Thanks for the video. Well done . Have 205K on my 2014 F150 3.7 liter RWD . Uses no oil ( Mobil 1 ) and so far just a few minor problems - water pump at 136K , #1 injector at 190K , upper and lower lower ball joints and outer tie rod ends at 200K just to alleviate some tire wear and new shocks/struts .Plugs every 75K miles. Ford tech told me to drop 85W-140 in diff and replace with 75W-90 to extend pinion bearing life so did at 150K . Stock stereo was junk and now days a single DIN unit with install kit is plug and play . 6R80 tranny solid and gets new fluid every 45K miles. I think this truck will go 350-400K with regular maintenance . Like the K&N cold air kit installed at 25K and upped rear diff to Ford Racing 4.10 and new seals /bearings ( from 3.73) at 150K to help lugging in 6th gear at 45-50 mph . Lost 0.2 mpg average .

Love your videos!! Decided on getting our son a 2013 F150 single cab long bed 2 wheel drive with the 3.7. He wants to do a suspension lift with bigger wheels and tires. He’s 16 and loves his new truck. It’s been very well maintained and one owner with 132k. Hoping it lasts him a very long time.
Thank you for the video Boss! Those cyclone motors are great and even when I had the Taurus with the transverse 3.5 it was a great motor. Have a great evening and God bless!
Another job well done. 🙂 I am impressed that you were able to stick the camera down in the engine bay at the end and my ears weren't blown out, that is one quite engine.

Rich, I own a 2016 Explorer with the NA 3.5. Love it, it’s the wife’s car so it gets driven easy. I’m curious if Ford has come out with an improved updated water pump. I change the oil every 3500 miles and coolant every 25,000 to 30,000 miles. I watch that weep hole behind the alternator like a Hawk.
@@FordBossMe I’ve had external water pumps fail in half that mileage. I guess it’s how much damage this one can cause when it fails because of its location. By the way Really liking your channel.
Hey Rich, I got a 2016 Ford F-150 3.5 L with a 9.75 rear differential. Do you know if these differentials take the LSD / friction modifier additive? Sometimes my customer gets some chatter every once in a long while and I think he has already replaced the rear and front end before in the past because of aggressive driving behaviour and maybe lack of maintenance who knows, but I'm taking care of the truck these days. Truck seems to drive OK with me. One of the Ford dealer's he went to they couldn't find any problems. What do you think?
For anyone else doing this job take the tensioner or the pulley off first if you plan on reusing them because in my recent experience the coolant will ruin the bearing in the pulley, I messed up the old one and the new one.
I don't call the shots asking those kind of questions to me is pointless because I'm not the engineer that chose to do that I'm sorry I can't answer that those are specific for the manufacturer not the guy replacing the part
@@FordBossMe thanks for the reply and your insight 🙏 it’s one owner and mostly freeway miles. The engine drives strong but I can only imagine the repairs needed in the upcoming short term.
Rich, I noticed that you replaced the belt tensioner as well. What are your thoughts on replacing that item when replacing the belt. I replaced belts a 2 o3 3 times on my last 2 F 150s and never replaced the tensioners or had any issues. What do you think about it?
I got 175,000 on my 2012 zero problems so far all I had to do is replace plugs and keep oil change. Anyone know can this engine come out without pulling cab? Looks like you got plenty of room . I know one day it will go boom lol . I use 5w 20 Royal purple since it was about brand new after break In

The Cyclone family of Ford V6s (3.3,3.5,3.7) are really good engines. Rather have one of those even in FWD form than the Pentastar V6 or the GM 3.6 V6
