I showed my dad breakcore/jungle family type music while he was driving and told him how it feels like i remember hearing similar in old n64 games, he later on told me how he felt the same similarity from the feeling of classic gran turismo. I thought about gt4 and now ended up here to this masterpiece
@@KingLich451 "breakcore/jungle family type music" I knew but my vocabulary wasn't as good at the time so i generalized it. Edit: Forgot to mention this actually sounds more as Jungle and any normal DnB, theres vocal samples and break beats. Most DnB now is electronic i remember but the drum samples are taken from real ones and edited a lot. But if i generalized it with different words now, id use Drum and Bass.
@@Junpei747 to add more to your comment, breakcore basically to sum it up is a more messy variation that derived from jungle. I would say it's an autistic version of jungle, using the amen break sample in the most complex way possible as also adding in other elements like gabber, hardcore or IDM as how it was born back jn the days. The "breakcore" term that everyone uses nowadays is misidentified for any tracks that includes the amen break. Whether it be jungle or dnb, if it has amen break these new gens will call it "breakcore" when it's so much more than just that. Oh well...
after 25 years , this track still my most favorite in Gran Turismo whole series ! I play it every day in my workouts and think about my Grand Sport C4 Corvette !
This game blew my mind when it came out back in the day and all the upgrades on the cars you can do was sick. Need for speed had nothing on GT, use to get into headed debates with friends and I’m like um are you kidding me haha, need for speed was fun but GT is on another level.
@@MrDjrecon yes sir ! in my opinion nfs is just a fun entertaining racing game that can be played by anyone out there but when you compare the franchise with gran turismo , oh boy , this is not even worth to compare ! Gran Turismo is a franchise for tough gamers and people who really love to go deep in world of cars ! not even forza , project cars and asseto corsa can stand in a fight with Gran Turismo !
Yes, it's sacrilege this fantastic alternative mix didn't find its way onto a nice 12" and/or CD. I just don't understand why it wasn't released on the original CD.
@@crypticjungle I know it's nitpicky, but the Japanese version is NTSC too, and that has a different soundtrack, "exclusive to the NTSC-U version of GT1" would be more correct
Yeah this mix is exclusive to GT - the full title is 'TMF - Higher' according to an old video Nico put up. The original version got a full release through Saigon.
Running late for work,
Time to play this song

I gotta say since I heard the original version ("5 Miles High"), I have liked the original a lot more, but this one is cool in it's own right.
Salute to my childhood

Wow, very nice!
My dear good sir, this track is not in the PAL version of Gran Turismo. NTSC/U only.
Just edited the description 👍

90s intensifies
hell yeah hell yeah DAHGH
Love this version... anyone knows where can I get it in good quality? thanks!!
This oddly reminds me of the Powerpuff girls because its sound like they sampled this for the theme I don’t know
Your hearing funky drummer in that, which was a popular sample throughout the 90's
Yeah, they're old breaks.
That's all drum n bass, especially during the 90s
Could you throw this on Google Drive in its highest quality you have?
Whats the history of TMF ? I cant seem to find anything on them.
Possibly a one-off combo between Nico, Purpose and Laughing Man.
@@MarkusAudio really?? nico? wow.
