Thanks, this helped me! In case you are not sure what connection you need to edit, or what is your hotspot connection name - you can open that "Network connections" window beforehand, and then turn on VPN / hotspot while whatching some connection turning active - that will be the one you're looking for
Maaaaaaaaaaan, you are the MAN!!! I was trying to find the way to do it without using routing command on one of the exotic VPN providers that supports only TUN protocol, it worked like a charm. Thank you so much 😙
Very helpful, thank you. One addition: In my Windows setup which is done by my university, the option to get to network adapters through "settings" was not available. Instead, by picking at the video, I directly brought up "Control Panel -> Networks and Internet -> Internet Connections and got access to the adapters that way.
Amazing video and above all - IT WORKS! Thanks for such a detailed instructions! 😎 Tried it from Serbia here as well ✌😊 Just a note for someone who might get "no internet" or "disabled hotspot settings" errors -> VPN needs to be disconnected initially. (even though at 0:19 it seems otherwise) And second, when configuring the adapter - there are two adapters for ExpressVPN (TAP and TUN) so make sure you configure the correct one 😉
Thank you so much for your positive feedback! I'm glad the instructions worked for you in Serbia too. 😎 Your notes about the initial VPN disconnection and choosing the correct adapter are super helpful. It's these little details that can sometimes trip us up, so thanks for sharing your experience! Enjoy your VPN setup and happy browsing! ✌😊
Is there any way to share my home's fiber oi Internet using the VPN, to use the Internet on my cell phone or computer I want to test from a very long distance?
If your Firestick displays a "No Internet" message when connected to a shared VPN, try these steps: First, ensure your VPN settings are correct, then restart the Firestick. Switch to a different VPN server if needed. Check your base internet connection for stability and router/firewall settings for interference. Keep your VPN app updated and make sure it's Firestick-compatible. If problems persist, contact your VPN provider's support for assistance. It's important to have a reliable internet connection and the right VPN settings to resolve this issue.
@@vpnMentor I am a Ruijie secure gateway in both locations configures IPSec VPN. I have several desktops connected to the VPN with no issues. Will try your instructions again. Thank you for responding.
Your wireless connection is probably what is slowing you down. Anything with a wireless 802.11ac or better network interface should be more than adequate.
Great thanks for the video. Does this work exactly the same way on my phone? I have a VPN on my phone so if I switch that to OpenVPN and turn the hotspot on?
Hi 🖐 Unfortunately, on the phone, it works a little differently. One option is to root your phone (if it is an Android phone). Another solution is to use a proxy application that can share your VPN connection through a hotspot. Hoping that this helped you😄
Hi there, Yes, it should work with a wired Ethernet USB adapter, but you need to implement the same settings on the USB network adapter as you did on the wireless one. Hoping that this helps :)
That was helpful. Now the question is How to do the same thing, with our cell phone as the mobile hotspot? I mean is there any way to connect to a VPN with our cell phone first, then share that connection via our cell phone and use that with other devices?
Great question! Yes, you can first connect your cell phone to a VPN and then use it as a mobile hotspot. Devices connected to this hotspot will use the VPN-secured connection. Just ensure your phone's VPN is active before enabling the hotspot feature. Happy browsing!

Hey @helviocarvalho6252 I will try to help you, but I’m not 100% sure this is the issue, because you set it up differently. :) You need to share the ExpressVPN adapter with that connection. So in the video (1:47), when I’m sharing my ExpressVPN connection to the Ethernet adapter, you need to find your USB Ethernet adapter. I am hoping that this will fix your issue! 😊
@@vpnMentor , thanks for replying and trying to help. U fortunately my setup is exactly the same as the video, which also follows the instructions from NordVPN. So basically what I done: 1 - connected the laptop to an Ethernet cable to the router (using an Ethernet - Usb adapter, given my laptop doesn't have an Ethernet port); 2 - activated mobile hotspot; 3 - on network, changed the Tap-VPN to allow user to connect and selected the respective network for microsoft wifi direct virtual adapter (which in my case is loca connection 2) 4 - changed the vpn to UDP or TCP protocols Doing all those steps, the hotspot is created, but devices can't connect to it. Hey @idkaname3730 I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly-are you having trouble with your speed when connected to the hotspot? Try keeping your hotspot close so you don’t lose too many data packets due to distance. You can also try using a different VPN server, as the one you're using might be experiencing issues right now. Additionally, you can contact support; they can help if something is wrong with the VPN. 😊
@@vpnMentor thanks yea the issue is my mbps drops significantly when joining the hotspot and I am only around 10ft away from the hotspot so I dont think it would be distance and if I understand correctly then if I change vpn servers to one closer to me then it should be faster but it is still roughly the same speed thanks you for your help 🙏
