Any QB in the position with the Vikings will be in good hands, maybe not superbowl caliber but still in a good environment. If Sam leaves, he probably won’t have the same impact he does with the Vikings.

And I think you're overlooking his impact at the Panthers - he went 8-9 there, and everyone since has gone 8-40. I don't know whether you're any good at math, but you should be able to work out that the Panthers were 5 times better with him, than without. I'd say that is making a difference.
