Quote of the night “I don’t trust you, you make weird decisions” - JLK
Whoo! I was the bell guy for this!
good work!
Its the Boros Bell guy! ✊🏼
Nice!! Praise the Sun \●/
A true hero indeed
Praise the sun!!!
Absolutely heart-warming to see you pull a younger person from the audience on stage to interact with you guys and the game and you then just poor the collector’s boosters on them. Go Dashiell! 🕊️👊👊👊
What an awesome event, and such an iconic Game Knights! Big props to all who helped produce this, and to everyone involved in the background. GKLive is such a fantastic event, would love to see it in person one day!😁
Same going to a magic con is in my must do before death list hope it comes close to where I live at some point
I never thought I would have so much fun watching someone else play Commander! Awesome event!
@@bjqstorm That ending was insane! I can't remember an end to a commander game that was that close, and yet no one could do anything without it getting responded to immediately, between THREE people!
Seeing you had a sign language interpreter makes me so happy, and ofc the whole game was a blast to watch!
I must know how they sign "Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar"
@@jholls He should just shrug.
I hope they give the sign language interpreters a shout-out as well next time, they had to work a lot during those two hours!
@@jholls Because its a name a person/character they would have to sign each letter of the name
@@blaze556922 'of course'
This was amazing to watch live, had so much fun picking on Josh. It was a close game, there was just so many good things going on , definitely the best part of the Con!
That was an intense stack resolution at the end there. What a game!
I was having a tough time following the stack at the end but it was awesome to see it play out! I was expecting Josh to use his Liquimetal Torque to make his Disciple of the Vault an artifact to trigger on it's own removal to take out TheAsianAvenger and sweep the game. When he didn't I wasn't sure if it was a missed opportunity by Josh or a misunderstanding of the stack by me. Either way this was a blast to watch!
Dude that can't name a single guild volunteers for the trivia contest, gotta love it. Edit: and then wins the whole thing! Amazing.
This is peak magic the gathering
I fully thought he was trolling at first and just purposely tanking so Jimmy wouldn't go first. Then he actually started trying and won. So no clue what was happening.
@@BYOBando We spoke with him after and he was just extremely nervous. We're stoked he pulled through in the end!
@@commandcast Awesome. Thanks for ending my confusion. I'm sure it was nerve wracking for all of you up there. All of you, and him, did great!
That ending was really cool. The whole thing in fact was very cool. Especially the first person that came on stage and right away pointed all the birds one way without blinking hahaha that was cool
Council of Four is a great card. One of my fav commander decks
This was INCREDIBLE. such amazing attitudes and enjoyment. Jimmy, your knock out was awesome. Rachel - including the audience - wonderful. Josh, following audience input - made it such a great experience. Crim - so amazing with the bell and the audience inclusion too. Great product. The best thing I’ve watched so far on Game Knights.
I was laughing so hard I was crying when I heard "full send" then "boo" for Josh full sending 🤣🤣🤣
I made this comment before seeing who won and before seeing that last turn - WHAAAAAATTTT?!?!? One of the best stacks I’ve seen in ages. All players dead on the stack - which one resolves first?!? Crim - amazing playing. And @wachelreeks - good win.
1:35:45 Can we all appreciate how badass Rachel is for making a forever memory for Dashiell(sp?) for picking him out of the crowd. The other 3 for hyping the moment up too. Awesome people. I think all the other audience inclusions are cool, don't get me wrong, but there's something so heartwarming about kids getting moments like this because stuff like that shapes people's futures sometimes.
Rachel is such an amazing and nice person to watch play magic, this event was so fantastic and definitely had me shocked at the end!
Rachel's Win Rate with the GK team is astounding! Even Crim couldn't take her down!
Fantastic game, lovely level of audience participation, and what an ending -edge of your seat! Great to see my guy Crim Nguyen spicing it up!
Also, great to meet you guys! Lol my bad, Josh for telling you at the signing you guys forgot to say "only one may stand!". Was an amazing weekend!! Big shout to Jake behind the scenessssss
I hope the four people from Rachel's Council got their collector boosters in the end, they deserved it! :) What a game!
I was there front row and it was one of the most fun things I’ve ever seen. Great time!
i can't believe how close that game was so awesome, everyone at the command zone are awesome thank for the shows.
