BEFORE??… or AFTER??? | Parquet hardwood floor transformation

This week we transform this stunning Tasmanian Oak (Australian Hardwood) parquet hardwood floor. The brief from the client was to get rid of that orange tone and bring it back to its natural, lighter timber colour. No talking, oddly satisfying, loud and deep ASMR sounds.
We started with 50grit on the machines, moving up to 80grit and finally 120grit on the Epoch. The entire floor was then trowel filled with Pafuki mixed with fine saw dust and lightly buffed after drying. Finally we applied water based polyurethane with the final coat being an extremely durable and hardwearing finish in an Ultra Matt sheen.

I’ve been speaking to a Berger Seidel distributor and he says to keep raw finish on oak floors don’t use a primer just go 3 coats of Natural white 2k poly. Do you recommend this approach?

Yes definitely, we often do 2 coats of NaturalWhite and final coat with CeramicStar 👍🏻 we find 3 coats of NaturalWhite sometimes is too white

Nah it’s completely clear mate so just seals - very durable top of the range product, it’s mint 👌🏻
