- Building strong and healthy feet starts with returning your foot to its natural shape. The "correct toes" toe spacers are one of my favorite products to do this. I use them everyday (and even squat in them!)

This channel is so underrated.
who is underrating it?!
@@syrus3k just by the number of subscribers
This is such perfect timing! I'm suffering from Plantar Fasciitis and have been stretching my calves as that's what everyone kept telling me was the cure. My Do-Win weightlifting shoes seem to have a wider toe box but probably not wide enough. It probably doesn't help matters that I have to wear work boots for 12 hours a day!
Back in PT again for my feet and ankle and ordering these immediately!
thanks Aaron almost no one speaks about this, when my squat form got really bad without shoes i noticed my big toes pointing inward, now i know where to start rehab
Just came home from the doctor when I put on UA-cam I saw your comment how to build stronger healthy feet and hopefully I can get one of those
Vibram toe shoes are very comfortable for weight lifting. My lifts increased quite a bit when I started using them. They allow you to feel your feet and drive into the ground more.
I love this video, Dr. Horschig. I began lifting barefoot one year ago after lifting in No Bull footwear and Converse, and my lifts improved a lot, especially for practicing the "tripod food" technique that you have recommended.
IG @wardbeecher
Love all the content. Keep up the good work.
What’s tripod food?:)
@@stardust6004 Tripod foot refers to balancing all of your weight across three points in each foot: the heel and the proximal phalanx (big bones) of the big toe and the pinky toe each. Like a three-legged stool, when your weight is evenly balanced on these 3 points, you are at the safest and most stable position of the feet to initiate the main lifts.
I'm all in and back to barefoot lifestyle. This product looks amazing. Thanks!
Absolutely the best foot video EVER!
Thx!
Thank you so much for answering my question!
Incredible timing, plantar fasciitis just started in my left foot this week 😆
Hope this can help!
New to you... I've been using those for at least 5 years. PS - I feel like I should be sending you royalty payments. You've helped me get dozens of my clients get better
Thanks for this! So overlooked
Thank you, been a product similar and has been good on my knees
Hi Dr. Horschig,
First, I love your channel!
Any chance that you could do a "Fix This" episode that addresses plantar fasciitis and how to fix it? I like this episode which discusses the toe-spreading tool that you recommend. But I am very interested to know your thoughts on the muscular imbalances and your suggested rehab movements for overcoming plantar fasciitis. Every one of your tutorials is first-rate... keep up the great work!
I really can use these. Thanks
@camilladchristensen The timing of this video couldn't be better. I've started to notice my knees caving while both squatting and running, if I don't pay extra attention to my feet, but I didn't know this was a thing. Awesome!
650 squat with slight technical breakdown >>>>> 500 ibs squat with perfect form
I got a pair of Freet Chukka's for my every day use when it's dry and not below zero. Awesome shoes that allow your toes to spread and you to feel the ground. Should bee good for training too.
As always, thank you for another meaningful post.
I understand the wide toe box, but what about high arch’s? Is there a product or two that support both and can work in unison?
Thanks!
The finding at 2:50 is amazing! I never would have guessed that was the cause of plantar fasciitis.
@natesugie that’s awesome I’ve been wearing steel toed boots for the last 15 years and I’ve always had to get them a couple of sizes larger then normal so my toes won’t get crushed. And I’ve been dealing with knee hip and back pain. I’ve recently found a extra wide pair of steel toed boots and started to do foot strengthening exercises and no more hip/back pain and my knees are almost pain free.
That's great!
Came for the video and now know of different wide shoe brands. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks for the valuable information
You're welcome!
@eddycrosstrainer
I want to fix up my squat with this correcttoes!! Ty for all, amazing channel
Just ordered mine with your code!
Do you have bunions? I’m a physiotherapist and my thesis was about them
@@alexis4252 my big toes point slightly inward, moreso on the left side. I wouldn't say it's bad enough to be considered bunions yet though. Trying to nip the situation in the bud.
@@lateef1 my instagram is Alexisk96. Can we talk about your case?
Excellent. Very helpful. Thanks. God bless.
Thank you so much Sir ❤️👍
As usual I always learn so much from watching your videos. I think that the toe spreader is a game changer. I used to wear Earth shoes almost 50 years ago and think this device is a “return to healthier happy feet. How can I get a pair? Thanks.
