Dude. When the lady trying to compromise on getting a black or white doll, he answer to the situation is “why don’t you just get an oriental doll” that sent me 😂😂😂
“My daughter only wanted black dolls!” And that’s a bad thing? If she wants white dolls, let her get white dolls! If she wants black dolls, let her get black dolls! If she wants Asian dolls, let her get Asian dolls! People need to take in consideration what the CHILD WANTS, but having a mix of all races is not a bad idea, it teaches them to love all equally. Edit: I see a heated argument in the replies, sorry if what I said offended you. What I was trying to say is that all races should be loved equally. I’m sorry if that did not come across clear. And I see people replying racist things, if your going to be ignorant and rude, please keep that to yourself and delete your replies. Another Edit: The person I’m talking about is GuildBankLooter. He’s replying racist things about black people on my comment and on many other comment. If you are reading this GuildBankLooter I suggest you delete what you are saying because it’s very disrespectful and rude. And I just exposed you My third edit: JUST STOP GUILDBANKLOOTER!!!!!
GuildBankLooter i disagree. Kids learn from adults and toys, if they are thaught with only white, they wont understand the concept of race. My sister is a daycareworker, and a kid asked her co-worker if ”she didnt get to shower” since her skin was so dark(wich for me indicates that she had have any contact with other ethnics) Wich no kid really should think. I think we should teach our kids diversity at a young age, itll make them grow and understand the real world better.
You have to consider the context of why the kid actor doesn't want the doll, because the black doll is "ugly", "dumb", etc. So that's alarming that a kid would say such racist stuff. So of course these people are gonna be like, the black doll is just as good as the white doll.
Thank God my parents were more concerned with what kind of friends I played with than what dolls I played with. My favorite doll was a white boy with blue eyes and blond hair 💁🏽♀️
When i was like 7 or 8 years old, I would use markers and color the eyes and lips black of my barbie dolls, then cut their hairs, pull their heads and limbs apart, melt their faces with.... a match...... then cut my plushies throats open.... Um, too much? I swear i stopped doing that as i got older, but i knew what i was doing and i enjoyed it....i was such a weird little girl. 😂
@@kellya71 oriental is a very outdated term when referring to race. It's seen as derogatory now, oriental is used to describe rugs, rather than people.

@Kyaramerutī your welcome, I didn't want to offend anyone, you've got to do something to me to get on my bad side, and that doesn't include any race, just individuals, but to be honest I'm very pissed at the CCP and the Chinese in China, not Asian Americans or Chinese Americans here, also take care, stay safe
ArtofDylan Lol. I always wanted to ask an Asian about that. Coz to me. Its a nice word. And people use it to describe more asian like Chinese looking. As opposed to asian like Indian looking. Also sorry if it's not something you like btw. Didn't know it offended.
You rarely hear that word in the UK nowadays but i always assumed it was just a way to distinguish those from different parts of Asia. India is in Asia, a large part of Russia is in Asia, Turkey, Israel etc. etc. they are all Asian. I never understood why those who are not born in Asia consider themselves Asian or are classed as such because of their ancestors history. I have relatives born in the UK who would be classed as Asian but they consider themselves as British English due to the fact that they were born here, they don't see themselves as Asian even though their family tree on the other side of the family are descendants from parts of Asia. However, i have met many Americans and they are obsessed with using a continents name to categorise people even if those people are not from that continent simply because of how the person looks and the persons family heritage.
5:30 to 7:16, I figured that went much deeper than support for the nanny after she'd told her she wasn't alone. The woman didn't know the cameras were on her and she tried to change her stance and make herself seem more accepting when she found out there were. Did that bother anybody else?
hugecoccdaddy First of all, you missed the point of my post. My biggest issue was the fact that she did a complete 180 when she found out she was being watched. That isn't okay, and, honestly, neither is prejudice of any kind. Secondly, I would never request that someone like another race more than their own. I wouldnt request that anyone favor *any* group of people based on color. It isn't okay to dislike, insult,*or favor* anybody based on color. Do you think that believing people should be respectful toward one another, get rid of prejudices/bias, and be capable of sticking to their guns when questioned about statements they made is asking too much? It shouldn't be difficult in the slightest. For the record, again, my original comment was addressing the reason she changed her claim and why, but it isn't *just* about the comments the woman made, or *just* about the way she tried hiding her real mindset when she discovered the cameras; *both* are an issue for me.
hugecoccdaddy That's pretty uncalled for, man. Just because I can recognize bias doesnt mean I'm the same color as those this woman is referring to. I myself am not being biased right now, and I've been pretty relaxed this entire time. Calling this woman a coward and a racist isn't the same as throwing a hissy fit. Do you know what a real hissy fit looks like? This isn't it at all. Favoring anyone, including yourself, soully based on race isn't okay. Favoritism isn't right, and if I want to comment on someone's behavior, I will.
@@eskaylarezzy8530 she meant when kids are young they don’t care about color but when they get older they’ll start to take color more seriously. it’s a racist remark.

