all my oregon made beef jerky..but thats ok. was a great fucking 3 months!!
sometimes punk rock is the only reason I don't end my shit
do you lie pinch it off or kinda let it..sorta just run out at the end or what?
Sometimes when I'm most lonely or depressed oli put on old early 80's or late 90's punk Rock and the world just dosent exist for a while
websnuff agreed. When I'm detox in off the junk, an my man ain't calling back. And my body aches like a crackhead an puking an shitting myself I keep something fast in my ear.

Nothing is worth ending your shit...ever.

add a year to that and tada me
Antonius I was 21 but same
Same for me 1995 but I was 12
Well I’m that kid
I grew up listening to this. Been hooked ever since!
So Melvin did at some point own a shirt.
Nah, he borrowed it
@@silverfoot6079 That's punk
Melvin still cant sing,cheers
Looks like new shorts too
Shawn Ryder your day is...💴💴
The first NOFX song I ever heard. Bought Punk in Drublic in '96 cos I liked the cover. Been hooked ever since.
@Graham Chave - Same album, same time, quickly bought all their old stuff. I got all up to "The decline".
Mine was “So Long...”
Great start - moron bros was my first ;)
My sister was a sound engineer and she has exploded my brain several times. once in the 70s by buying me a copy of apostrophe by Frank Zappa and in the 90s with this CD.

Cause you liked the cover!???
That’s it, huh 🤔
One of the most perfectly written songs ever.
nah
@@Gogan2345begon troll
They probably practiced that intro more than they've ever practiced playing their actual songs live.
Fuck off!
lol
No, it's just guitar playing at high bpm, and it's hardly fast, if you go to japan or northern europe. nofx can play much faster than 200 bpm, they just don't.
@@sumeetle he's talking about the joke where they pretend they're gonna play Bob and Don't Call Me White just so they can fuck around on national TV
Yep, wouldn't even expect any different from them.
Had a cd alarm clock and woke up to that guitar riff every morning for years. There is no snooze when that's the first thing you hear.
I used to do the same with Insect Warfare.
El Hefe on point with the back-up vocals
Amazing how Mike can be largely out of tune but when Hefe harmonizes it sounds perfect. He's been saving Mike's ass live for decades
Truth. Hefe is the most talented one in the band and they all know it. Mike is also a really great song writer though. Fuck I love Nofx.
Hefe and Smelly keep NOFX together live
Iirc Hefe is actually a trained musical musician
well el hefe is the secret weapon of nofx techcnically
This song reignites my life
Everything important to me...this song has supported my head for years. Thanks guys
Damn grew up with these guys 30 years later still love them.
なんだこれ!最高だな!こんな番組一生観てられるわ!
So it went from “singing gibberish” to “singing GBH” to “singing GHB”.
This made me laugh hard, love these guys
I think it's meant to be "slinging GHB" . Cause, you know, it makes sense.
Think Mike said "taking GHB" actually, seems like they decided to say that recently for fun because they are on TV and it would be funny (maybe before the show) and the guitarist forgot so he ends up saying "singing GHB" (because he started to say "singing jibberish" or whatever the usual lyrics are) but Mike clearly says "taking" not that it matters
its makes them so great they dont give a fuck!
At a show I’ve heard “Della Rease”.

This was so great when it came out... Still a spot on song! The 1993's spirit right there.
The greatest current Bass fronted band in the world. His basslines blow my mind...
Andrew Hall I love NOFX, but really.. 4 chords blow your mind? Brush up on some truly great bassists. From any genre.
Legend has it, Les Claypool made a deal with the devil... No one ever heard what Les received, but the devil got the best bass lesson he could get!

Really good Audio quality for a live TV preformance.
It's weird to see Eric Melvin wearing shirt, and to see Fat Mike in proper clothes, and to see the audiences just sit there...just weird.
That’s right, he’s got a shirt. So what?
He's got Pockets full of Kleenex and lint and holes too most likely
He was never heroin addict!
prob cause theyre live in a tv show lol
10 años y sigo caminndo con esta cancion por las calles...lima peru
“What’re you doing dude? We’re on national television.”
The good old NOFX maaa friend
This band is the best Ive seen live. And Ive seen a lot of bands live.
Punk is an extreme expression of truth.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I wish they still rocked like this....man....I miss this NOFX.
FUCK YOU THEY DO and you never have yet ever... BOOYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me too. I guess we are all doomed to get fat and slow, even riff-wise.
man.. this made me feel old..
なんて懐かしいんだ