Sweet arches you have.
Free bunion /toes gel pad.wow thank you fr.the Philippines watching your video
How should someone with multiple injuries program his strength and rehab? It tends to be really long. Have read your book. Thanks for the amazing work.
Great vid,
You mentioned that malalignment of the metatarsals and phalanges can lead to a decrease function in the medial muscles (specifically the abductor hallucis).
What about the lateral (abductor digiti minimi)?
Would this displacement be a contributing factor to bilateral ankle orthopedic pathologies?
@tony5280 Broke my 5th metatarsal a year ago. Now working to stabilize and mobilize my foundation for strength and longevity. Thank you!!
I would love for you to check out the Combat Flip Flops MK19. The MK19 is a high top shoe with a greatly wide toe box. He is veteran owned and operated and in my opinion it's the best wide toe box shoe you can get for casual wear. They're as wide as the Ursus
@srimoney
these look like such an amazing product, wow!
@carmenscompost. Love the idea of correcting toes!
Do you have any recommendations for wide toe box shoes for women? Thanks in advance-very grateful for you and all your videos!
I was just doing body squats adjusting my toes to widen compared to my curved toe(bunions) I agree that I had more stability forcing my toe into regular position
@ingrid_achievefit it’s like I found your you tube channel at the perfect time! Learning so much about correcting so many issues I’ve been having
Thank you for following the content I make!
@palsid1
Overdid the barefoot thing in my cold garage over winter and ended up with chilblains! Switched to barefoot shoes for a couple of months but now back to barefoot proper which feels great.
Amazing!
Thank you!
@the_scotty_mac great video! I’ve been looking for ways to correct my foot after spraining my ankle.
@marissalayn
I have been battling plantar fasciitis for what seems like forever and these look like a game changer!
Had a pair of Correct Toes for several years and still can't walk in them for anything longer than about half an hour without experiencing pain. Even followed their booklet advice to cut parts off, to make them fit better, but still hasn't helped. Best solution I found was to use individual toe separators which are reasonably comfortable. Anybody been able to use Correct Toes without pain?
@sacristar
Been thinking about these for a while but I'm a little averse to ordering online when the delivery costs are too substantial in relation to the thing I want to buy.
Also bonus question: What are the best wide toe box oly shoes out there?
Makes so much sense it’s scary.
Awesome @stephanekalous 🙌🏻🚀
Couldn't agree more about the need for a wide toe box and I find that the only shoes with a 'natural foot shape' are particular trainer brands (like the Topo Fli-Lyte & St-3 Athletic trainers I wear which are 3mm & 0 mm drop respectively) and minimal shoes like the ones you recommend. I also prefer the feeling of training barefoot and rarely ever wear shoes indoors. Question is: What is a good strategy for adapting to walking in minimal shoes and how long would you expect it to take?
As always love the content & your podcasts :)
@dontcallmetinaplease wow these look amazing! Have bunions from years in soccer cleats and running shoes.
What about with running shoes? They’re notorious for having narrow toe boxes. Would having shoes with a high heel-to-toe drop help prevent plantar fasciitis?
@ryan.vienneau I have been trying to use a normal toe spreader for painting your nails to solve this same issue, but it doesn't seem to be working as well as this would.
This is really helpful Dr Aaron. I developed a bunion on my right foot in a very short period after training in some Adidas Powerlifting shoes. They were clearly too narrow for my feet and I've since sold them. My question is, should I only wear the Correct-toes on my right foot, or on my good foot too? Thanks
They come in pairs so got them on both feet now .
Hello. I’m a physiotherapist and my thesis o hallux valgus. Do you have pain in yours?
@@alexis4252 Hi there. No pain. My toe spread has naturally increased over the past 6 months and I have gone up one shoe size. I try to wear flat (barefoot style) shoes when I train and for day to day. My bunion (H.V) has reduced in size since. I wish you the best with your thesis
I have been wearing Yoga Toes to bed every night for ONE YEAR now. I do not see any change. Am I too far gone? Would you recommend trying Correct Toes? Also, I have knee and back issues. Please Advise....
@sacha.paquet I would love these!!!! thank you
@msherrill_jones
Started wearing Altra cross trainers for the wide toe box last year and love them!
That's great!
This kind of devices trully work, and they do it kind of fast. I have been using individual ones due to a deformation in the position of 2 toes for a week and my foot already looks and function way better.