And now they have a variety of barbies! Mixed, darker skinned, and lighter skinned with different eye shapes.
5:38 lol She's a racist. "Isn't that the weirdest thing?" (= it's so weird to want to have black people in your imaginary stories); "It's a phase they go through" (= kids see no difference based on color, but don't worry, they'll grow out of it and get some sense); "My girls are ... very well-adjusted" (= my girls now hang out in white crowds and aren't eager to include black people in their lives, which I'm very relieved about).
This almost exact situation happened to me when I was a kid. I went to Disney Land with my family and my parents took me into a gift shop to buy a Disney Princess doll. I wanted the Mulan doll, but my parents wouldn't let me get her because she was Asian. But for some reason, they let me get the doll of Jasmine...
chesiregirl it's probably becuase mulan dresses up like a guy. She is a punch in the face for what is means" to be a lady". I live in a slightly sexiest house. With a silghtly sexiest culture.
Ikr they only make ‘perfect’ dolls, or wheelchair dolls no in between like a skin condition or anything. I’m giving all my old dolls to my cousins and I have one where its arm broke off at the elbow so I really want to give it to them but I just wish they MADE amputee dolls.
Yes, white adults are nearly always demonized on the show. Why don't we have the black nanny tell the little girl that she needs to only chose a white doll, cause she's white. Racist WWYD!
I actually like how most didn't shame the child, but they turned it into a teachable moment. Its never the child's fault. Its only natural for them to want the doll that looks like them. Instead they just tried to teach her that its ok to be different and different is good. :)
Im mexican and im pretty dark my wife is white and are daughter is light skin when she was 3 she would allways choose the dark skin dolls. She would say because it looks like my daddy!
Aww that's cute! When I was younger I didn't really like dolls but I always thought the dark skinned ones looked prettier. Idk. I would rarely see someone own one :(
My mom got me all raced dolls. I had Asian, black, Latina, white. Mostly because I was biracial and she ( my mom) believed the world was changing for the better. And to adjust me to the world we live in. Even though I mostly went toward the black dolls because my mom was black and I thought "My moms beautiful" BUT I also went toward the ones that look more like me. But I never thought the dolls that didn't look like me were ugly, Just different.
Rogers NoLastName you should stop.....before you said yo a man that not all mexicans are dark (which he never implied) And now latina is not a race, you dont have to be a smarty pants because you knew what she meant...how about hispánic? Its that a race to you? Probably not because majority of hispánic people are mix...dont even go there.
Rogers NoLastName ummm i dont know what country your from because in mine we are all mixed and no one can say they are not because just like in the US we had natives that came from Venezuela Honduras etc but they where taínos And when the spaniards came they basically literally extinct the natives. So we are all mix. Being hispánic is an ethnicity ok... race? Many colors (mix) cause you cant say that White hispánic are puré whites they Will have something in their background, asians same deal, blacks..have strong genes so..whatever i just got a headache lol
I think that the second experiment was too safe (white nanny hates black barbies). A truly controversial reaction would come from a black girl wanting black doll while her white nanny persists for a white doll.
My poor mother grew up in the fifties and is so sad about the word “oriental” being taken out of circulation, because she thinks the word itself is pretty. It’s hard when your parents or older people in your life have to be corrected when they only have the right intentions.
I have seen some, but they need a lot more diversity, with Chinese and Indian and Spanish. But I mean, I was an Indian little girl and I could never play with dolls, my mom thought they were to sexualized, which was true. But my dad would make me do math and stuff, when I was like 5 (stereotypical Indian dad)😂 but then again, I had my multiplication tables memorized by first grade....😂
Propane Accessories so I meant like Mexican, but I don’t know much since I’m not Mexican or Spanish, but I mean yeah I guess Spanish people have a lighter skin tone
I think what she’s meaning to say, I might be wrong but, she doesn’t have a problem with her getting the black doll at all, but she sees the little kid wants the white doll, and she probably wants her to get the doll she wants and not forced to get the other one, I think no matter what skin tone you should let your children choose which one they want
I think she thought that the little girl only specifically owned black dolls. She was trying to steer her to buy the white for a change. That’s why when the little girl said “but she looks like all my other dolls” the woman said “that, I get.”

