But it's sharing data from cellular connection via VPN only. How do we share internet from the same WiFi connection via VPN from mobile to devices like apple , Xbox , Roku etc. That is what we need to know

you should do actual video how to set this up without that bloody app, cause its not now working in android 11 beta nor was it working right in android 10 (pie theres gotta be a way to make it work throguht the phone with some inphone iptables changes using terminal emulator in the phone. Apps get obsolete, i would rather learn it manually (thats a golden infomation to pass, then some bloody app)
There is no single method to root phone, each devices have a different method of rooting. However, in general, it's a 2 step process. First, you need to unlock your smartphone's bootloader (it's a thing that manufacture adds to prevent you to make major changes on your phone) and second, you need to flash a SU or magisk (a zip file) to root your phone. I will recommend you check our UA-cam videos or XDA on how to root your phone.

Am I missing something? I use express VPN, connect then just activate the hotspot feature on my pixel 3xl and have my laptop login to that. I've never had a phone that didn't allow the creation of a hotspot or any other issues. No root required.

I can use the hotspot but when I have the vpn active on the device providing the hotspot connected devices will not be routed through the VPN. I have to run the VPN on the individual devices that are connecting to the phone or device providing the hotspot to maintain security. Thanks for the reply, I may have made a costly error with my assumptions. I always test through ipleak.net once I setup a new secure connection and would have noticed the lack of VPN routing. Unless I didn't. :)
You got very very confused with that ping exercise. You said type 'ipconfig' which is a Windows command but you typed 'ifconfig' which is a linux (and mac, it seems) command. You also just pinged your own ip address - that is you pinged your own laptop from that exact same laptop, and said you were pinging the phone. You were not pinging your phone, your pings never left your laptop. You need another command to find the gateway that you intended. On linux it's 'ip route'. You could try the same on mac probably. On windows it's 'route print' I think. Maybe you had an off day or needed another coffee :-)

if you don't know it's not safe for you , it's voids warranty by giving root access to 3rd party apps

This only works when connecting to the VPN through your mobile data, it will not allow you to connect to the internet with Wifi.

Hello, by default Android OS doesn't allow you to share VPN over hotspot. Are you able to do it without 3rd party app?