Thank you
So you use correct toes when squats? I’m looking more into foot health and strength
@afrom175
Amazing video! I need to get a pair of these!
@naemie_aj love the information about how to fix bunions. ❤️
Can versalifts with a wide toe shoe be a replacement for these narrow weightlifting shoes?
500lb perfect squat, vs 650lb squat with slight high shift and knee cave. Keep note these squats are in training, but only done at the end of a peaking cycle. What’s more impressive?
Love FROM INDIA ❤️
@lorcan_17 Just had a recent flare up of morton's neuroma so this is perfect timing!
My son (13 years old) has very flat feet due to hypermobility. He has overpronation causing his arch to collapse completely flat. (His foot print actually looks the opposite to most typical feet). We were always advised not to be barefoot and to wear orthotics as much as possible. But it doesn't help his foot gain strength, in fact the opposite. However I suppose it puts ankle and knee in better alignment. Question is....should I try to encourage him to wear toe correctors ? His big toe is already drifting across, bunion style
Start small, with him trying to trying to just exercise and walk a little with spacers. And then build up. Also, barefoot shoes, instead of normal shoes.
What shoes do you recommend to wear for training that will help to strengthen the feet?
No shoes TBH
@joeeatsandlifts
That looks like a great product!
Is it fair to say we're more susceptible to ankle injuries due to the narrow footwear available?
@tgary6 I am a high school track coach and we run barefoot when possible but track shoes are so tight. No wonder we have some many lower extremity issues
@nguyen_kev12
What are some wide toed shoes that you can use for working out? I’m wearing metcons
@momofboys1764
Perhaps barefoot athletics could make that wide toe box weightlifting shoe someday!
@Dano4916. I would love a pair. Keep up the awesome videos
It is like a less intense foot binding.
I get this for workout time (barefoot/toe spacer) but what about the other 9-10 hours you are in shoes each day? I have already wide feet but have never found a pair of shoes wide enough for my toes to not be pushed together. I have fought Plantar fasciitis for almost three years now in both feet. Not sure there is anything that might work at this point.
you can wear toe spacers in barefoot shoes, there are quite a lot of companies out there that produce good and even nice barefoot/minimalist shoes.
Need a video on how to cure shin pain✌🏻
I'll see what I can do!
Squat University thank you🤝
@laurenepelton Thank you for doing a giveaway for these! I would love to own a pair.
Would this help with Tarsal Tunnel?
can this be used on top of a custom orthotic?
Loved this! I like wearing Xero Shoes, and going barefoot as much as possible. Those Correct Toes look good.
@realifefinalgirl7 just recently developed these issues. This video makes complete sense and the product seems life changing for sure 😊💪
I know a girl who's doing ballet dancing regulary and let me tell you: that girl has INSANE tippy toe strenght!
Yeah... and will most likely have serious arthritis in her future. I work with a LOT of former dancers. It ain't pretty what that does to their toes
How does this differ from reverse step ups?
@rarestdenily. These sound amazing. A bunion strap is not comfortable to walk in!
Please make a video about morton's toe
I had a doctor recommend surgery for my foot (I grew up never really having the right size) after my surgery my problems got worse. Foot doesn't fit in my shoes, toe is crooked, pretty much can't run or squat
Is it available in Europe?
@ciobanumarius looks nice
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON LABRAL HIP TEARS!!!
Any opinion on the Vivo Barefoot shoes?
Very good shoes
Why isn't there a wide toe box shoe????
@beeficecream my feet are crying out for these! It all makes sense after watching this video, my poor feet!
I agree Joey. Even my chiropractor heavily endorses this channel; it's a treasure trove
Serious question can't you just buy a size bigger shoe? Wouldn't this help alleviate a good bit? Or squat in socks?
@chandler_h_13 i'd be really curious to try these out, especially because my dads side is prone to bunions
Whats the toe separators called? Can I buy them on Amazon?
Yea
@taskurdaugpakel :) great content as always
@atg_labs I would love to try these out
So, I've been lifting bare foot for awhile but noticed plantar fasciitis started after incorporating yoga. Ugh.
@darrylfordpt
Sounds like a great product!
So now I have to throw away my romoleo 3's? Also, why don't nike amd adidas take this stuff in to account?
@heidijeppson5 Just got a new pair of Xero minimalist shoes and love them.
