Hands down the best language learning video I've seen so far: doing the "sounds like" and having English words and the translation on the screen at the same time makes it so much easier to learn. You should do more!

Bravo! I have watched/listened to a dozen German for tourists videos and yours is by far the best. Greatly appreciated are: saying the word or phrase regularly, then slowly; and the list in the description. Thank you! My trip to Germany will be appreciably more enjoyable.

This is great and I should have started my lessons here, but I found that in Germany they are a bit more casual, like the way they just say 'danka' rather than 'danka schön', and 'bitte' rather than 'bitte schön'. I also rarely heard 'entscholdigen' and never heard 'entscholdigen sie'. I used 'entscholdigen' and said it all the time. I guess I was raised to be polite no matter who I'm talking to.

For German speakers: what is the etiquette around “Danke” and “Danke Schön”?
I’ve always took it as it being the equivalent of “Thanks” and “Thank you very much”
Is “Danke” potentially rude in certain situations; I.e. not polite/formal enough, and is “Danke Schön” too formal in certain situations?

  • @arianal5514