Loved the costumes/personalities and puns. Great job, fun seeing you all in person
This is honestly 1000x more exciting than something like the superbowl!
What a game! The last few minutes were on a knife's edge. Never seen anything like it!
28:28 if you want to see the deck presentations. Game starts at 30:35 .
My boy Crim almost with the insane clutch win there - what a game.
omg the kid with the flying attack probably had a movie-like moment! rachel fucking weeks calls him, he gets to sit on the table, make a real decision, and get all those boosters? so happy for him!
So unlucky for Jimmy, I think if it wasn't exactcies the decision might have taken longer. "25 power, Jimmy's at 25, easy call"
Hats off to Crim, he almost had a boros win LIVE!!! That last turn was amazing
I literally yelled out loud when that stack at the end was resolving, completely amazing
Events like this are why this team is so popular... oh my God i had tears laughing when the crowd wanted " full send" but then "booed" Josh for making tokens 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We need Brian Kibler on another episode of Game Knights and on a episode of Extra Turns, That would be awesome and sick
👀👀

Here's a breakdown of the game deciding play:
The Setup:
=====
1. Josh has a treasure and a Oni-cult Anvil trigger to deal 1 damage at instant speed. He is currently using this to hold Crim hostage. Crim is forced to target Rachel for most of his triggers
2. Crim plays Valakult Awakening. He deals 3 damage to Rachel via his commander's Passionate Archelogist ability.
3. Crims refills his hand and sees an opportunity.
4. At 2:01:22, Rachel has 2 life, Crim has 1 life, Josh has 3 life. It's a tight game.
The Play:
======
5. Crim swings at Josh with Bell Borca (3 power versus 3 life)
6. Josh responds by tapping Oni-cult Anvil to drain everyone for 1 (this would be lethal for Crim) and for Josh to gain 1 life
7. Josh's disciple of the vault triggers; Josh directs this at Crim as an extra measure (note: Josh could have directed that 1 damage at Rachel in attempt to kill his two opponents at once. Also note: Josh has a treasure he can sacrifice as "insurance" against Crim)
8. Crim responds, casting Flicker of Fate targeting Wall of Omens.
9. Crim's commander (w/ passionate archeologist background) triggers. Crim directs 2 damage at josh
10. Wall of omen comes back into play, Crim draws a card
11. Crim's commander with Passionate Archeologist ability resolves. Josh is dealt 2 damage, going to 1 life
12. Next, Crim casts delay fireball blast. This would kill everyone if it resolves
13. Josh responds by sacrificing his last treasure (his "insurance") for a Disciple of the Vault trigger targeting Crim (for lethal, again)
14. Crim responds by casting Tibalts Trickery from his hand, targeting his own delayed fireball, hoping for a spell he can cast for a Passionate Archeologist trigger
15. Crim mills himself for 3 nonland cards....and he miraculously hits a Bolt Bend as his 3rd card! This also allows him to redirect a spell or ability. Crim casts it.
16. Passionate archeologist triggers on bolt bend. Crim initially attempts to direct 4 damage at Rachael and to redirect 1 damage to Josh with Josh's own disciple of vault ability.
17. Unfortunately, Crim's redirect of Disciple of the Vault at josh would not be a legal target, since the card reads "target opponent" and Josh is not his own opponent...
18. Crim decides to point 4 damage at Josh instead and to redirect the Disciple of the Vault ability at Rachel
19. The 4 damage resolves 🙌
20. Josh dies 💀
21. All of josh's effects are exiled from the stack (including the redirected disciple of the vault). Rachel takes no damage since it's Josh's effect
22. The dust settle with Crim at 1 life and Rachel at 2 life
=== Then ===
23. Crim plays reckless impulse, whiffs. Whomp.
24. Crim passes to Rachel, who has 2 fliers on the board to swing back for lethal
Takeaways:
====
i. Josh, as always, is the master of politics and kept Crim at 1 life so Crim can whittle down Rachel
ii. Crim survives with potentially lethal x2 on the stack, Josh had lethal x2 on the stack, Rachel has lethal x1 on the stack
iii. Crim made a clutch play by targeting tibalts trickery on his own spell! (note: the 3 was supposed to be chosen at random :P)
iv. A technicality on disciple of the vault prevented Crim from winning the game
i still dont understand why before that when rachel was at 5 and josh at 3, why crim didnt send 3 damage he had at josh then send his commander at rachel and make it unblockable with rouge passage
Krim's Stage Personality is AWESOME!
