Each one of these guys has an amazing voice, but when you put them together, it's pure magic! it's great to see a reaction video that recognizes that. Thank you, guys!!
It was filmed in the Austrian Alps last year when they were on an overseas tour..with a drone:) You have to check out "My Church"...the song that they gave a preview of at the end! Tim (the bass) has a 5 octave range...amazing! All are musically professionally trained in college except Tim (the bass), who was pre-dentistry:) Like Tim's voice...check out a song he did before home free "I Dare You"...for the USO show..at the end, you will be blown away! Thanks for your reactions! Love it!
Actually in How Great Thou Art he is maxing out at C5 Adam's Significant High Notes: A5 ("Goodbye My Coney Island" Live, "Beatbox Battle" Atlantic City/West Hollywood) G5 ("Beatbox vs. Drummer" (link), "Drum Solo" Paramount Theater, "Life is a Highway" Pantages Theatre, "Man of Constant Sorrow") F♯5 ("All About That Bass" Live, "Loop Station Beatboxing") F5 ("Drum Solo" The Maryland Theater, "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" Live, "Snapback") E5 ("Goodbye My Coney Island" live, "London Pigeons Got Jam 3" Vine) E♭5 ("All About That Bass", "Beatbox vs. Drummer" Dustin Lemke Tribute Show 2012, "Canadian Pigeons Got Jam 1" Vine, "What Child Is This" Behind the Scenes) D5 ("Beatbox Battle" West Hollywood, "How Great Thou Art","Loop Station Beatboxing") C♯5 ("Timeless/Try Everything Mashup" Pantages Theatre, "Ring of Fire" The Sing-Off) C5 ("How Great Thou Art", "Man of Constant Sorrow", "Snapback") B4 ("Cruise" The Sing-Off, "Full of Cheer", "Honey I'm Good", "I'm Alright" Behind the Scenes, "O’ Holy Night") B♭4 ("Country Evolution" Behind the Scenes, "Gangnam Style", "What Child Is This" Behind the Scenes, "YMCA" Patreon Party) A4 ("Auld Lang Syne", "Beatbox vs. Drummer" Dustin Lemke Tribute Show 2012, "O’ Holy Night") G♯4 ("I’m Alright") G4 ("Angels We Have Heard on High", "Feelin' It", "Full of Cheer", "House Party", "The Butts Remix" Live) F♯4 ("Full of Cheer", "The Butts Remix", "What We Ain't Got", "We Just Disagree") F4 ("Angels We Have Heard on High", "Don't it Feel Good" Live, "How Great Thou Art") Adam's Significant Low Notes: C♯3 ("Friends in Low Places", "Story of My Life", "Try Everything") B2 ("I'll Be Home For Christmas", "O’ Holy Night") B♭2 ("Pigeons Got Jam 6" Vine) A2 ("Pigeons Got Jam" Vine) G♯2 ("Gangnam Style" Live at Hosanna Lutheran Church) G2 ("Can’t Stop the Feeling", "Full of Cheer", "Pigeons Got Jam 7" Vine) F♯2 ("The Butts Remix") F2 ("Drum Solo" Live at South Portland, "Man of Constant Sorrow") E♭2 ("Fishin' In The Dark / Boondocks", "House Party", "Soundcheck" Wisconsin State Fair 7/31/2014) D2 ("Drum Solo" UNH 9/13/14) C♯2 ("Drum Solo" Calvin Theater, "Mayday") C2 ("Snapback") B1 ("Fishin’ In the Dark / Boondocks") B♭1 ("Life is a Highway", "Soundcheck" Wisconsin State Fair 7/31/2014) F♯1 ("Mayday")
I am so glad you finally reacted to this video. When I'm upset, this video always calms and puts me into a blissful peace of mind. They did this when they were in Austrian Alps for a concert. BTW- did you notice that Adam the beat-boxer also sang a small part in this video?
I should go to sleep but I had to watch it now. Listening to them with eyes closed - I think it's the best recommendation. Hope you'll do some more of their music. They're more than great.
This was done on their European tour a couple of years ago up in the Austrian Alps. A perfect backdrop for their wonderful blend of harmonies. They are the greatest in my opinion. You should check out their "Ring of Fire" done with Avi Kaplan of the Pentatonix, The bass, Tim Faust, sings the last part of the song and hits that awesome low note at the end. Bravo!
Thanks! Love to hear your reaction to "Honey I'm Good", "My Church" or "Thinking Out Loud/Lets Get It On" (Tim shows his range in that one). Enjoy what you do! (Peter Hollens also features Home Free in another hymn, check out Amazing Grace, it's beautiful)!
Loved your reaction. This song is so simply, but I think one of their best ever, and it does make you speechless, because it is so beautiful. Chance also does bass, but not as low as Tim. Thank you for doing this song. Oh, the high note you were hearing is Adam Rupp ( beatboxer ), he does very high notes as well as some low notes. He has a great range.
