this type of pain you're describing is the whole reason i started DIY-ing and I kept gaslighting myself thinking I was crazy for buying the kokoist 300$ curing unit but I knew i was a beginner and didn't want to worry about anything--least of all uncured or overcured gel, so i just bought the same brand--and NOW IM SO GLAD I DID and thank you for confirming that was a good move. (i did watch your previous 'starting out as a nail tech' video months ago too so im glad the message about using the same unit as your brand hasn't changed)
I’ve noticed the Vietnamese WAY over file!! I’ve literally told them I wanted ONLY paint or a fill with NO filing! I’ve had a couple of salons or techs file SO hard my fingertips throbbed for DAYS! From inflammation that caused PAIN, redness AND swelling!! When I said I didn’t want filing, one place wouldn’t do my nails and I willingly walked away to give my business elsewhere and gave them a bad review on google maps where everyone who knows where to get reviews goes u less referred by a friend . They really need to do what each client desires NOT what they like or at used to doing - some are more sensitive and if they’re not they sure are after leaving a place where they have a tech that loves that nail file! I’ve even had them file the side of the finger !!! Crazy!!
I literally just got mine done and the sides of my fingers burn and have bled a little from the filing and under the clear coat, there's scratches from the over-filing :(
The pain I had was when they guy attempted to peel off the nails and not soak them off. Hurt pretty bad and I warned him, if he tried that again, I would pull his out with pliers. This was in a "chop shop", quick in and out. I've stopped going and then with the pandemic, I started to do them myself. Another pain was the heat from the efile, they said I was too sensitive, not true. Thanks for the info!
I had a new set out on today and during it, after they’ve soak off the gel polish off and had prepped and applied sns powder, my finger tips started lingering with pain. I told my technician that my fingers hurt a lot and she put some clear liquid from a bottle onto the underside of fingers and the pain subsided…she said it was because I had gel beforehand but I’m confused on how gel polish made my fingertips hurt so much.
Thank you for this information. I didn't know about lthe amp thing. I'm not going to take any chances. I'm going to purchase a lamp for the 2nd system that I use. I'm brand new to doing my nails. I appreciate your content.
So I got a gel manicure on natural nails like 3 days ago. Some pain in my finger tips only and zero rash or anything that looks like the allergic reactions people show. Is it more likely over cured or something? I noticed there’s bends in my nails now as if the gel like is pulling
Is there a way to fix nails that are lifting from nail bed? Over the pat year my big toe nails have been breaking half way down so I think there may have been an issue with a past pedicure that I didn’t catch. I have stronger nails and this has been so frustrating.

Thank you for this information. I learned a couple of things from it to help my clients.
My nails tend to feel achy/sore after scratching. Does this mean I’m applying my nails wrong or I’m just being too rough on my nails?

Yes, what a great video! Thank you for all the info♥️ I do have a question.. Can you get an allergie reaction from the uv/led lamp?
Not sure. I feel like I’ve heard this before, maybe a Google or contacting manufacturer directly.

Why do my acrylic get so hot immediately after application?
Chemical reaction. Put alcohol on it n the burning sensation will stop.