Give the cameraman props cutting away from Mike doing "controversial" stuff on stage like humping his bass, etc.. to try keeping the live version clean enough to show lol
if you listen to the lyrics its actually the best song ever written.
Holy shit, Goosebumps watching NOFX
A piece of punk rock history
Is that a young guy fieri on gitar?
ETERNOS!!!! NOFX 💪

true punk rock like this is hard to come by these days.... search up 'Trepidation' by HeadAche... great band keeping that DIY ethos alive in 2018!!
Sure because they won't sell anything with this.
i wouldn’t call nofx « true » punk rock tho, they’re too popy for a punk rock original. Still like tio eau from time to time.
"You're Bob." " I'm Bob, How goes it?"
slc
best band ever
thats it
Totally
You dont expect too much....
There’s no way this should sound this good... unbelievably tough song to play!
? The guitar parts are easy. Hell, it's the only song I can play and sing at the same time. Classic, in any case
There's nothing hard about playing this song 😂
So Many Songs And At Last Some Unic!
I’ll love them forever.
Probably the BEST ever song
Going to Download 2018 to see them 🤘🤘
This was the song to get us going crazy in the pit. Anything off Punk in Drublic, really, but this in particular.

"a dog named dog"
"Sporting a pocket full of shit"
I heard that too. 😂😂😂
"that's right, I got a floor"
M Steen so what? So what? So what? I've got pockets full of, Kleenex and lint and holes...
they use "dog named dog" and "dog named bob" same as many variations people mentioned here
Verdadero Punk Rock. Gracias, Sergio.

Mon titre préféré ( sur album)
Parce que sinon The Décline c'est ma chanson préférée.
The last true punks. Love these guys. So glad they happened.
Where the classic have 1 or a bunch of great songs and a lot of "meh" ones, i like almost every NOFX, i don't know why... They're a great band
You could at least put the link to who actually wrote the song.
Just because they don't play shitty brutal-crust-associated-with-metal doesn't mean they're not punk
Last great punk band....k
What's a social bro? PS, nofx is punk.
"i don't own this shit and bla bla bla".... gold
Silver sliver
I am willing to bet NoFx will be sucking long into their 60's
I certainly fucking hope so!
"I suppose that's how we'll go out
Played out and way after our time"
60% (Reprise)
That's the only way I'll ever get to see them! I sure hope so!
Their 5th live album will be called "I really, honestly can't believe they STILL suck live!"
'91-'94 nofx is best nofx
Pretty good live performance
Linoleum is to punkrock what stairway to heaven is to music stores. 😂
Fucking love NOFX.
Amazing how Mike can be largely out of tune but when Hefe harmonizes it sounds perfect. He's been saving Mike's ass live for decades. Love them both
Six pounds of chronic on my grand mama's coffee table. This is how I remember it. NOFX is one of the best live band ever.
Por siempre la mejor banda
That’s me inside your heaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad, that’s me inside your head!
Wow merci!! À Musique Plus, j'avais jamais vu ça.
I went to college with these guys, S.F.State in the late eighties early nineties. The singer looks the same. He's gotta be 50ish.

Love how Melvin fucks up the last chord because mike pushed him
Thee original players... Yay! That's who they are; jeez...
I just started bawling

🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
They were probably told they are not allowed to play certain songs so they said screw it and played them all just to mess with the TV guys
Oh, the nostalgia :')
I wish I wasn’t 13 so I could see these guys and frenzal rhomb
My two favorite bands bro
You guys (once) did it again!!
Coolest Band ever

I'm surprised that Melvin is wearing a t-shirt XD

how could you be at 3 meters of nofx playing and be able to remain sit? i would be jumping and pushing and throwing chairs!
Because if you moved a single inch, fat mike would dropkick you in the fucking head

"Singing G.H.B."
Should've been on the cover of Maximum RocknRoll.
Lol think he was gonna say GBH lol or meant to sau the date rape drug GHB haha. He has said GBH live before though.
Doesn't he say "taking GHB"?
'Singing gibberish'
He does refer gbh in another live performace
Fuc*** it killed my coro na circus ;) again and again mate !!