This song always gives me goosebumps! Their voices are magnificent and match the scenery perfectly. If you'd like to hear more of Tim talking check out Story time with Tim videos on UA-cam. He's a funny man and so easy on the ears (and eyes!) 😀
I'm sorry, I can't let that go, 'magnificent' just does not cut it, magnificent is too lowly a term to describe that performance. Personally I'm not sure what term can encompass it to be honest, they have managed with 5 men, to achieve what a whole male voice choir would struggle to perform. I am utterly in awe of their ability. 5 people who sync together soooo exactly and perfectly is a rare feat.
Do You Hear What I Hear? and O' Holy Night have very similar peaceful feeling to them imo. They also showcase Tim's range quite nicely. But, believe it or not, you still haven't heard Tim's lowest and highest notes yet. ;) I would recommend Little Red Riding Hood, Your Man (especially one of Home Free's live concert versions), Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Tim's Can't Help Falling In Love, The Land Of The Free, or one of Tim Foust Vocal Range videos if you want to experience more of his beautiful voice and amazing range. You might also enjoy their Sing-Off performances. And just FYI: You can hear his lowest recorded note in Home Free's cover of Sold and his highest recorded note in Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby. :)
Coney Island performance can be found here. Didn’t expect it to be live. Everyone is an octave except Tim, who must be, like, 3 octaves up. 8:35 in ua-cam.com/video/KgA6B7DVajg/v-deo.html
From Wikipedia: "How Great Thou Art" is a Christian hymn based on a Swedish traditional melody and a poem written by Carl Gustav Boberg (1859-1940) in Mönsterås, Sweden in 1885. It was translated into German and then into Russian and became a hymn. It was translated into English from the Russian by English missionary Stuart K. Hine, who also added two original verses of his own. The composition was set to a Russian melody. It was popularised by George Beverly Shea and Cliff Barrows during the Billy Graham crusades.[1] It was voted the United Kingdom's favourite hymn by BBC's Songs of Praise.[2] "How Great Thou Art" was ranked second (after "Amazing Grace") on a list of the favourite hymns of all time in a survey by Christianity Today magazine in 2001.[3] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_Great_Thou_Art
I just rewatched your reaction. I agree that this was a very simple arrangement for the video, but their talent makes it so much more. The harmonies are incredible, Rob has such a smooth mellow voice, of course Tim is a beast and Austin's high notes are powerful. Adam Rupp was singing instead of beat boxing and it worked, plus Adam Chance that replaced Chris Rupp fit so well with these guys. Less is more, only when you have the talent to pull it off and these guys are so talented. If you want Tim to tell you bedtime stories look up Story Time with Tim from the live shows. Now you have to find that location in Austria and include a picture in one of your reaction vids. Really enjoy you both. Can't wait for more Home Free reacts. Keep it up.
Yes, they have a common border but Germany is a pretty big country and if Luca and Vica happen to live in the North of Germany (for instance Hamburk), they would have to travel almost 900 km to get to the place where the video was shot.
How can anyone seethe beautiful scenery and hear those wonderful voices and not believe in GOD? TIM HAS A 5 OCTAVE Rnnge, he was singing baritone and not bass this time! Tim is my favorite! Wait for the end...so you can hear his bass close the song!!! These are GOSPEL SONGS and this was filmed in the Austrian Alps!!!
Wow... That was amazing. My first time listening to them sing this.. was absolutely amazing... If you like the song.. Carrie Underwood did a live version with Vince Gill, Also amazing.. was my favorite version... But I think I've changed my mind. WOW.. Thanks for the great video... Also.. this song was made Famous by George Beverly Shea, in the late 60's I believe. You can find him singing that with his singers on UA-cam.

