    I get that you want to be playing devil's advocate. But honestly, the video was painful. Playing devil's advocate doesn't mean you have go out of your way to knock something if it means you're going to end up saying really stupid things.

    This was not an equal match up review. The T8 xc60 would have been a better comparison against the x3 m40i. 👎🏽

      They were probably hung up on the fact its a plug in hybrid powertain vs pure dino.

    A million buttons? The buttons are for the HVAC, preset buttons for the radio, and heated seats. Those are the buttons you want to have instead of having to go through a menu in the infotainment system. This isn't a very good review it all.

      This Guy EXACTLY! I don’t want to look down when I’m driving. Car reviews have this problem of approaching cars like the people who buy them will be using them for the first time everyday, which is exactly what they do.

    Dear AutoGuide, you may desire to redact the title of the video: it is named the X3 M40i, and not the X3 "M340i." Thank you.

    Complaining about a black leather interior as if an all black BMW wouldn’t look equally as bland. 🤔🤨🙄

  • @Dozer111

    They were making fun of BMW for having the M logo and X emblem on the back, WTF?! These guys sounded like they didn't know anything about cars and were just randomly asked to do a review. Also, It's not a fair comparison to match the XC60 to the X3 M40i because it's obvious to car enthusiasts which is better.

  • @JuanHernandez-ze3si
    @JuanHernandez-ze3si 4 роки тому +1

    This comparison is a bit uneven, the BMW is an X3 M40i, The Volvo is an R-Design T6 which should be compared to a regular X3 or switch the XC60 to the T8 engine.

  • @Benjamin-sn5cw
    @Benjamin-sn5cw 6 років тому +6

    This is a bit of a strange comparison. A X3 M40i at $65K+ should really go head to head with something like a Macan GTS or an SQ5. It's a sporting SUV. The Volvo goes against the Lexus RX or a GLC. It's tuned for comfort and usability, not sportiness. It should obviously be the X3 xDrive30i - that'd make more sense as they're both turbo'd 2.0L 4 cylinders. The lens flare was giving me a bit of a headache by the end too.

    • @HodsBroo
      @HodsBroo 6 років тому

    Judging the interior design based on color which is optional based on the owners preference is.... illogical? 🤔 he's trying too hard to be blunt, and isn't very successful. It's less constructive and more pointless.

      Even looking at that R-Design interior, there wasn't any reaction to the beige contrast stitching and the alcantara? I mean, that looked quite nice in my opinion even if it's black on black.

    • @Calimustang86
      @Calimustang86 6 років тому

      D3X / DevolvR I absolutely agree the details are what make a good black on black interior like this stand out. Even if I didn’t like the color I would at LEAST appreciate what they did as far as design goes.

  • @fldashxam

    • @fldashxam
      @fldashxam 6 років тому +5

      Latvietis96 The BMW maybe the better performer, but that's about it. I like everything about the Volvo. It's different, sexy, distinctive, a good infotainment system, luxurious interior and features, and it's very safe. That's just my opinion.

    This review accomplished very little. What did we find out? The Volvo has comfy seats, super safety features, and soft and slow dynamics. The BMW is faster, with a better engine, and great efficiency. No surprises.

  • @SnowHarp
    @SnowHarp 5 років тому

    Yes, sorry this was a confusing review with a lot of whining about trivial design features - you can choose options you know. Some of us like having buttons versus touch screens and once you have had the vehicle for a week, you don't need to examine the dash to find the button you need. The XC60 is expensive starting at $59K so I think the X3 a more satisfying buy. I am also surprised to hear you guys agree the design of the X3 is bland. Surely those are adjectives you reserve for Audi vehicles ? Certainly when I look at an M Package X3, it is not bland.

    There’s “too many buttons” because it’s easier to find a hard button while driving than it is to press a touchscreen which doesn’t have redundant buttons! And why are pops and bangs bad!? It’s an M!40i. It does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds! Gets 27 on the highway, has more interior space, it’s quieter and more refined in normal driving, and is overall more fully featured than the Volvo. For 5 grand more, the M40 is a much better all around car!

  • @isaacfortner

    "The story isn't as good as a straight 6."
    Ok AutoGuide, what does that even mean? I like the BMW better too, but the way you presented this made no sense at all.
    "How come there are X badges on the back?"
    Well, it's an X3, so... Also, if you follow your logic, why does the Volvo have "X" badges on the back?
    C'mon guys, we all know you're better than this! I typically like AutoGuide's reviews, but this one was an absolute mess. That's too bad, because I really was looking for a good comparison between the two cars.

    Actually, R design T6 is very not the luxury one. First, you should go to the T8, second for all the feeling of driving, the Volvo is an almost selfing drive car, that why the sensation is strange. it's made to be smooth.
    The most important in the test is to compare the pilot assist mode. Then you will understand why Volvo's experience is made that why. This car is not made to be driven, but it because your new sofa, and a 6 hours road is not anymore a problem

    I had 9 Volvos. The last a XC90 V8. I said to my dealer i won´t buy 2 Volvos now to have a 8 cylinder. So after a Porsche Cayenne i have that M40i. I would never be happy with this nice but weak and miserable sounding Volvo. Each Volvo, as they have all mere 4 cylinders. And the fuel coonsumption is even more in this tortured small 4 cylinder engines.

    Rules of UA-cam Autoguide comments: reviewers who are actually driving the car, have an opinion, down vote. The reviewers say something bad about Volvo, down vote. The reviewers say something bad about Toyota, down vote. The reviewers say something bad about Honda, down vote. Not like the way a man talks, down vote. Not Craig Cole, down vote. Really hate what the viewers of this channel have become.
