I don't have the s1pro+ but this setup is my favorite setup. Compact and the sound is amazing! I do like the Everse 8 and the ELX200 12SP a lot, but to my ears the Bose S1pro and sub1 is my favorite. If I need more volume I use a mixer. LOL 🤣 Great video!
@WWeiss-nv5vz those 2 systems are very close in sound and portability. The PRX1 has a 7 channel mixer and the app for it has been updated and works great. You can EQ the main and each channel separately. I thiit has phantom power on 3 channels . It is an amazing system. You really have to play with it a while to figure out everything it can do. The Everse 8 and ELX200 12SP has just enough to get by and definitely delivers. And they cost about the same. They both make great bluetooth speakers but if you don't want to carry a sub the Everse 8 sounds really good by itself. So that is a hard call. I love them both and don't plan on getting rid of either one and I use them both about equal. LOL That being said I can't really answer that question because they are so close in the sound you can get out of them and with my 600watt power station I can fill a pretty bit space. I guess it would depend on how many channels you need.
Hello what’s the cable called or number used to connect the sub 1 to a Bose s1 pro? Any recommendations to use? Thanks 😊 I got the speaker now looking to get the sub. Just wanted clarity on the process and connection cable!
Thanks for your feedback! That's my goal for this channel, help people get the best gear for their $$$/needs. There are so many choices in the portable PA speaker segment!
I greatly appreciate the very informative vid, Bill especially now that I'm looking to add a sub to my S1/ Fishman 220. Would appreciate any suggestions you might have pls on how to connect this pair to say the Sub 1. Am wondering too whether you're familiar with the Yorkville sub YXL 10SP. I'm not but am curious why with salient specs of 500W program, 34.5 lb, list $549, I don't find it mentioned in conversations of "micro PA". Many thanks-
Hi Bill, thanks for all your valuable insights. I’d appreciate your opinion on the Maui 5 Go vs the Bose Compact. I have a Compact and like the battery flexibility of the Maui 5 Go and was wondering how it compares sound wise to the Compact. Many thanks in advance.
Thanks for your feedback. To be honest, haven't A/B ed them in a very long time. Maui 5 has a superior high end, Bose has your typical rolled off highs that sounds like someone threw a blanket over the speaker. Bass is about equal between the two. Maui is nice because it has separate gain control for the sub section.ua-cam.com/video/WSw32MeGv_0/v-deo.html
@@WWeiss-nv5vz Many thanks again, your insights are much appreciated. I haven’t found an AB comparaison of the Compact and 5 anywhere, maybe something for you to consider?
Hi Bill, I'm a big fan of your videos specially if your doing on Bose speakers. I think you you can remove or reduce the bass from the s1pro+ if you engaged the sub EQ mode on the s1pro+ which is an additional good feature not on the previous s1 if I'm not wrong. . Continue to make more informative Bose videos ;) cheers!
Everse 8 is great! viewer comment: Compared to Everse 8, Bose S1Pro Plus does not sound as loud, but with higher fidelity in reproducing small nuances. Bose is more accurate and musical. Everse is more assertive, punchy and creates more rumble. Moreover, the difference in sound accuracy is also noticeable at low volumes for the room. All this is a pure comparison without tones and equalizers. Due to their presence in Everse 8 (two 7-band graphic and parametric), it wins. Suitable for any working conditions in any room or outdoors. If you wish and know how to use equalizers, you can customize any sound to suit your taste. Bose has no equalizers, just regular bass/treble tone. But out of the box at normal volume it sounds more pleasant to the ear (at least for my personal one), more natural than Everse 8.
Can you please share a link to the stand? I was scanning the website and found this one. But did not get how did you take out the tri leg stand out from the pole?
Yes, I play acoustic and Roland e-Drums. This combination is great for home use or very small gigs under 50 people. My live rig is a single QSC K8.2 over the Bose Sub2. For output and realistic kick drum thump the Sub 2 is a huge step up from the Sub1!
@@WWeiss-nv5vz Thank you! I play my Alesis kit through a Harbinger 15 inch speaker which works ok. Going to be picking up one of the Bose S1s in the next few days. Plan on using it for my piano and acoustic guitar and possibly the kit once I get the sub.
Great video! Do you know if it’s possible to run 2x Bose S1 Pro Plus at the same time while having the Sub 1 connected? I’d love to know if both speakers keep their sample volume while only one is connected to the sub. Or do I have to connect both speakers to the sub in this case? Thanks in advance 😊
Thanks for the compliment! Do it all the time, one speaker connected to the sub run in a chain, zero loss of volume! ua-cam.com/video/gldnIZV7hjA/v-deo.html
Ultimate Bass? Pair of S1 Pros with Sub2! ua-cam.com/video/gldnIZV7hjA/v-deo.html This was actually my first video from 3 years ago, time flys when you are Rocking Out!
WARNING! During this bass heavy track at high volume the Sub1 started to bottom out. Metal woofer basket hitting enclosure. Not good for longevity of sub. The dangerous part, the sub remained on green. Very hard to hear unless the top is off. Probably 11-11:30 on the gain is safer for extreme bass tracks at max volume.
Hi! Question! If the Bose S1Pro Plus is turned off and 100% charged. After a while, disconnect it from the power supply. Then after 24 hours it will discharge by 2%. The next time you turn on the speaker in the Bose Music app, it will be 98% charged. I bought a new column at the end of July 2024. Firmware 3.3.0. I did not immediately pay attention to the self-discharge. Now I have specifically tracked the time and want to find out if other owners of the Bose S1 Pro plus have such a phenomenon or not. Thanks!
I think the goal has been achieved with this combo.
Agree!

So for the next step up in volume needed you would take the EV8/ELX200 pair or go to a single PRX One?

@WWeiss-nv5vz I agree 💯 %. I will be getting it soon. LOL and probably a second EV ELX200 12SP. 😁

Good point on sub EQ! I will mention that as a strength of the new model.