FYI - Checking their website, it looks like the video for How Great Thou Art was filmed in the Swiss Alps. So cheers to Switzerland for the beautiful landscape.
check out the Voctave video Disney Love Medley with Kirsten( from Pentatonix) and her boyfriend. It's great (with 13 million views it can't be bad). Love to see your reaction
can you react to I'll be home for Christmas. Rob sings it and it hits my heart every time I listen to it. I know this holidays are not here yet but it is such a good rendition. thanks
Which reminds me, Peter Hollens did a beautiful cover of a nearly 300 year old song called Shanandoa, basically the song was about a European that came to the Missuri River area of America and fell in love with 'Shanandoa's daughter'. (daughter of the land in some versions, of Chief Shanandoa in others)
I've heard Home Free themselves confirm it was shot in Austria (in the behind the scenes video for How Great Thou Art). They said they were there for a concert and found a location that was perfect for what they had in mind for How Great Thou Art.
Each member of Home Free proclaims Jesus as their Saviour and this song is a tribute to how amazing they believe God to be. If you felt a certain feeling in your heart, that is how God speaks to our souls - through His Holy Spirit - the 3rd member of the Trinity - left here on Earth when the 2nd member of the Trinity, Jesus Christ, died on the cross and went back to Heaven to be with the 1st person of the Trinity, God. I know it sounds a bit confusing, but faith in the Trinity is actually quite simple - just accept and believe and let the Trinity fill your soul.
Please, you guys must check out Do You Hear What I Hear and O’Holy Night! And their version of Can’t OutRun You! Please make reaction videos to those!🤙
if you love Rob wiseling search for "Rocking Robbin'. Don't think they have do any video for it so you must we public videos for concerts. Know it was on the Patrion party.
How Great Thou Art Translation.... How great are you! The song is a praise to God
Lip synced to their studio recording IN THE AUSTRIAN ALPS (While on tour around Europe) Phenomenal !
If that doesn't get you soul longing for heaven, I don't know what will.
They were in Europe for a Music Festival, that is the Austrian Alps! They used a drone for aerial shots.
I was wondering if that was filmed in Austria. So so beautiful!
I was guessing Switzerland, but Austria doesn't surprise.
They were in the Alps of Austria, but in the background you also see alps of Italy - I recognized a part called Rosengarten.
Each one of these guys has an amazing voice, but when you put them together, it's pure magic! it's great to see a reaction video that recognizes that. Thank you, guys!!
It’s an old church hymn and I cry every time I hear it Thank you for loving it
I pray, one day, the 2 of you know the meaning behind this song!
Ahhhh my heart skipped a beat two home free uploads in an hour you guys are the BEST!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍
Wonderful response. One of my favorite hymns sung by one of my favorite groups. And the location is wonderful. Loved the Shakespeare comment.
It was filmed in the Austrian Alps last year when they were on an overseas tour..with a drone:) You have to check out "My Church"...the song that they gave a preview of at the end! That was filmed in Austria while they were on tour in Europe last year. Please react to more Home Free! I love you guys.
Just to let you know, all of those high falsetto parts you may have noticed were actually sung by their beatboxer, Adam Rupp!
The high tenor parts are Austin... Adam is a straight tenor like Rob
Not the falsetto parts. Austin and Rob both max out at C5 in chest voice in this song, whereas Adam maxes out at a falsetto D5.
Not to mention that Adam can also get way, way low. You can hear that when he does the jungle part of his drum solo. ;-)
Wow
Actually in How Great Thou Art he is maxing out at C5

