  • Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you are all having a great week... I have spent most of my free time decorating for fall. Early, I know, but I'm too excited.

    Another note about "allongé" - some of you dancers may recognize it as a choreographic term to describe the arms extending from 4th position - and you're right! A lot of ballet terms are repeated throughout repertoire and exercises when the person is demonstrating entirely different things, and this can get very confusing. Often, it is because the word (in French) is describing an ACTION, not a POSITION, which is the case here for allongé.
