I constantly get asked if I ever do traditional art, so I decided to do this fun video to answer that question!
This video was a MASSIVE undertaking to say the least, so I hope you enjoy....2 cameras, both filming in 4K with more than 250GB in raw footage (the entire customization process took me over 6 hours from start to finish so that was a lot of video to go through and edit!)

These are amazing! Did you put any coat over the final design in order to keep the shoe from fading over time? or are sharpies more than capable over the test of time? I'm looking to do some custom shoes as well and am trying to figure out the full process. Thank you and keep making videos! They help so much!

Awesome artwork. I recently started experimenting with sharpie on canvas and made a bag that I loved and then I tried sealing it with Scotchguard and everything bled. Sooo disappointed. What should I use to seal sharpie on canvas so that won’t happen? Appreciate your experience and advice.
Cool idea and art work. You could have prepped the base with a clear fabric primer to avoid the bleed. However you did a great job so clearly you do not need the primer. Can these shoes be wet? I know sharpies are permanent but I am just wondering. Thank you.
Going to seal them! I knew they would bleed so that was a part of the challenge, lol!

This seeing this title as I was scrolling made me think about about how I could use some kind of Lidar app to take a photo of my vans and sketch out a design that I can then use as reference to paint those vans! Very cool!

I have a question about custom shoes. I guess do you apply something at the end of the process. Like a finisher or water/stain repellent. It will be durable? How long will it last the picture on it.

Your videos are always superb but this one is next level. loving the tips on bleed, but I have a few questions: 1) Could someone make a business from this? Obviously you have experience But could you discuss how you design this before you start inking the shoe? 2) How do you visualise what you are going to draw on the shoe? (Do you sketch it out first?) 3) Also, where can you acquire blanks like these? Thanks again, great video.
Thanks so much! To answer your questions: 1) Yes, you could possibly make a business out of this (I know there are some people out there who do this), but I personally have no interest in it. My mindset and approach to artwork is to make digital art that I can resell/re-use over and over which will bring in perpetual/residual/passive income. These shoes took about 6 hours from start to finish so I would have to sell them for hundreds of dollars to cover my time (and then that’s it-I would never make any more money off of that single pair again- so even the sale price wouldn’t cover what I could make eventually if I spent that time doing digital work to re-use later.). Each person is different though, so others may be ok with that business model. 2) I didn’t sketch anything out for this one-the design was fairly simple and I could see it in my head- for a more complicated design I would probably sketch it out first on paper. 3) Shoes are nothing fancy-just plain white Vans sold at any store that carries the brand. I have one question. I made a pair of shoes but I am not sure what to use to seal them. What do you use to keep the shoes waterproof and to keep the ink from smudging if they get wet

Read somewhere, you're suppose to let ink dry for 24 hours, then seal.
I'm a size 12, but I'll make it work. I tried customizing a pair of shoes one time and just did terrible. That was about 3 years ago though, so maybe I should try again! - my instagram is @lauxdraws

Not sure what scotch guard would do- I am going to seal them though
