I like the gaps they give character

I am maybe in the minority but I loved the imperfections in the floor before they were filled and matted over. To me the after shots make the floor look like a cheaper laminate or vinyl floor.

You could have taped off the darker part and stained the lighter color to match so it wouldn't look like a giant mistake.

Sorry but without any stain those floors look like they are made from shipping pallets. Sure the orange wasn’t great but the raw pine isn’t either.
