They were a lot better than go pro’s. I had one and my riding buddies had go pros. Even they said the footage was better. Didn’t fish eye, sound was better as well, image stabilisation.
All of the sony action cams do have fisheye, but with the stabilisation on the fisheye was a lot less noticable. I remember getting a gopro hero session after having a sony action cam, and I was so surprised at how bad the stabilisation (because it had none) and low light was compared to the Sony.
I have one of the 4k action cameras from Sony, with the remote (which has LCD). It also has a water proof external casing. I also like that you can thread it onto a camera mount directly, many other cams have to use adapters
I still use my HDR-AS300 and FDR-X3000 all the time, however I don't have any need for the remote viewer. For my purpose they just work, the image quality is excellent and unlike digital stabalization, those Sony have no cropping. This means you get the full resolution of the sensor. The best part of those cameras is, if they break, the user can replace damage parts, just gotta know the part number to get replacements. 99% of the content on my channel is shot on Sony Action Cameras or their FX line, great for colour matching.
Nice! Like you say the remote viewer is not always necessary because they have a wide field of view. And the X3000 and AS300 have a better lens and sensor compared to the older models so they produce a better image
@@ImportantTech I been using my camera for such a long time I have a mental idea what's in frame. Currently on the market there isn't another action camera which suits my needs, I need HDMI out.
Have bought nine of them over the years....favorite is the HDR-AS300 -- video design and size is ideal - have used to record golf rounds at the Old Course in Scotland and many others....just bought a couple recently....some are still out there used but in good shape. Despite owning 9 Go Pro's....I really don't care for them....too bad Sony stopped making a good thing.....not the first time
It depends on the model. The HDR-AS50 and AZ1 I talked about in this video don't have both features. But most sony models like HDR-AS20 / HDR-AS100 / FDR X3000 do support it.
I was just looking at one for $50 bucks, not sure it's worth it or not sd 50. Heard one of the other bigger ones with mic jack are great. Not telling you which one so prices don't go up tenfold... 😂

I love the form factor way more than the flat rectangles we get pretty much exclusively nowadays with go pros and their copies.
I bet you do😂😂

I use AS50 everyday. I have 1 for vlogs and second one with damaged lens for actions.
Nice! I don't use it every single day, but I also still love to use it sometime.

Awesome that you bought one recently! I also wish they made a new model
Does it support clean HDMI and external mic?

I thought the Sony AZ1 was cool when it came out and I still think it's cool today

Tell me you're Dutch without telling me you're Dutch.
