I've always defaulted to the mow, edge, then blow method. But just looking at how amazing your lawn looks, I might have to try your technique! Thank you once again for another helpful video!
At different times and on different lawns I've gone through all the different steps. For my lawn I trim, mow, blow. That works best for me at my place.
Your theory is a good one. But I think it depends if you have to trim, my opinion would be Edge, Trim, Blow then Mow. After you edge and trim, you can blow everything to the grass and then Mow.
I like your style. I may have to tinker with this one. Trim to eat up all the clippings when I mow. Then edge before blowing to get the crispest edge possible without wheels going over 'em. Always finish with the blow! Thanks for the feedback bro!
I do a quick edge and trim the outer parts then mow and then trim what's missing then blow. Sometimes depending the yards I will define the edges over again before I blow
If the lawn isn't too long, I mow first then weed wack then edge then blow. I edge last before blowing because I cut the lawn 3 times in three different directions so I'm running over the edge a lot and flatting it down. I like the crispest edges.
☀️Yeah, used to be an A guy, but lately a C. I typically edge, mow, trim, blow. I mostly edge and trim every other mow depending on time of year! 👍 Another great video! 😎
D. Have a few trees. So I blow fallen leaves and what nots from behind shrubs and off patio and off driveway into middle of the yard to be mulched up. Then mow. Then edge. Then trim. Then blow again. Then hit the cement crack weeds and under chain link fence with round up. Then clean up all equipment
I do D. I trim first to get the grass by the house and hardscape that the mower doesn’t reach, then mow and go over those areas i clipped to get those higher grass blades, then edge and finally blow.
I do C (string trimmer then edge) but neighbor has a service that edges, blows and then mows and you really can't tell the difference. We moved into this house recently and have mulched beds without any artificial borders and I was wondering the best way to keep the clippings, mostly from edging/weed whacking along the beds' borders, from ending up mixed in with the mulch. Using the blower gets the job done but it also blows the mulch out too, making more of a mess. Thanks and will be looking at the other videos.
What do you do or have you had any issues with common Bermuda growing in the yard? I’m starting to see some spots of common Bermuda growing. Yard looks nice and I usually edge then mow.
I had some in my old lawn and just learned to live with it. New lawn is all Tifway 419. Still a long way to go to get it into shape. Sod was laid back in December. Appreciate ya watching.
I tend to stick edge first (very messy with a golden edge carbide blade) , then mow, then line trim the parts the reel mower missed, then blow. If there’s a lot of debris from the edging I’ll use the rotary to bag before I reel mow. If the lawn has sticks or rocks I’ll blow them off before I mow. If I’m lazy I just mow. Sometimes I do it completely differently. It’s always evolving
I like edging and blowing my hard surfaces first, that way I can mow and mulch ever thing but then I but then I bought a echo blower that also has a bagger I can vacuum up the clippings if skip a week or two of edging.
Good question. If you have really overgrown edges, you can edge them, blow the clippings into the lawn then mulch them with the mower. It will just result in a cleaner finished product. Yes it’s more work and not likely to be done all the time but an option for sure. Hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Our idea of overgrown edges may be differing here. Sounds like you’re referring to neglected edges. In that case, you’d want to edge and put the dirt and excess material into a lawn bag or trash bin. There’d be too much to blow into the lawn for my liking. Hope this helps. Thank ya.
C, about 3/4 of the time. As you have seen in my videos, I have large yard with several sections and flower beds. Edge, mow, blow, takes 2 hours or more. Sometimes, i just don't have the time, so I just mow and blow. Thankfully, with fescue, my edges don't get too overgrown
So just bought my home. About to mow the law tomorrow. But was thinking about weed eating first so the mower can bag all the weeds and poison Ivy from the side of the house. Bad idea?
I think C is the most common among the OCD enthusiasts. Me? I end up skipping edging and weed eating until it is in desperate need 😂 (not what I recommend... that’s just what happens)
Its a pgr specifically for turf edges. Keeps it under control so you can look sharp longer. I haven't tried it yet but after my reno i will be compelled to get at it.
Edge/weed wack, Mow and blow with rotary. Reel cut I Edge/weed wack then blow and mow and then blow again. Of course bagging is a must for that prestine look. A seriousness really dont matter as long as you= happy with the final look.
UA-cam literally put a video ad 30 seconds into the video... anyway, before I watch the rest I'm just gonna mention the order I follow. Mow, trim/edge, then blow. I mow first so I can come back with the string trimmer to match the cut height of the mower, then blow the clippings off hard surfaces back into the lawn and blow off the mower itself while I got the leaf blower out. Sometimes, I'll run back over where the clippings from the blower went so the mower can chop them up, but that's only when I get behind on my schedule and the clippings are big.
I weed eat 1st then mow 2nd ( with bag )so mower pick up from what I trimmed & if weeds begin to grow then mower picks it up , then I ( still ) sweep it up
There are some folks that think the order you do things helps. In my opinion, I would say it really makes no difference. Pre-emergent and frequent mowing are the best ways to combat weeds. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I generally say I'm gonna do it then wait 3 weeks then only mow because I'm lazy and work to much then watch videos like this get motivated then only weed eat for 15 minutes then go inside for a popsicle and a nap
I mow first like 99% of the time, the other 1% I edge and weedeat first just to do something different...I always edge with a weed eater though I tried an edger and was disappointed
The first thing I do is to take the long sleeve shirt off before I go outside to mow. Truth be known, 99% of the people who pass in front of your house probably wouldn't notice a dead cow on the lawn, much less how "perfect" the grass looks. Actually, I do whatever the mood strikes. There is no need to make that a boring ritual which cannot be changed. Blessings, my friend.
Haha, I think I made this early in the spring. And you're so right. We're the only ones with the crazy idea that other people care.
