Ethanol is definitely something thats new for me and it may be new for you. I do my best to help address some of the issues that people face when first getting ethanol tunes. Theres not a whole lot that goes into it but it can be a little daunting at first. Hopefully this guide helps you get better aquainted with ethanol and blends!

Buying one of those testers is a must for anyone running a mix. Luckily for me a Sheetz station just opened less than 5 miles away from my house.
So. I'm in CA and we have crap 91' My tuner said run 3-4 gal of e85 and the rest 91. Pretty much best I can do tbh. Then I just judge how much to put in when low on gas like under 1/4 tank usually I just add about 2.75 gal and limp over to the 91 gas and top off. This is pretty much what I do. TBH the car has only ran 91 when I 1st got it then e30ish haha I never get knock or DAM movement at all. I can't wait till Cobb comes out with a kit for e85.
Been going back and forth about getting an E blend tune but I just love filling up my without having to use my brain. 😂

Ahhh thank you for this! It would be nice to have a flex tune. I wonder why we do not get that from Cobb. I recall when VA had the flex capability.
It's in the works. A flex kit for the VB is something Cobb is working on.
@@HeavyMetalWRX Ahh I see. I hope that they will. I'm surprised that Cobb killed the flex fuel for FA20.
@@gaivoron Cobb killed their flex fuel setup as part of their Green initiative. And so they didn't get huge fines.
Cobbs flex fuel setup plugged into the TGV plug. Meaning, your had to disable the tgv system. Which is a no no.
I was unaware of Cobb working on a replacement. Hope they do tho.
What power are you making with your current mods and e85?
I'm making 386whp/424wtq. I could go a bit higher but then torque gets way out of hand (450+).
Definitely informative vid thanks for it, but one question/statement i guess, ive seen that the fuel pumps we have really really dont handle low fuel well and its pretty bad to run it close to empty so i wonder if theres a con/negative there to running lower for easier mixing
I'm not sure where you heard that. So far all the tuners have been agreeing that there hasn't really been a n issue with the pumps. The only time you go that low is when you're switching from 93 to ethanol. This way you get the highest % Into your tank.

If i got pro tuned on 93 but wanna run 85, I'm assuming I'd need a re tune?
Yea you would need a return specifically for an ethanol tune.

Wouldnt it be easier to always put the same amount of E85 from the same place and then fill up the tank with 93? Because the tank will always be 16.5 gal
Well the blend % can change at some stations so you have to keep checking. Sometimes the blend at my gas station is 83, sometimes 70, and sometimes donw to 60.

The car already gets horrible fuel mileage. Why would would I want to do that? I’m in Jersey and E85 is very scarce so even if I wanted to I couldn’t.
You would gain an extra 40-60whp on ethanol.

What gas station did you go to
This is a Phillips 66. Majority of them around me have e85 or ethanol blend of some kind.

You can but thats a fuel it Bluetooth kit is like $500 and you still need to be smart about how much you put in there. That's just a sensor, it doesn't adjust the fueling.
Word of caution - ethanol doesn't have the additives needed to burn away deposits inside your engine. Your engine will fail sooner from ethanol than regular fuel. Mostly a note for normal daily drivers.
