180SX Re-Shell - Converting my drift car back to a street car.

- Over the past month I took my dedicated drift car and swapped all the parts into a street car chassis, you can read all about it at engineeredtoslide.com/2023/12... this is something I have wanted to do for a long time, road rules in Australia are stringent and wont allow things like roll cages and chassis modifications (not even a hole in the battery tray) so I look forward to enjoying this car more. I hope this video gives you some insight into the work that went into this over the last month.

I remember saving pics of the 180 in high school more than ten years ago! Street ver. looks amazing, definitely still captures the essence of the original.

heh im too still have wallpapers on my PC with hilux since 2012.. i even printed decals with ETS logo on my RC gtr35 body using just scotch tape to laminate paper and regular printer to print it.. what a beautiful days was...
I remember back in my high school days, ~2008-2010, finding your builds. Those builds blew my mind how someone could have that level of skill and attention to detail. You sir the OGs of OGs when it comes to this level of build. Absolutely outstanding and always motivation to most other s chassis owners! Keep it up🤘

i got a coupe. i love the slick look on it. only needs skirts and valence. front bumper. the hatch looks better with a wide body kit.

Followed your blog back when you were building the hilux. Always liked your attention to detail and clean builds. Nice to find you on UA-cam. I would have loved to se this build as a build series here. Will watch the s15 series! Rember that shell in the background back in the days.

Samco sport makes flat black hoses (classic black) that you would probably really like. Instead of taping them a bonus is nismo uses these hoses in the carbon hot pipe kits so they must be decent! :D

Amazing! Could you go into detail on the cooler mount and if you've had to cut metal out and relocate the headlight rods to fit it?
I didn’t cut anything or move anything other than the radiator which came back 40mm and the intercooler just takes up that space.
What size cooler core is that? I’d love to be able to do something like that and save cutting the battery tray or front bumper to fit. Love your work mate, you build the best Silvia’s in Aus!

I’ll try to but the secret is to do as little as possible, this is a stock bottom end, metal head gasket, stock hydraulic lifters, step 1 cams, cam gears, and that’s it internally.
How did you sort the oiling out? so incredibly to see an Sr20 not give issues being drifted

I always see a bunch of cool cars from Australia.. do you guys like not have like car inspections or anything like that? 👀😭
Depends on the state. I think nsw has the worst restrictions. Things like bodykits are fine, but anything like engine swaps or suspension changes requires the car to be 'engineered'. It can get very expensive to do stuff legally when it comes to engine swaps.
We actually have really strict road rules but a lot of the cars you’re probably talking about rarely drive on the street.
How long has the S13 Silvia front bar been unpainted for haha
Now I know how to paint I’ll give it a go, I secretly love it being white though and would paint that car all white in a heartbeat.
I’m assuming your rears are 18x10.5 +15? If so, how do they fit with stock metal?

These are 18x10.5 +22 on the rear and just fit due to the 235/40/18 tyres stretched on. The camber’s probably around 3 degrees negative