And I just exposed you
My third edit: JUST STOP GUILDBANKLOOTER!!!!!
GuildBankLooter If you watched the video, you’d see that they are kind suggestions. No one forced anything. And you seem forget that the kids an actor
You have to consider the context of why the kid actor doesn't want the doll, because the black doll is "ugly", "dumb", etc. So that's alarming that a kid would say such racist stuff. So of course these people are gonna be like, the black doll is just as good as the white doll.
Sorry to be nit picky, but it’s Asian dolls not Chinese
Thank God my parents were more concerned with what kind of friends I played with than what dolls I played with.
My favorite doll was a white boy with blue eyes and blond hair 💁🏽♀️

GrangerEatsEggos I shaved my dolls heads. Didn’t matter if they were black or white. They were all bald.
Simone Lynch OMG same and then I’d dress them in a different outfit
Simone Lynch 😂😂😂
When i was like 7 or 8 years old, I would use markers and color the eyes and lips black of my barbie dolls, then cut their hairs, pull their heads and limbs apart, melt their faces with.... a match...... then cut my plushies throats open....
Um, too much? I swear i stopped doing that as i got older, but i knew what i was doing and i enjoyed it....i was such a weird little girl. 😂
GrangerEatsEggos omg same, I also use to cut my doll’s hair as a child
These people who actually tried to teach this little girl are so cute. It shows how far we have come!
i CRACKED UP at “maybe an Oriental doll?” hahahaha. Who still talks like that?

Everyone knows that an “oriental” doll is halfway between a white doll and a black one.
@@kellya71 oriental is a very outdated term when referring to race. It's seen as derogatory now, oriental is used to describe rugs, rather than people.

Lol. I always wanted to ask an Asian about that. Coz to me. Its a nice word. And people use it to describe more asian like Chinese looking. As opposed to asian like Indian looking. Also sorry if it's not something you like btw. Didn't know it offended.
Nope. I'm white but I caught that right away. No such thing as Oriental..... Its Asian
Please read Orientalism by Edward Said. Talks all about this topic. Nothing nice about that word at all.
No your not but I agree with @Ruby Diaz
Just Another UA-camr
Just Another UA-camr ya kinda
Just Another UA-camr oml yessss
hugecoccdaddy First of all, you missed the point of my post.
"Its just a phase she doesn't see color"

what happened to kindergarten when literally nobody cared about whether you are black or white or whatever. when all that mattered was whether you had chocolate chip cookies for lunch. what happened
Salt!and Pepper They learned racism from their environments.

When I was in kindergarten, it wasn't about if you were black or white, if you had pudding with a special spoon you were like a god or goddess.

Amy Paredes lol!!!
I'm white (brownish, but white-passing) and I used to have a Black Barbie doll when I went to kindergarden in the US. One day some kids made fun of me and my Barbie, and broke her. It was a rather traumatic event I didn't understand then, and that still disturbs me today.