Home Free has more videos out! I love this group they are amazing
I sing this song at Church. I love it. It's such a relaxing song
Probably the most well known hymn second only to amazing grace

The beatboxer Adam sang in this one.
You would enjoy 'Amazing Grace' with Home Free and Peter Hollens!

Good call on "Little Red Riding Hood"...good grief Tim slays with that song! Yup, that one needs to be reacted too!!

Lundquist and Rupp live in Minnesota, Foust and Brown live in Tennessee, and Chance lives in California.
The Bass part being sung while Tim was singing lead was Adam Chance. He's got a really good Bass voice as well.
Tim sang both the bass and the lead in the studio version as far as I know. And they were 'mouthing' to the studio version in this video.
wow so beautiful as always that's the first time I've seen Adam sing I'm just so used to seeing him beatbox 💙
I just rewatched your reaction. I agree that this was a very simple arrangement for the video, but their talent makes it so much more. The harmonies are incredible, Rob has such a smooth mellow voice, of course Tim is a beast and Austin's high notes are powerful. They live in Germany, not Austria.
RockSaltJournalsCOM and those countries border each other. Can drive or take a train. I used to live there too so it's no problem to go.
Yes, they have a common border but Germany is a pretty big country and if Luca and Vica happen to live in the North of Germany (for instance Hamburk), they would have to travel almost 900 km to get to the place where the video was shot.
This song great art thou was shot in the Yellowstone national park
Thanks for that!!! It's in Austria 🇦🇹 Keep listening and reacting to Home Free they are Amazing!!!
Please react to Home Frees cover of My Church and All about that Bass!

"Do they have Jimmy Choo, though?" Good one!
This is an old hymn, in somewhat archaic (if not quite Shakespearean) English. When I was a child, "Thou" and "Thee" were the pronouns always used when talking to God.
Thou is for the German "Sie" as in when you say it to God.
In most language you talk to God as a one-person with big capital.
In English God and the king/queen have a own way to be adress: Thou.
Or something like that. 😄
@Anna Koch: That's not true. When people talked to royalty, they always used 'Your Majesty', 'Your Highness', 'Your Excellence' and such.
'Thou', 'thee', 'thy' and 'thine' are just archaic forms of pronouns 'you' (subject), 'you' (object), 'your' and 'yours' (that we use nowadays), and they used to be used in everyday context, just like 'you' and the other forms are today.

Every time I hear thw last note I get chills
loved your reaction to this video. Now you need to react to My Church and Try Everything!
In my opinion, the greatest vocal performance by anyone in Home Free is Austins solo in "O' Holy Night". it's Operatic!
Love your reactions! Have you heard their new ones, Think a Little Less; Blue Ain't your Color; Stop, Drop & Roll
I would suggest My Church, Blue Ain't Your Color, Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On and Amazing Grace (Peter Hollens ft. Home Free).
thanks for this ... beautiful ....
This is the stakes. If European peoples are replaced, all of this sort of beauty will disappear with it.
FYI - Checking their website, it looks like the video for How Great Thou Art was filmed in the Swiss Alps. So cheers to Switzerland for the beautiful landscape.
It was the Austrian Alps.
The location of the shoot “How Great Thou Art,” set against the backdrop of the scenic Alps in Austria. i think near Tyrol

it was filmed in Austria
Chilling 👏🏻
Certain parts of the US actually look like that, the Yellowstone area and certain parts of Alaska, but that video was filmed in the Swiss Alps.
The video was filmed in the Austrian Alps.
It says Swiss Alps on the article I saw about it, same mountain range anyway if I'm not mistaken.
I've heard Home Free themselves confirm it was shot in Austria (in the behind the scenes video for How Great Thou Art). They said they were there for a concert and found a location that was perfect for what they had in mind for How Great Thou Art.
gotcha, either way its a really pretty location
it makes me cry i dont know why
I think I saw somewhere where it said that was Austria

That Shakespearian shit, (thou), is in the bible a few thousand times.
The last note is like an organ.
Oh mein Herr mein Gott, wenn ich ehrfürchtig staune,
und mir all die Welten vorstelle, die Deine Hände geschaffen haben;
can you do a reaction of home free's cover of end of the road from boyz2men .... it is absolutely one of their best in my opinion
It would have been funnier if you said, "I love my home boy Willy Shakes."

Have you guys listened to any of Sam Robson's work? "I Need Thee Every Hour" is a classic!
