Real silver is good, I had a 16 years old silver necklace that I turn into a bracelet and it still looks like I just bought it yesterday. Plus it never irritates my sensitive skin 👌 cause some cheap metal do that, so be aware

@@looneydoo it's a common misconception but surgical steel is not actually a regulated term, it's just a marketing term for steel. High grade steel should tell you more information on the type of metal in regulated terms not just unregulated marketing phrases such as surgical steel. What is actually a regulated term and grade of metal is implant grade. For things like body jewelry and piercings if you have a history of reactions to jewelry implant grade titanium might be worth looking into. It's the least likely metal for allergies and cannot leach anything toxic into you. Like I have a lot of different peircings and only have implant grade titanium which is the same grade of metal in my bone implants on one leg (which can actually even go through an MRI as it's not magnetic.) Just be sure with any type of metal for any jewelry the brand can verify in some way that their metal is of the quality it says it is (like all my body jewelry came with proof from different third party testers and regulatory bodies that the metal was actually implant grade titanium not just some random ass titanium alloy containing god knows what toxins. Something surgical steel can't promise due to the lack or regulation on the term, anyone can use it for any grade or steel completely legally)

I think the only benefit of low quality rings is that they are adjustable sometimes. I find better quality to not have that function sadly and my ring sizes are odd so I can't always buy a ring as is.
When they arent real they will turn your fingers green and usually come broken when you order from places like shein, and having an actual ring is way nicer than having a fake and easily brakeable ring.
Adjustable rings exist that are made of sterling! Don't give up good quality just because your ring size is inconsistent

Clear nail polish usually does the trick if you want cute stuff but on a budget
or clear gloss spray paint! i found that some clear nail polishes peel really easily 🫶🫶

Let’s look at it another way. Let’s use a building. Without a good foundation, everything will crumble. If the engineers use faulty materials, no matter how beautiful on the outside, it all crumbles. Now - fashion houses CREATE their own fabric, prints, beading etc, those people are artisans of many cultures to bring in those works of art to market. Yes you have to pay, and yes the name will and does hold weight because of the foundation it was built on.

Shein is a cheaper alternative, you get what you pay for.
Yours are made with time and love, which cost more, again, you get what you pay for.
So if you want these rings for fashion, shein might be the option for you. If its an engagement ring you're looking for, dont buy from shein. Save up for the expensive ring you want for your love so itll last as long as your relationship.
And guys if you wanna know if a gold or silver ring is real do the magnet test. If it's pure silver or gold it wouldn't be magnetic and stick to the magnet, if it sticks then it has copper or other metals in it
Cooper isn't magnetic as far as I know. Iron is tho. But at least some types of stainless steel aren't.
Jewellery silver isn't pure. Pure silver is too soft. Sterling silver or 925 silver is 92.5% silver and is mixed with another metal like copper, nickel or zinc to make it harder.

I'm with you, I dislike silver and sterling silver jewelry because you have to babysit silver so much. It oxidizes easily, can't wear it in water, always have to polish it, etc. I only wear 10k or 14k gold jewelry because I don't have to babysit it, I can just wear it all the time anywhere and not have to think twice
Silver tarnishes quicker in humidity and air pollution so that may be why yours needs so much care.

Some people have skin sensitive to nickel, brass, copper (fake silver or plated) and it irritates their skin. It’s always better for real silver so you don’t turn green and so your jewelerry lasts.

Those of us with metal allergies appreciate the real silver, gold or stainless steel jewelry. I never used to be allergic but now I can't wear any of my cheap earrings without it kind of burning after a while.

I don’t know about other countries, but in the UK rings / jewellery have to be hallmarked, which lets you know what metal it is. So sterling silver is 925, and they will have this engraved somewhere on it (usually the inside of the band for a ring).

The only down side with prongs on the ring is over time they will dig in to the gem and make it crack. So really glue is better but you need a certain type of glue for it to work.

I remember this one time where I had put on my moms ring from SHEIN and it got stuck at 2:30 am and I had to go to the Emergency room to cut it off it was kinda funny but it did hurt and I wasn’t able to put any ring on my finger before it healed after 3 weeks ( I think)
Quality is way better then quantity. Its better to spend more on something that will last a long while than having to keep buying something(this goes for absolutely anything)

Nice! I hate any kind of “plated” jewelry, except rhodium on silver because you won’t notice it wearing off as much. Most plated jewelry is junk that will look nice for a while then you’ll never want to wear it again. Like the fast fashion of the jewelry world.
