I am following your show from UK. Originally from Mauritius. My great great GrandParents came to Mauritius from Bihar as indentured labourers. Our culture is very similar. I also had the pleasure to work with nurses who came from Guyana. More interesting we have several Hindu priests from Guyana who conducted our religious ceremonies. Great to watch and have a real feel of Guyana and its people.

My dad chacha was the best wedding/jhandi house cook in all of canal no2. People use to ask him to go all over the place to cook for their functions. The last time I had 7 curry was 2012, I was in guyana for my cousin's wedding. I had Mauritian 7 curry last year its different to ours but you're cooking made me hungry 😆

Unlike Guyana, the proximity to India makes it possible for the language, culture and religion to be retained to a large extend. Air travel is also comfortable. I think that you guys are amazing ... brings a whole new meaning to the ideal of "keep the dharma(faith)" 😆😆😆

When I was in Guyana almost every Sunday I used to go to Mandir, and for lunch we would have dhall ,rice , aloo curry and bhajee in a purine leaf, those were they days. @Ard Pat It's the same .Growing up and visiting the Mandir in my homeland many yrs ago with Bhagan and Kirtan singing,they have the same practice here in Trinidad .The only difference is that for Phagwah or Holi Hindu in Trinidad celebrate only on the weekend after Holika Daan whereby back home it's a holiday
