Knowing the orb, things went just as planned. Or maybe Stern got arrested at some point offscreen and they decided to take Hanover's suggestion of tearing him into bits and buring him alive.
Great movie, great comic. Even my father liked it, probably because he grew up on the really graphic horror comics of the 1950's before the comics code toned them down.
Honestly, the comics code still has an effect on today's world, in a way. If not on the industry itself, then on how people still view the medium. Hell, Video Games had their share of demonization in the 90's.
I feel like after this incident our lovely little captain stern blamed all of his crimes on Hanover claiming that he was some sort of shape-shifter that did all the crimes while transformed as stern.
Yep that’s what is kind of cool about the orb. Much like the ring it can warp something that is relatively harmless or good and make it dangerous and evil
@@voidishprattles4319 That scene really let me down. In fact, it *still* bothers me. How could Hanover be stripped of his power so easily? Sternn was sooo close to getting what he deserved. Where is the justice?
Whenever I see former Speaker Paul Ryan's face, it always reminds me of Hanover Fiste. I thought I was alone in this observation until I Googled them together...
Thanks recommended, now I need to get this classic on bluray, wanna see Tarrna in HD..last time I saw it was on VHS and cable. 🤣 Shame we didn't get more of these, 2 movies wasn't nearly enough awesomeness.😕
Ahhh, the original Heavy Metal animated movie. Back when Heavy Metal was actually interesting. I seriously doubt a movie like this could be made today. Too many whiny twitter bullies and their armies of bots would be shocked, SHOCKED I say, by such entertainment. Of course, the other 99 percent of the population would LOVE something like this. Good news, then. You can still get the original. And if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. The humor is all over the place, mixed with equal measures of horror, fantasy and sci-fi. There's something for everyone in this film.
thank you for the tips to win the show. i guess we are focusing on that its a show huh? alrighty then. I can just quit everything and focus on putting on a good show for all to see and experience
Sternn must be where they got inspiration for the "great heroes" in media like Qwark, Brannigan, and Homelander; people with great publicity who are absolutely horrendous piles of diarrhea.
Talk about a trial going wrong 😬Subscribe to see more clips from Heavy Metal!
"The best we can hope for is to get you buried in secrecy so your grave doesn't get violated."
One of the best lines ever.
How, what does that mean? Vandalized or getting relieved on?
I don't know what that means
@@DannyConeHeadOnceLer generally just means people doing bad stuff to someone's grave like defacing it in any way
It was the moving violation that sealed his fate.
Yea the preschooler prostitution ring wasn’t enough to seal the deal.
😂 those traffic laws are damn draconian
It's got the same energy as "the armys one thing, but you'll have to answer to the Coca-Cola corporation" from Dr. Strangelove
@@actually_a_circle Favorite scene, right next to the bomb dropping
@@josgretf2800 I liked when the captain read out all the emergency equipment and said "You could have a hell of a night in Vegas with all that stuff."
"He should be torn into little bitsy pieces and buried alive!" That line still slays me all these years later!
Now that is really hating someone.
"I've got an angle..."
Hanover's lines regarding Captain Stern live rent free in my mind!
Hard to believe the guy who voices Hanover would later voice as Squidward
If I remember correctly Squidward is used as a character witness in one episode I wonder if that was a reference
*He what??*
The lawyer was voiced by the dad from Freaks and Geeks and Stern himself was voiced by Eugene Levy.
Actually...I totally believe that.
i think the color of squidwards shirt is a reference to this guy because it looks the same
All the dislikes are from people that didn't have an angle
Imagine reanimating this but with Zapp Brannigan as Stern
Nope.
Zapp is like this guy, but not even 1/1000th as immoral.

No
"When he testifies on my behalf, The rest of the Dominoes should fall like a house of cards.........Checkmate"
It's okay, he's got an _angle_
What angle!?
He promised 35000 zooleks if a UA-camr gives a like to this video!
Ironic that stern is the most deserving of a fate worst than death, yet he’s one of the very lucky few who escaped the orb.
Knowing the orb, things went just as planned.
Or maybe Stern got arrested at some point offscreen and they decided to take Hanover's suggestion of tearing him into bits and buring him alive.
“Shut up Charlie, I got an ANGLE…….”
HIM!
he took lessons from Dutch Van der Linde
Great movie, great comic. Even my father liked it, probably because he grew up on the really graphic horror comics of the 1950's before the comics code toned them down.
Legit never knew that was a thing. Probably because most the comics I've read apparently never followed that code.

The comic code authority and its consequences has been a great disaster for mankind
Not only is this one of the best animations, it is one of the best movies ever..
Highly agree with you ,this blew my mind back in the day.
What's the name of the movie
@@JooJoo-uz2wc heavy metal, it's a Canadian adult animated from the 80's, well worth the watch.
Sold dope disguised as a nun....why captain Stern didn't have his own animated movies is beyond me.
I'd like to think the green orb was kinda inventing some of the stuff Fist came out with.

The skit ends with Hanover's hulk smash being all part of the angle.
That's what happens when you've got a moving violation
Man, Captain Sternn really reminds me of Cpt. Qwark from Ratchet and Clank
He reminds me of Captain Hero from "Drawn Together" (2004).
I wouldn't be surprised if in part that's where insomniacs dev team for ratchet & clank got the idea of qwarks character from
I LOVE this scene!!
It reminds me of all the times I sold dope disguised as a Nun.
How awful do you have to be to having burning be too good for you?
Torn to itty bitty bits and buried alive. Oooooh
preschooler prostitution ring
"Pinapple on pizza"- awful
Moving violation.
I feel like after this incident our lovely little captain stern blamed all of his crimes on Hanover claiming that he was some sort of shape-shifter that did all the crimes while transformed as stern.
But anyway, no doubt the law will declare a mistrial for after what happens.
Saw the movie at sea, on USS Midway. Got the soundtrack somewhere.
Go navy!

Really rooted for Hanover in this one. Talk about a glow up.
It's like Gollum meets the Hulk!
Yep that’s what is kind of cool about the orb. Much like the ring it can warp something that is relatively harmless or good and make it dangerous and evil
Homelander as captain Kirk
Had a D&D character based on Lincoln Sternn..so much evil fun. 😈
I think the voice actor for the prosecutor also did the voice of Rupert Thorne in the Batman animated series
The late, great John Vernon. One of the most unmistakable voices in film history.
Curious how Stern expected Hanover to get him off the charges with just a character reference.

Maybe it’s got some kind of membrane

No end scene and no cheap trick sound track .wah.wah.
Mr. Sternn has just about an identical resemblence to Power Pete

Bro. Haven't thought about power pete in ages. That game slaps. Was pretty challenging too
This was so enjoyable on the big screen with those five feet tall speakers.
R.I.P. Berni Wrightsen.
