How To Diagnose your faulty parking sensors!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 гру 2022
- Follow these steps to diagnose your faulty parking sensors on a VW car. My screen in the Volkswagen caddy was showing a message saying the OPS (Optical Parking System) wasn't working. To know which sensor doesn't work, insert the key into ignition and switch to position 2 (do not start the car!) then put the car into reverse. Step out of the car and go to the parking sensors and touch each one individually and see which one is making a "clicking" noise. If it is making a noise then you know it's working.
This also works for other makes or car.

Perfect. Thank you for this video. The cable to one of sensors was loose. Plugged it in properly and now all working. This has saved me a bill from the local garage.
No worries! Glad it helped!
Marvelous, thank you so much man
No worries, glad it helped!
Thank you! You fix my issue 🥳🥳🥳🥳
No worries, glad it helped!
Thx mate just tried. I sprayed it with Wd40 and wolla all good. You are a legend
Ah awesome glad it worked!
Mine are intermittent, the clicking is a good hint so will try that the next time mine decides to play up. Oh and how loud does that warning need to be lol
No worries hopefully you get it sorted. And yh it's so annoying hahah everyone you put it into reverse....
Hi Will, my volvo v40 has all 4 parking sensors not working. Do you think its a fuse box issue? Thanks
Hi, it could be, have you checked all of the sensors at the back to see if any have disconnected?
Does the ignition need to be on to check the clicking?
Yeah it needs to be on.
Did you leave the car in reverse first before you went to hear the clicking or was it in neutral and engine running
Yeah whack it in reverse first 🙂
So you need to do it with 2 people?
I just pressed my parking sensors button by the gear stick and went to check them and found the one not clicking, no need to put in reverse
all clinking but no luck i checked with vds error speaker ground does that effect any thing the yewllow light at the dash keeps flashing
Im not sure I know what you mean sorry. Do you have the same system as me?
How do you test the front sensors, all my rears are clicking but system still not working? Are the front and rear linked?
Are the front ones clicking?
None of the front are clicking, I suspect the panel shop didn’t attach the main harness 🤦🏻♂️
I've got 2 vws, a passat that has this error clicking doesn't work for me. A golf which the sensors do work and still the clicking doesn't work for me.
Oh weird, annoying that clicking doesn't work. I did actually find that some days I couldn't hear the clicking. Have you fixed it?
Nope, can't hear anything from any sensor even on my golf. I've even tried vagcom and says low voltage I believe but it doesn't say which one it is specifically, if that's the fault.
@@1987tjscott Parking Aid module is common on VW
I went to ask. Is your car in reverse for you to put your finger on it. Or is it when it’s neutral
It's in reverse 🙂
None of my parking sensors are clicking ! I got passat estate Uk model and getting same message on screen
Hmm ok, might be a wiring issue, have you checked to see if they are all still connected?
My sensors all click but the park assist doesn’t work. Also I have no warning
Oh that's weird, have you got it sorted?
Do you have to put the car in R to test or just in P fine ?
@@jackhewitt8614 if you put it into R then you can test them.
@@willsvanadventures I meant the finger test dowse the car has to be in Reverse or in Park ? Dose car need to be running or just ignition on ?
I have a audi a3 2021 and doesn't show me on the screen nothing, only what i have is the sound.
Can you hear the sensors clicking when you press near them?
@willsvanadventures the sensors are working but I don't know why on the screen doesn't show me nothing. Only when I try to park I have only the sound of sensors.
Did you manage to solve this issue. Got the same problem with my 2014 a5 audi
@evilkaido not yet and its terrible. I don't know what to do. It's better for me to give back the car.
Looks like mine had dust on
Need to give mine a clean soon hahah