This was so much fun to see live! Thank you guys for putting on such a fantastic show! I have the Bird that I caught from Rachel on Display in my house haha.
I've never laughed so much watching a mtg match in whole life! Thank you guys! Magic should be exactly like that every play! Keep it going!!
Definitely one of the best game knights ever guys! That turn with all the ''deaths'' on the stack was such an exciting moment. Also loved how u ahnded out a bunch of boosters just for people joining in.
Lets gooooo!!!! What a game, great to watch live with my homie, Rob.
I was only able to attend Philly Magic Con on Sunday, so I appreciate the posting of this video. Epic win. Congrats to Rachel!!
Hell Yeah Crim! the Patriotic Avenger!
The kid killing Jimmy was amazing!!! Then they make it rain collector's packs lmao!!
This was like the perfect game of EDH. Laughing and joking around early game whilst having fun. Ended with what the game is known for (the stack). Just amazing to watch all of this happen.
Hey so huge thanks to the interpreter/sign language translator, they weren’t seen too much in the video but she (or he) was killing it!
So glad this was a Live one! Great to see the final interaction unedited so you could feel how close it was for all 3 involved!
Love seeing The Council of Four in action.
Now that was a amazing game
Crim almost had it but the "read the cards" messed up since disciple said "opponent"
That was fun. Involving the crowd was when excitement spiked. Here's an idea to involve the audience a bit more next time:
Anytime someone is dealt damage from another player they must give that other player 1 booster pack for each damage they received. Then, the player that dealt the damage gets to give that pack(s) to someone in their section of the crowd.
You guys are insane! Keep up the good work
FULL SEND!!!!!
I felt pretty uncomfortable when people were teasing Josh literally every single action he made, like it was funny the first two or three times, but... after turn three I already felt really bad for him. It's not like Josh seems to be the kind of man who cannot cope with it, but something like this can get pretty ugly and harmful for more fragile mindsets fast. Anyway, Rachel has been amazing in previous episodes, but she is just lovely in this one again. Bringing a birds deck to Philly in that jersey and then be like "well done, flyers. GO FLYERS!" is absolutely brilliant. Keep it up Rachel!
Nice to see another guy from Westchester up there, good showing Rob.
Crim's entrance was such a gem
BEST game knights game I've ever seen. Bravo
17:50... Missed your opportunity to shake The Man, The Myth, The Legend's hand.
Looking for this comment 😂
I wonder what that guys friends told him lololol
What an episode! Thoroughly was laughing through out. Favorite one so far! Crim’s play was so sick!
I HAVE A KESKIT TOGGO DECK. Josh is truly a man of taste and class
Great thing to see the sign language interpreter on the side of the stage there ❤
This move changes the game completely 42:00
If you know, you know
Josh needs to stop letting the crowd make him full send
@@SovereignwindVODs as a non english speaker, what does the word "send" mean here?
@@karlgrylls2406 it’s slang meaning “go all out” or to act with the maximum possible effort. So picking all 3 options on BMC is a full send.
Who wasn't surprised that Rachel won AGAIN?!
This was just a really great watch , best thing iv seen for a while, was great to see everyone having a good time. Keep up the good work everyone cant wait to watch the next one
You guys remind me why I love this game.
Got to watch this live! Was an amazing game! Had me and my fiancé on the edge of our seats the whole time!
Josh: *untaps*
Everyone: How dare you
Wow that last turn was insane
These intros are absolutely ridiculous. I love it. Can't wait for Minneapolis.
Yay, so happy to see Riley as the MC! Unlucky that it sounds like he’s sick, but he still brings the sauce.
Rachel has to have, BY FAR, the highest win percentage.
She had to come through and give Philly a birds win.
Thanks for uploading the match, this was a blast!
Crim was so close, it was Josh pointing every trigger that saved Rachel in the end
Crim could have easily won. All the spells exiled with the wand were instants. He could have pointed them at josh in response to his ping tiggers
But then he didn't have enough mana left to kill Rachel
This proves I am the loudest human I know "GO BIRDS"
This was so much fun and the player introductions were SO on point. Love you guys!
