- The beautifully haunting ending song of the raw experience of horror and deep psychological unpleasantness, that is the film Midori: Shoujo Tsubaki.
Give the movie a shot, especially if you’re a horror fan. It has a bad reputation that’s undeserved, in my opinion. Yes, it’s horrific, but isn’t the purpose of the horror genre to be horrific, just as how it’s the purpose of the comedy genre to be comedic and the fantasy genre to be fantastical?
This anime has an unique artstyle, and this ending song is so sorrowful which fits to Midori, I can imagine Midori's hanging corpse swinging while this song played

I was thinking the same thing about the art style but the urban legend photos are what scared me in the first half. But knowing them is even darker when you know the stories behind them.

Hi! I've been doing some research on this song (since I love it so much) and here's what I found: title should be 迷子のリボン (Maigo No Ribon), singer 中美奈子 (Minako Naka) and J. A. Seazer (J・A・シーザー) the composer!
THE CREDIT FOR FINDING THIS SONG GOES TO A GUY WHO REPLIED TO A COMENT IN THIS VIDEO
Upon searching, looks like Minako Naka's only role. I'm guessing she was one of the amateur voice actors hired for this film since no one else wants to get involved with it.
So ironic that only one man worked on this movie, yet the credits has so many written on it.

The pain and mental degredation of this poor girl. Was it severe depression, PTSD, or did she finally snapped? But in the song it sounds she has enough mental capacity to say she wants to remain a human and child. People can be such monsters in this world.

The vocals are haunting, the song's beat is steady and has a decent pace. The goddamn B A S S is hella good, I also notice the piano in the background. The drums sound great and fit perfectly and the synthesizer is just so great. This song is everything I could ever want. If one of you kno the official name for the song, please tell me. Dear god.

Even though I absolutely hate Shoujo Tsubaki because of how absolutely rotten to the core and shameless it is, I gotta admit, this is a very nice song. So tragic and melancholy. That one lyric “I want to remain a child” will probably really stick with me the most because I relate to that in so many ways........... 🙃🥺😢😭

Idk i take it as them talking about the guy that died she was with. I dont really get suicide or hanged vibes. Someone tell me where the evidence is so im not lost?
"I have taken off my red shoes" - in Japan, it's common for people who decide to end their lives to take off their shoes before the act.
"Who are those people down there?" - this could either refer to her literally hanging from a tree, or as in she's looking at the world from "above".
"I want to stay a child, I want to stay human" - not particularly about hanging or death, just reinforces the fact that there's no way back from her situation.
Those are just a couple of lines that I tried to analyze and found them somehow related to the ending. Maybe I'm looking too deep into it, other than that, the lyrics don't make much sense to me.
