The "song" as they approach the volcano is "E5150," which appeared on the Mob Rules Black Sabbath album as a fade in to title track Mob Rules, even though E5150 wasn't on the Heavy Metal soundtrack album, and the movie and ( Sabbath) album versions of Mob Rules were quite different, particularly the ending solo. What I found interesting is the bar scene with the band playing, which was Devo's "Through Being Cool," which wasn't on the soundtrack album either. When Devo's 4th album, "New Traditionalists" came out, "Working in a Coalmine" was included on a 45 rpm single stuffed in the sleeve with the LP. "Working..." was on the soundtrack, but you didn't hear it until the ending credits. Practically every song included in the movie got butchered down to a few seconds, save for "Radar Rider" by Riggs which starts the movie ( Corvette drop.)

Heavy Metal and Dragon's Heaven are two movies that excite me with visuals the most. As an artist who works mostly with ink, I love to see all this hatching shading that makes every frame too look like a drawing you could put on your wall.
I like how parts of this movie run with the awful 80s trope of laser guns, originally necessitated by heavy broadcasting censorship of depicting firearms, which is rendered completely unnecessary by having as much blood in gore in it as pretty much anything else.
I keep wondering what those guys were doing there in the first place. It seems they were just a relatively harmless crowd of curious people approaching the volcano that were at the wrong place at the wrong time.
They was nomadic tribe going around im sure there’s a bunch of lore that needs to be heard but yea they was good till Locnar corrupted there spirits and mutated them
I think I was at, or around, 13 when I saw this movie for the first time and it made an impression for sure. I've seen it, maybe half a dozen times in the 25ish years since then and it's still just a damned good movie. Everything about it is just good. Ya know? No one has really been able to recapture the feeling of this movie and some of the Bakshi films that happened before this one. Spine Of Night tried but it was absolutely terrible.
Love it when people nitpick stuff. He got the helmet because it was magic that mutated him so magic could very well make the helmet. It's a glowing green orb that does whatever hell it wants. Is it really so far fetched to think he could make a helmet for the guy? In every clip people point out how the characters does stupid things like playing with green glowing orb or running to an active volcano. If you saw a glowing green orb, would you think it is the collection of all things evil? Probably not. Secondly, I figured this is like Sauron's power in Lord of the Rings. The orb has a hypnotic element to it where people are drawn to it. Would be a pretty pointless and boring movie if whenever anyone saw anything green they bolted the other way and nothing happened.

They really need to do another "heavy metal" movie.......with the CGI we have today, and get metal/hard rock groups from more recent years to do the musical score......keep this ball rolling. The last installation was really disappointing. It was all pretty much Julie Strain the whole movie and a lame plot of the B movie variety.

He put that necklace back on too!

I love the attention to detail at 0:37, the leader clutches a pendant out of fear.
Good catch. Maybe it was a symbol of his religious deity and he was grabbing it and hoping for some kind of salvation.
He was actually good till the corruption happened when he was mutated into what he is now
or it merely brought out what was already inside him.
Let's observe a moment of silence for all who have perished in guacamole eruptions.
The Avoc-Nar strikes again!
Gosh with the warming climate volcanic-guac activity was increased a lot.