I always feel bad for Josh lol.
Great video and so much fun to watch :)
Officer/Demon Jody Foster going 1st made me so happy!!
Literally everyone booing when josh plays anything. That might be a sign.
SOLITARE MUCH!
I mean, it turned more into a meme. Honestly, I was there and it got old for me real fast. He took it in good stride
"How are you still taking your turn during my turn?" I mean, it's Josh Lee Kwai. The man basically lives inside his opponents' end steps. I guarantee you if there was a way for him to somehow get a combat phase during his opponents' turns, he'd find a way to run it in every deck.
What a game. Bird bird bird is the word !!!
Catch y’all on the flippity !
"How are you still taking your turn on my turn?"
LOL
As someone who's fond of backstage prod, great work team!!
I can't wait for MagicCon: Minneapolis! I am really hoping to meet some of you guys in person 😁
i love that voxxy and kyle hill are the anouncers
Before the game even begins: Josh with his "Mana Rocks" deck is scary. But my prediction is Rachel for the win
Edit:
Spoilers below
Damn I was spot on. Josh always scary. Rachel always the best 😎
🤯 you were right
My favorite Game Knight playing my favorite Commander(s)? Is this Christmas? Go Jimmy! Show them the power of Master Chef Lae'Zel!
Perfect commander game 10/10
This was so fun to watch. Also a great game. Props to the champ!
Rachel's 3-color flyers is so cool.
@The Command Zone - Excited that you are coming to MagicCon Minneapolis and would love to see the show live! Do you have your schedule out yet as far as what day GKL in Minneapolis will be happening? Thanks!
now thats how a commander game should end
This was wonderful! I hope to catch one at some point!
Thanks boss for being such a boss and Jamie for killin it !!
Way to represent Boros on the big stage, Crim! So close man, totally brought showmanship and the entertainment value all game.
That was an incredible game, I was really hoping for Crim to pull it out there as it would have just been an epic way to end but still amazing game
Crim could have bolt bended one of his previous passionate archaeologist damage triggers to redirect it at rachel while sending the bolt bend damage cast trigger at josh. Didn't have to select one of josh's triggers for that spell, right? Obviously that was super complicated and thinking it through in paper on stage isn't exactly easy and most people probably would have missed it (unless I'm somehow wrong about this which is possible, this shits complicated).
at the time he cast bolt bend, the only damage on the stack was Josh's effects.
Woooow... I didnt realize this while watching!! o_o!! I believe you would be correct, however, I don't think there were any P.A. triggers at the time of him casting Bolt Bend.
But did bolt bend even have a legal target?
@@jfuzzz It did. It could target abilities as well and the Disciple ability was still on the stack at the time of casting.
Rachel always wins but omg Crim at the end... that was amazing
Well....flying decks 🤷♂️
Great game. Crim had some cool interaction in Boros, Rachel as always awesome plays, but I was secretly rooting for Jimmy the whole time. Sorry Josh.
Ignore me, just wanted to play along 😄
1. 1000
2. Boros
3. 10000
4. 20
5. 300
6. B
Finally! The Commander Clock is on Android! Definitely appreciate getting the clock on more than just Apple.
Great games! But if possible better sleeves need to be chosen next time because there was unfortunately way to much glare to read some of the cards
That game was amazing!
In the finals are the decks going to be all exactly as they were originally played or can they be altered with new releases that happen between then and the finals?
Two questions. 1st. When did Joshes Shapeshifters get haste? If I did not miss something, Josh should not have been able to attack Jimmy with the Shape shifter on the turn he played the Grimm Hireling.(3 more life for Jimmy and two fewer treasures for Josh). It should also have been one less Shape-shifter against Rachel.
2nd Question Could Craig not have redirect one of his Archeologist triggers on the stack from Josh to Rachel on the semi-final turn?
Hey Jake Boss! Why are they not doing Game Knights with guests/fans? Those were really cool to see them join the cast for an experience!
Did no one catch the Wand of wonder misplay? instants and sorceries exiled with it should stay exiled no? according to the card? Then that toxic deluge etc is recastable every time it's activated. Or is there an errata or something?
Got my weekend premium pass! For MN be my first MagicCon!
